Get Your First Look at Single Drunk Female Season 2

March 30, 2023
News
freeform, season 2, single drunk female, sofia black delia, trailer

Season 1 of Single Drunk Female brought a frank, touching, yet funny warts-and-all look at getting sober that was a shining star for Freeform. Sofia Black-D’Elia proved to be a pretty perfect lead for someone who earnestly wants to do better, but struggles with their own booze-soaked demons and joined by a splendid turn by Ally Sheedy as her mother who is, well, doing her best for both her daughter and herself.

The trailer for Season 2 of Single Drunk Female just dropped this week and is throwing everything that Black D’Elia’s Sam can handle in her still early stages of sobriety (and plenty more after that). Looks like the series will, qualitatively, be picking up right where they left off from their acclaimed first season.

See for yourself here, then look for episodes of Single Drunk Female season 2 on Apr. 12th on Freeform and then on Hulu the next day.

Jena Friedman Is Back to Making One of the Most Daring and Hysterical True Crime Shows with Season 2 of Indefensible (Teaser)

October 7, 2022
News
casey anthony, indefensible, jena friedman, season 2

To this day, not enough credit has been given to Jena Friedman and the hysterical, but also crucial work she has done with Indefensible. Simultaneously highlighting tragic stories that have been buried because of the microsecond news cycle and an incredible flawed justice system and honoring the memory of the victims all while making fun of bad people to their face is still something we’re marveling at this very moment.

Thank goodness that Jena got to do another whole season of the groundbreaking series that will air/stream on Sundance TV and AMC Plus. The cruel irony is that there are so many true crime stories that involve people botching up the investigation or the trial and then, subsequently, trying to cover their track or limit their culpability that there could be an endless number of seasons for this show.

Just watch this season 2 teaser for Indefensible here where Jena finds the one guy who thinks Casey Anthony is innocent and you’ll see what we’re saying.

Then, be sure to mark down Thursday, October 27th at 10PM to watch new episodes of Indefensible.

Get Ready for More Havoc from the Privileged with Season 2 Trailer of White Lotus

October 6, 2022
News
aubrey plaza, f murray abraham, hbo, jennifer coolidge, michael imperioli, mike white, season 2, white lotus

Though the upcoming season of White Lotus trades Hawaii for Sicily and an almost an entirely cast and a supposed focus, according to creator Mike White, more on male privilege as opposed to mainly the obscenely wealthy, it all looks just as satirically juicy as the critically acclaimed, beloved, award winning first season.

Having Aubrey Plaza, Michael Imperioli, and F. Murray Abraham next to a returning Jennifer Coolidge amidst a very enticing ensemble cast is frosting on the cake of the next chapter of the fictional White Lotus luxury resort franchise. Thank goodness that that the premiere date is only mere weeks away, specifically Sun. Oct. 30th on HBO/HBO Max.

Get a taste of the Italian flavor of chaos that’s to come on season 2 of The White Lotus with the first official trailer here.

Get Your First Look at Los Espookys’ Season 2

July 29, 2022
News
ana fabrega, fred armisen, hbo, julio torres, los espookys, season 2

Long ago, in the Summer of 2019, Julio Torres, Ana Fabrega, and Fred Armisen unleashed the horror fantasy comedy series Los Espookys into the world. The mesh of all those genres were only starting to come into prominence (and What We Do in the Shadows definitely hadn’t gotten its due yet) and Los Espookys, especially with the original voices of Torres and Fabrega, was truly unlike anything that had been on television before.

The macabre has never been this trippy and funny and, on this side of the pandemic, it might be the perfect thing for Summer 2022. You can see for yourself in the first look at season 2 here, which is finally coming over 3 years after its series premiere.

Then, make a reminder on your phone for Fri. Sept. 16th when Los Espookys officially returns, exclusively on HBO.

Reservation Dogs Season 2 Trailer Promises a More Than Worthy Follow-Up

July 7, 2022
News
fx, reservation dogs, season 2, sterlin harjo, taika waititi

Sterlin Harjo & Taika Waititi’s dramedy, Reservation Dogs, set on a reservation in Oklahoma captured the hearts and minds of so many and shone a much needed and very human light on modern day life “on the res”, especially during those teen years. With plenty of acclaim and awards that came with the series’ first run, there is almost endless amounts of anticipation for season 2 following the journeys of Elora Danan, Bear, Willie Jack, Cheese, and all of their friends, families, and enemies.

