The Comedy Bureau Field Report Ep. 62: Kevin Allison & Pandemic Storytelling

June 2, 2021
News, The Comedy Bureau Field Report
comedy dynamics, john oliver, kevin allison, risk, storytelling, tribeca film festival

Kevin Allison, founder of the nationally beloved storytelling institution RISK! and member of legendary sketch group The State, joins TCB’s Jake Kroeger to give a bit of a state-of-the-nation breakdown of what the storytelling scene/art form has gone through during the pandemic. As you might imagine, folks have gone through so much and are still, largely, processing what has happened/is happening still.

RISK! thankfully evolved into a recurring virtual show and survived through 2020 and 2021 and is now set to return to in-person events (where the intimacy and vulnerability of storytelling is best featured). Also “hot” takes on Comedy Dynamics x Tribeca Film Festival’s slate of comedy specials and John Oliver’s latest ‘gonzo comedy’ pranks.

Follow Kevin @thekevinallison on Twitter and RISK @riskshow on Twitter and IG. Tickets for upcoming RISK! shows including 6/17 @ Caveat in NYC can be purchased at risk-show.com/tour. Listen to RISK! wherever you get your podcasts.

Pick of the Day: Rachel Bloom Is Rusty @ Dynasty Typewriter

June 1, 2021
News
dynasty typewriter, in person shows, live comedy, musical comedy, rachel bloom

First off, we’re thankful that Dynasty Typewriter, one of our absolute favorite venues in LA (a place that we, if we were to add up all the time that we’ve spent there would equal several weeks) has survived all the way to now as we get towards the other end of the pandemic.

Indeed, they have begun doing indoor shows for fully vaccinated audiences only that are distanced from each other. Also, they have started to fill their calendar with same sort of stellar talent that used to grace their gorgeous walls and stage in years past.

For starters, the musical comedy brilliance of Rachel Bloom will be doing three shows entitled “Rachel Bloom Is Rusty” on July 16th & 23rd and Aug. 20th, live at Dynasty Typewriter. It promises “music + comedy” and even though the title utilizes the word “rusty”, we have no doubt the excitement of both Rachel and everyone in attendance ought to be electric.

Tickets for each show are $30 and you can (and should) get them at DynastyTypewriter.com.

Bo Burnham Rises to the Challenge of Making a Pandemic Era Comedy Special with “Inside”

June 1, 2021
News
bo burnham, comedy special, netflix

At the beginning of lockdown, the live in-person element of comedy that is so vital to the art form disappeared leaving no clue as to when or if it would ever come back. Immediately, the absurdist questioning of what live comedy could even be without it had to not only be entertained, but faced and dealt with by every comedic performer everywhere in the world.

Many comedians took to Zoom, IG Live, Twitch, drive-in theaters/pop-ups, etc. to try and salvage/reimagine what the form could be to several varying degrees of success. There was undoubtedly a feeling that live comedy had to figure out what it would do in 2035 right on the spot of March/April 2020. Despite the misanthropic and existential protestations of comedians declaring that “comedy is dead”, live comedy lived on through trailblazers, pioneers, and the super clever.

Bo Burnham encapsulates all three of those distinctions.

He reaffirmed that with his latest comedy special, Inside. Off the top, it’s a staggeringly magnificent work just from how it has an undeniably epic expanse both in aesthetic and content while all coming from Bo’s mind and his physical limitations as the sole person on the production to going through a Campbell-esque hero’s journey all within a single room.

The irony of Bo’s humble beginnings of doing a bunch of songs by himself in a room over several months and then returning to them, albeit with a cinematic scope and a global pandemic and reckoning at hand, isn’t lost on us. Perhaps, that’s an overarching, thematic bit in of itself? If anything, the evolution of Bo’s journey as a comedian, a content creator, a director, and, most importantly, as a person all coalesce here in what is such a thoroughly human meditation on what 2020/2021 has been like through Bo’s lens of super clever songs, transitions, and gorgeous lighting.

Bo’s collection of tunes and asides cover so many facets of what we all went through last year. He goes from a personal level in regards to his own anxiety and depression to the global anxieties of what COVID-19 hath wrought and the shaking of the world’s soul in regards to its systemic problems regarding race, precarity, and the unprecedented levels of isolation. There’s a rawness and vulnerability that comes with Inside too, both literally and figuratively, with moments of very personal confessions of his mental state and in a shaggy Bo dancing and posing in just his underwear.

Bo Burnham’s Inside is very much what a comedy special as a performance art exhibit in art museum could be at it’s very best and we deeply love it for that.

We know you’re sick of being inside, but please do watch this as Bo Burnham: Inside is streaming on Netflix right now right here.