The official trailer for season 2 of Reservation Dogs dropped yesterday and it seems to hit a sweet spot of grounded absurdity and pathos, maybe even more emphatically than season 1. Elora Danan continues her perhaps impossible quest for the promise land of California, Bear wrestles with adulthood having no manual, and there’s a much better indigenous version of a Zoltar-machine. Give it a watch and see for yourself here, then look for its premiere on FX/Hulu on Wed. Aug. 3rd.

Get Your First Full Look at Tuca & Bertie Season 3

News
adult swim, season 2, trailer, tuca and bertie

There was a short window of time where we feared that Tuca & Bertie might have come to abrupt end as the almighty algorithm at Netflix deemed it not worthy for another season and Lisa Hanawalt’s dream show might not get live out its wildest fantasies (that’s saying something considering how many fantastical things happen on the shows such as sexy, sentient plants).

Thank goodness to Adult Swim giving it, honestly, its proper home and letting us all see where Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong as best bird friends forever will end up, often going through more raw emotional moments than some live action dramedy shows currently on air.

You can see all of what’s up in the air for this season with the season 3 official trailer of Tuca & Bertie here, then look for the series to premiere on Adult Swim on July 10th at midnight (then on HBO Max the day after).

Get a More Complicated Look at Only Murders in the Building Season 2

June 14, 2022
News
hulu, martin short, only murders in the building, season 2, selena gomez, steve martin, trailer

While Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez made it out alive for season 1 of Only Murders in the Building (because, of course, there has to be a few more seasons before they have something extremely drastic happen), they certainly didn’t escape unsullied. Steve Martin is throwing more flies into the ointment with season 2 of the thriller/comedy that might be scratching that itch that Search Party gave you with a competing murder podcast to Only Murders in the Building in the universe of the show and just happening to be tagged as prime suspects in the murder of yet another tenant of The Arconia.

The teaser mainly just gave you the great row of guest stars, but see where Martin and Short’s potentially fatal hijinks land them with the full season 2 trailer here, then look for the series premiere on Hulu on Tues. Jun. 28th.

Get Your First Look at “Pause with Sam Jay” Season 2

May 13, 2022
News
hbo, pause, sam jay, season 2, trailer

Pause with Sam Jay arrived in the realm of talk shows and disrupted pretty much every facet that had ever been established. There was no set, no house band, and it mostly was centered on conversations with fellow comedians and friends that Sam would have during a real house party/hang, often while playing pool or while getting drinks made in the kitchen. There were remote segments and sketches, but even those were more interested in thematic guests than any sort of celebrity.

For all the times that we’ve wanted a real shake-up in late night/talk shows, Pause is part of a legitimate wave of that actually happening. Season 2 is coming up in a week and it looks like Sam is only doubling down on this new way of doing a talk show focusing on topics like handling death, addiction, queer rights, etc. which we’re plenty on board for.

Take your first gander at season 2 here, then look for the premiere on HBO starting Fri. May 20th.

Hacks Season 2 Trailer Looks to Up the Ante

April 26, 2022
News
hacks, hannah einbinder, hbo max, jean smart, season 2, trailer

The first season of Hacks from Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky brought us all, for our money, the best depiction of stand-up in any sort of scripted TV or movie. It also really sunk its teeth into how the goal posts keep moving for women in entertainment, specifically in comedy and how class and privilege underhandedly weave themselves into the tapestry. Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder capture all of these dynamics in their dazzling pairing and made us want season 2 as soon as we finishing speeding through season 1.

Thank goodness that the second season of the instant critical and fan darling is coming very, very soon on Thurs. May 12th on HBO Max and we’ll get to see what famed comedian Deborah Vance (a fictionalized version of many comedians, but very much drawing from comedy legend Joan Rivers) working on a whole new hour on the road while also making a creative pivot to more personal material. As we said in the headline, the trailer for season 2 seems to up the ante from season 1 and it might be even wilder (especially if Megan Stalter gets more screen time).

See for yourself with the season 2 trailer for Hacks here.

hacks, hannah einbinder, hbo, jean smart, lucia aniello, paul downs, season 2, teaser

Hacks, the latest freshman single cam comedy to be critically acclaimed and award winning out of the gate (Atlanta and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend being the others in recent memory) has been such a lauded show that it, like those others freshman phenoms, feels like it has been around a lot longer than it actually has.

Well, that’s kind of what happens when a show is that good out of the gate. Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, Jen Statsky, Jean Smart, and Hannah Einbinder all make for one of the best explorations of stand-up comedy and fighting your way through the entertainment biz as a woman, no matter where you are in age or station, and the second season has been highly anticipated since the credits rolled for season 1.

Lucky for us all, season 2 is kicking off very soon, Thurs. May 12th to be exact, on HBO Max. You can take your very first look at all the fights and cool looks of mutual respect between Ava and Deborah and everything in between here (as this season will follow them out of Vegas and on the road).

Stop What You’re Doing and Enjoy the Season 2 Trailer of Ziwe

News
adam pally, Charlamagne Tha God, Chet Hanks, Emily Ratajkowski, hannibal buress, ilana glazer, Katya Zamolodchikova, late night, mia khalifa, nicole byer, season 2, showtime, trailer, ziwe

For the last few years, few other comedians have ascended quite like Ziwe, writing on one of the best late night shows on the air right now, Desus & Mero, to having the hottest IG Live show during lockdown, Baited with Ziwe, to having her own groundbreaking late night variety talk show, the eponymous Ziwe.

The first season of Ziwe having the keys to her very own talk show was some of the most delectable satire in late night and this next upcoming season (streaming Fri. Apr. 29th on Showtime) is going to one-up that as you can see in this season 2 trailer here.

Ziwe will march on in her iconic mission to be unflinching in picking apart issues and celebrities (and even her own writers). This season will have Baited-ish interviews with Ilana Glazer, Chet Hanks, Nicole Byer, Hannibal Buress, Adam Pally, Charlamagne Tha God, Emily Ratajkowski, Katya Zamolodchikova, and Mia Khalifa (and the Hannibal, Ilana, and Chet ones seem like they’ll be iconic from the get go).

Truly, knowing that season 2 of Ziwe is just around the corner, Apr. 29th suddenly seems so far away and can’t come soon enough.

Here’s Your First Gander at Season 2 of Three Busy Debras

News
adult swim, alyssa stonoha, first look, mitra jouhari, sandy honig, season 2, three busy debras

Your favorite trio of Debras, the three busiest ones played by Alyssa Stonoha, Mitra Jouhari, and Sandy Honig, are finally back for season 2. The first season of Three Busy Debras premiered on Adult Swim two years ago right when a certain global pandemic struck.

Their particular brand of absurdist humor, even though it’s satire to the nth degree of the unfortunately real world, is still such an escapist joy that we’ve dearly missed them for however long this time has felt for you (ten years for us, at least).

This second season of Three Busy Debras is due out on April 24th on Adult Swim and will be available to stream the next day on HBO Max. Until then, you can remind yourself what a ridiculous delight Three Busy Debras are with the first official look/clip of season 2 here.

Get Ready to Learn More of How To (with Things You Took For Granted) with John Wilson (Season 2 Teaser)

October 25, 2021
News
hbo, how to with john wilson, john wilson, season 2, teaser

The wholly surprising and endearing (and acclaimed and also, very funny) docu-series How To with John Wilson is set for its second season in just about a month, thankfully, right after Thanksgiving.

Wilson slyly charmed with his deftly edited documentary footage of everyday life in NYC, but focusing on hyper specific niches, like scaffolding or wrapping furniture in plastic (and, of course, the humanity that is behind all of that). Based off of the teaser for this second season, we’re pretty sure there’ll be episodes on how to parallel park, how to move apartments by yourself, and how to get ready in the morning when you’re in a rush.

Whatever the episodes end up being, we’re thrilled to get another round of Wilson’s lens of minutia of the sweetness of life that we so often overlook, especially if you’re caught up in the tornado that is life in NYC.

Look for season 2 to premiere Fri. Nov. 26th on HBO/HBO Max.

Get Your First Look at “The Other Two” Season 2

News
drew tarver, hbo max, helene yorke, molly shannon, other two, season 2

Though it received heaps of praise in its first season on Comedy Central, the road to the second season for The Other Two has been long and winding (and we’re sure a pandemic didn’t help with that either).