Pick of the Day: The Comedy Roof 6/2

May 31, 2021
News
ahmed al-kadri, brian simpson, dtla, grand central market, jenny jennings, joe mande, la comedy, nick skardarasy
If you’ve followed for us any of our 10 year and a half run, you very likely know and enjoy LA comedy’s penchant and expertise for doing comedy outdoors. Having had years of comedy taking advantage of the postcard quality weather that we’re privileged to have in LA, doing comedy outdoors due to the pandemic wasn’t such a huge sweat around here.
Shows such as The Comedy Roof popped up on the roof of the parking garage next to Grand Central Market in DTLA to keep this facet of the scene going. Also, they observed as much COVID-19 protocols as they could (including mask policy, very socially distant tables/chairs, separate entrances and exits, etc.). On top of that, you literally get a pretty gorgeous view of DTLA’s skyline.
So, The Comedy Roof folks are back at it with their latest show coming this Wed. Jun. 2nd at 8PM PT (Doors 7:30PM PT) with a stacked line-up of:
Joe Mande (Comedy Cental, NBC)
Brian Simpson (Comedy Central, BS with Brian Simpson)
Nick Skardarasy (CollegeHumor, The A.V. Club)
Jenny Jennings (ROM-COMedians)
Ahmed Al-Kadri
+ Jeff Buck, Vee Bentley, Kate Mason, & Mikel Albagdadi
Tickets are only $15 and you can (and very much should before they sell out) get them here.

Please Enjoy Ziwe’s Latest Banger/Damning Piece of Satire “Black Friends”

May 28, 2021
News
black friends, music video, ziwe

One of the distinct things about the newly minted late night/variety series Ziwe is that iconic namesake star Ziwe makes a music video of a song that she wrote and performed herself with each episode. In line with the meta-satire of the show, each new banger is both a razor sharp pointed anthem about problematic issues pervasive in modern (though we seem to be stepping back quite a bit) society.

This week’s episode of Ziwe will take on one of the more iconic elements of the IG Live version of Baited where white interviewees seem to have quite a bit of trouble responding to the question “How many black friends do you have?” There were a myriad of hilariously awkward answers, but the response of “4 to 5” was so frequent, it seemed like shorthand for being an ally without thinking about it too much.

So, here’s Ziwe’s latest single, “Black Friends”, dedicated to performative allyship via having black friends. Please enjoy/make this go viral here.

Pick of the Day: Picture This! 6/23

atsuko okatsuka, brandie posey, live animation, mike hollingsworth, mike l mayfield, naked comedy, picture this, rushtix, stand up comedy, virtual comedy

Yes, live in-person comedy is coming back. That doesn’t mean that worthwhile virtual comedy is going away. In fact, there still is and will be plenty of great shows to be viewed from anywhere so long as you’ve got Internet for a long time to come.

One such upcoming show is the always genuinely fantastic Picture This! that combines splendid animation and stand-up all into one, in real time. It has toured everywhere and featured both many of your favorite comedians and animators from your favorite animated series for years, both pre-pandemic and during lockdown.

This virtual edition of Picture This! is being presented by RushTix on Wed. June 23rd at 7:30PM PT/10:30PM ET. and is set to feature Mike Hollingsworth, Mike L. Mayfield, Bryan Brinkman, Victoria Montes, Rotimi Olowu, comedy from Atsuko Okatsuka, and host Brandie Posey and more! Honestly, as the screen will be shared, you’ll have a better shot of seeing what the animators are up to than you might have if you were sitting in the back in person.

Tickets are only $10 and you can (and should) go get them here.

John Oliver’s Sexual Wellness Blanket Prank Are Actually Causing Local News Station to Change

May 27, 2021
News
john oliver, last week tonight, sexual wellness blanket

(via Deadline)

One of the many benefits to not having Trump around as POTUS is that John Oliver can focus on those niche issues that you, me, and everyone else overlook, but is very crucial to examine.

Case in point: this past week’s deep dive segment on Last Week Tonight went damningly in on sponsored content on local news station that wheel and deal in sponsored content. Despite laws being in place to prevent such practices, Oliver pointed out how some local news station barely notify their viewers that they’re watching products/brands buying air time to promote their goods, making it seem as though this potentially could be viewed as truthful news story or interview.

To the further point and get back to his penchant for “gonzo comedy”, Oliver created a “sexual wellness blanket” that he was easily able to get a segment on in several local news stations around the country. There was no actual backing to any of the claims made for the sexual wellness blanket, but that didn’t make seem a difference to the stations taking Last Week Tonight’s money to sell blankets.

Please enjoy the brilliant segment from Last Week Tonight here.