The acclaimed series following Drew Tarver and Heléne Yorke as the “other” family members of a successful showbiz family, like many acclaimed comedies that perhaps haven’t gotten their proper due, is now over at HBO Max.

Now having to deal with a superstar younger brother and mother, the long awaited next round of The Other Two is going to, so it would seem, give Molly Shannon another stellar role as a mother who is just simply too much.

See for yourself in the trailer here, then look for the premiere to stream on HBO Max on Aug. 26th.

Get Your First Look at Season 2 of “Back To Life”, the Latest Very Dark, Very Hilarious Comedy from the UK

August 10, 2021
News
back to life, daisy haggard, season 2, showtime, trailer

Daisy Haggard, the star and creator of Back to Life, has made something truly beautiful and hysterical with this series. The first season was some of the funniest writing juxtaposed with some truly dark, poignant, honest performances that were absolutely riveting. Truly, Back to Life needs to be in the same conversations, in regards to prestige comedy, as The White Lotus and everyone else’s favorite, Ted Lasso.

We haven’t had as riveting of dramedy from across the pond since Fleabag.

The second season following Miri Matteson’s on-going struggle to readjust to life in her very small, very nosy UK town after spending several years in jail is on the way. The premiere date is set for Mon. Sept. 13th on Showtime at 10PM and, from the looks of the trailer, it could very well be every bit as brilliant as season one.

Go see for yourself here.

You’ve Already Binged Through “I Think You Should Leave” Season 2, Right?

July 8, 2021
News
i think you should leave, season 2, tim robinson

Really, there’s no mystery here.

The second season of I Think You Should Leave delivered on the jolt of Tim-Robinson-screaming-fueled absurdity that had been desperately missing from all of our lives and this one sketch from said second season being on YouTube was just an excuse to further play up the glory of Robinson being free from the reins of network TV and SNL to let his mind wander and create the sketch comedy that this specific time very much needs and subsequently resonates so deeply with such an insane, unprecedented, bizarre time.

Just like the first season, it’s quotable and so fast paced and yet, goes to stranger, more emotional, and ambitious depths than the first season. Also, it takes less time than any MCU movie to get through it, so just go watch I Think You Should Leave season 2 already or watch it again or watch it “again” again.

Start with one of the best sketches of the season here.

Lastly, YOU HAVE TO GIVE.

Showtime Gives Icon Ziwe the Second Season Renewal She Deserves

June 22, 2021
News
season 2, showtime, ziwe

(via Variety)

Though “iconic” is perhaps Ziwe’s ironic catchphrase and often joked about, the idea of her manifesting her own iconic status is becoming more and more actualized every week.

In case you don’t know, Ziwe already announced that she’s developing a new series at Amazon last week. This week, she got a second season order of her eponymous Showtime series that might truly shift the paradigm of late night and sketch comedy for good. Don’t forget that she has a book due out and just dropped an album of songs that come from her Showtime series. See what we’re saying?

With how far and deep the first season that Ziwe went, often taking no prisoners with its satire (her very own writing staff included), the prospect of what she’ll do with 12 episodes for season 2 is undeniably thrilling and will be one of the most anticipated things in comedy for us until it premieres.

Make no mistake though. A season 2 of Ziwe is big news and well deserved, but Ziwe is far from done with manifesting and exuding being iconic.

i think you should leave, netflix, season 2, tim robinson, trailer

It has been our stance since season that I Think You Should Leave has given us many of the best, most iconic, most downright hysterical sketches that we needed at such an absurd time to live. Thus, the prospect of season 2 has been weighing us ever since we’ve sped binged through season 1 more than a few times.

Thankfully, season 2 is just around the corner, past the Fourth of July, due out on July 6th on Netflix. More of Tim Robinson’s daft brilliance will be served up and, yet again, very likely be the very thing we need to see on TV, in comedy, and definitely in sketch comedy.

For now, you can get your very first dose of season 2 with the official trailer and watch it on repeat until 7/6. Please get a ridiculous taste of what’s to come here.

Behold All the Song and Mirth of Central Park Season 2 in This Trailer

June 15, 2021
News
apple tv plus, central park, season 2, trailer

Within the Loren Bouchard-iverse, we’ve been wondering what sort of fate and several ingenious musical numbers would be coming for Central Park in this latest season. The wait to see how meta they’ll get and what possible genres of song (this is very much the best musical series since Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) they’ll explore this time around (the rap number about Weehawken is pretty stellar) is nearly over. Also, if you’ve been jonesing for more Kathryn Hahn or the original cast of Hamilton, your time is coming very soon too.

Season 2 of Central Park is set to kick off on Fri. Jun. 25th on Apple TV+ (though it probably won’t be all the episodes at once) with new episodes being dropped weekly. Until then, you can get a sonorous preview of what’s to come with these new episodes in this Central Park Season 2 Official Trailer here.

Mythic Quest Season 2 Gets Its First Full Trailer

News
apple tv plus, charlotte nicdao, danny pudi, megan ganz, rob mcelhenney, season 2

Mythic Quest is one of a growing number of series that is legitimizing Apple TV+’s place as a streaming service in the streaming wars. Taking the energy and verve of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and putting it into a video game studio has been a more than refreshing departure from the litany of fish-out-of-water sitcoms that get marched out and subsequently cancelled every TV season.

Even taking on a “very special episode”/dramedy tone for their quarantine episode, creators Rob McElhenney and Megan Ganz have conjured up a lovable cadre of very flawed misfits (some are lovable in spite of their shortcomings) in Mythic Quest that we’re genuine want to follow into whatever chaos they rustle up.

Thankfully, season 2 is just around the corner (May 7th on Apple TV+) and you can get your first full taste of what’s to come here.

The Second Season of A Black Lady Sketch Show Is Just a Few Weeks Away

March 23, 2021
News
a black lady sketch show, hbo, hbo max, robin thede, season 2

Though the arrival of COVID-19 in America immediately halted production on the second season of A Black Lady Sketch Show, Robin Thede has found her way through picking back up to finish that second season in 2021 and having it set to premiere on April 23rd.

This actually might mark the first non-live sketch comedy series to return from the before times. Plenty of late night shows have done various bits and sketches (and SNL has paid audience members in order to tape episodes in studio), but there has been a long dry spell for scripted, non-live-broadcast sketch comedy for however long the last year has been.

See the season 2 announcement teaser for A Black Lady Sketch Show here, then look for new episodes starting Fri. Apr. 23rd.

For a little while, we were left grieving the news that Tuca & Bertie wouldn’t be picked up for another season at Netflix. Then, Adult Swim gave Lisa Hanawalt and her beautiful, hysterical, otherworldly creation Tuca & Bertie another season, which we absolutely couldn’t wait for. There was an animatic released last year that gave us a bit of hope and excitement for what’s to come for the oddest bird couple.

Now, here‘s a full sneak peek, fully animated and just as charming and wild as you’ve come to expect, of season 2 of Tuca & Bertie.

There’s no specific premiere date (and what use are those anyway as everything changes all the time?), but it looks as though we can expect new episodes to start rolling out this Summer.

Solar Opposites Season 2 Promises BDE, Human Wine, and More

hulu, justin roiland, season 2, solar opposites, trailer

The latest alien family on the block thought they were going to leave, but the Solar Opposites are very much staying on earth to incidentally (or very intentionally) wreak havoc here on this rock for season 2 of the Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan series.

Just from the looks of the trailer, there going to get way in over their intergalactic heads when it comes to trying to manipulate “big dick energy” and sourcing wine from “alternative sources” that lean way more to the unethical side of things. The chaos reigns once more with this dysfunctional alien family.

In alternate animated reality, there is a seemingly less insane world where a dysfunctional alien family tries to cope with being stuck on earth and incidentally wreaks havoc in the process.

The animated universe of Solar Opposites definitely has a bonkers side to it though and we’ll all be treated to another whole season of it within the scope of Biden’s first 100 days (i.e. things in our reality could still potentially be crazier than an animated one with emotionally unhinged aliens).

The second season of Solar Opposites premieres on Fri. Mar. 26th on Hulu and you can get a taste of the chaos to come with their very first season 2 teaser (that’s a red band one to boot) here.

Since it looks more and more likely that the world will survive into 2021, there are things we can and will look forward to. A vaccine is at the top of most people’s lists, but a new season of Tuca & Bertie is up there.

Fresh from  this past weekend, Tuca & Bertie creator Lisa Hanawalt graciously gave a peek of a sneak peek with an animatic clip from season 2. Tuca & Bertie are together again at a strip club and, as is one of the magical things about this show, it’s a team of plant strippers are on stage.