Following Sunday, a number of stations, especially the ones that took Oliver’s bait are reviewing their practices and are aggressively pleading that they integrity is important to them and that they do actually distinguish between their legitimate journalism and “non-news lifestyle” segments. Still, they’re re-examining their protocol as to not get hoodwinked again since, clearly, the sexual wellness blanket is just a blanket and no one dared check up on that.

So, cheers to John Oliver and company speaking truth to power yet again with some comedy/satire and actually making a difference.

Steve Coogan Set to Tour UK & Ireland as Alan Partridge in 2022

May 26, 2021
News
alan partridge, steve coogan, tour

Live, in-person shows are happening sporadically and with varying degrees of caution (Lollapalooza this Summer, for instance, seem a bit hasty) throughout the rest of 2021. However, looking towards 2022, you can expect a lot more out of, well, everything.

Just announced today, Steve Coogan will once more take up the mantle as his beloved character, Alan Partridge, and tour all around the UK and Ireland in April & May of 2022. As Partridge says in this announcement, he wants to lay out a “stratagem” on how the UK can heal from all the turmoil and havoc of the last year. Partridge, as a stubborn, self-important broadcaster, will, of course, have the answers.

Tickets for Stratagem with Alan Partridge go on sale this Saturday at 1AM PT in the morning at www.alanpartridgelive.com.

Pick of the Day: Jackie Kashian Live-stream from Comedy Works South 5/28

May 26, 2021
News
comedy works, jackie kashian, live stream

It was our thought and hope that comedy venues would take this time of the pandemic to outfit or configure themselves so they could live-stream their in-person performances and we’re really very glad that is indeed happening.

In fact, you can see one of our all time favorites, Jackie Kashian, who kept her stand-up sharp throughout lockdown we might add, headlining Comedy Works South (that’s in the Greater Denver Area) this weekend. A live-stream of her Fri. May 28th performance with a live audience from the club will go live at 6:15PM PT/7:15PM MST/9:15PM ET (and replay Sat. May 29th at the same time).

Tickets are only $15 and, of course, there is NO 2 drink/item minimum. Go get your tickets for it right here, right now.

Junior High to Host an Entire Anti-Racism Seminar Just for Venues

May 25, 2021
News
anti racism, junior high, los angeles

As venues are shaking off their dust to reopen their doors for performances in the not so distant future, it is and will be important to leave all the toxic practices that ran rampant through live performances of all kinds behind, especially when it comes to comedy.

So, the good folks at the all-inclusive community arts and performance space, Junior High, have lined-up a very special seminar designed specifically for venues/bookers and how to work anti-racism in their daily operations and booking.

Specifically:

Hosted by Ida Yalzedeh, PhD, this seminar will take an abolitionist and historically-minded approach.

Topics will include:
— Police independent responses
— Racial bias in booking + curation
— De-escalation + conflict mediation

You don’t have to look too hard to find instances in comedy throughout its entire history where these issues were more than applicable and could have used some more enlightenment and grace.

The seminar is set to go live on Zoom at June 8th at 12PM PT/3PM ET and run for four hours. NOTE: Please reach out (contact@juniorhighlosangeles.com) if you’d like to participate but the ticket price is out of budget — we [Junior High] understand the financial hardships venues are facing and our priority is making Los Angeles a safer and more equitable place.

Get more details/book your slot here.

Also, in general, support Junior High and all that they do (and know that they’ve got a brand, new shiny location at 603 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale, CA)

Pick of the Day: Clown Zoo (Wednesdays in LA)

May 25, 2021
News
bill o'neill, chad damiani, charlie barnett, christina catherine martinez, clown, clown zoo, Corey Podell, ian bratschie, juzo yoshida, max baumgarten, natalie palamides

As we’re carefully getting back into listing in-person shows, we’d like to one of personal favorites that’s a true gem and as distanced and outdoors as it possibly can get.

Clown Zoo, featuring many of LA’s finest clown/idiot performers, happens in one of the former exhibits of the Old LA Zoo nestled in Griffith Park. The likes of Chad Damiani, Natalie Palamides, Christina Catherine Martinez, Max Baumgarten, Courtney Pauroso, Juzo Yoshida, Corey Podell, Bill O’Neill, Ian Bratschie, and Charlie Barnett put on a “mask show” where they don masks and act out/improvise what is very likely, one of the most delightfully ridiculous things you’ll have seen in a long time. Oh, and it’s usually brilliantly live scored as well.

Join in on the rambunctious fun every Wednesday at 12:30PM PT at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park (4801 Griffith Park Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90027).

Get Just a Little Bit More of a Peek at Season 5 of Rick & Morty with Their Third Traiiler

May 24, 2021
News
rick and morty, season 5, trailer

The arrival of the fifth season of Rick & Morty is oh so close (it’s next month) and, as such, Adult Swim has been giving us all tidbits through multiple trailers over the last month. Each has been pretty jam packed with the misanthropic misadventures of Rick & Morty as well as Summer, Beth, and Jerry.

There’s no telling how self-reflexive or satirical they’ll get this season (how could they get more meta than the Story Train?), but it should be more of the existential, devil-may-care-ish humor that has made it one of TV’s most popular shows. See for yourself in Rick & Morty Season 5 Official Trailer #1, #2, and, as of this weekend, #3.

Then, of course, make a reminder for Sun. Jun. 20th 8PM PT/11PM ET on Adult Swim for the season premiere.

OK, So We’re Going to List Some Outdoor Stuff Now (So Long As It’s Safe)

May 24, 2021
News

Throughout the last year and two months, we’ve done our best to make sure to both not further the transmission of COVID-19 and stay on the ball of live comedy that was happening, almost all of which has been virtual. For many, including us, it has been a frustrating time to figure out comedy like it has never been figured out before.

Since the vaccination rollout is continuing to move forward, we will, you’ll be happy to know, start listing some outdoor shows/mics as we once did.

That said, we will still be taking the safety regarding the pandemic (which isn’t over) into consideration when curating in person shows/mics in addition to our normal curated taste.

When sent in-person events, we will be thinking about any or all of the following:

-Is it outdoors?
-Are you checking for vaccination cards/negative COVID-19 test that’s less than 48 hours old?*
-How will be people be socially distanced?
-Will there be signage for distancing/precautions?
-Are there measures for contract tracing?
-Are you ticketing this event (even if it’s free) or doing advanced sign-up/sign-up ahead of time if it’s an open mic?
-If running an open mic, do you have have slot/performer limit? If so, what is it?
-What are plans for entrances and exits, both for audiences and performers?
-Will face coverings/masks be required or encouraged (especially if there’s food or drink available/being sold)?
-What will the protocol be for using mics/mic stands/etc. for performers?
-What is the “green room” situation for performers/staff?
-Will there be a COVID officer/point person checking in on social distancing and masks?
-Is there clear language about accountability in regards to something like getting infected with a virus?
-Are performers being compensated (especially if it’s a ticketed show)?

*NOTE: temperature checks do not account for asymptomatic carriers of the virus

Feel free to e-mail us here or tag us @thecomedybureau on socials for listing consideration at The Comedy Bureau.

Note, at this time, doing shows indoors still seems a little rushed to us and we’ll be holding off a little while longer. Please, for the benefit of us all (whether you want live comedy to come back to its dark, cramped quarters), stay safe and healthy and get vaccinated if you haven’t done so already.

Pick of the Day: Johnny Pemberton at Nowhere 6/8

May 24, 2021
News
johnny pemberton, nowhere comedy, stand up

Johnny Pemberton is one of the most dynamic comedians to watch, no matter what he’s doing or where he’s performing. His wild characters and his absurdist stand-up were and remain one of our favorite things to watch.

In fact, we always will hold Kiss My Ass with Dicker Troy (a mystical truck driver/DJ played by Johnny Pemberton) and Josh Fadem at The Satellite LA as one of our all time favorite shows to go to.

Pemberton is set to do a virtual headlining gig at Nowhere Comedy Club next month and we have no doubt that he’s going to make something special out of the virtual comedy space.

Johnny Pemberton at Nowhere is set to go live at Tues. Jun. 8th at 6PM PT/9PM ET. Tickets are $10 for earlybirds and $15 for GA and you can (and should) go get them here.

Adult Swim Has Ordered Four Spin-Offs from Its Most Beloved Series (Rick & Morty, Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell)

May 21, 2021
News
albama jackson, aqua teen hunger force, aquadonk sidepieces, donald faison, rick and morty, robot chicken, vindicators, your pretty face is going to hell

In a sweeping move, Adult Swim, which is still operating on late night hours on Cartoon Network, and then massively online and throughout streaming services afterwards, their latest round of series orders are spin-offs. For the majority of their programming, Adult Swim has been fiercely dedicated to original programming that would very likely not have a home anywhere else (at least until the ascent of Netflix and, as of late, FX’s foray into animation).

So, announced this week, Adult Swim has bestowed series orders on The Vindicators (Rick & Morty’s satirical version of The Avengers), Alabama Jackson (a spin-off from the Robot Chicken Universe), Aquadonk Side Pieces (the lives of the lesser and other characters of Aqua Teen Hunger Force) and an animated version of Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell.

It should stand as a testament to how truly prolific Adult Swim is with a slate full of new darkly comedic (or, in some cases, horrific) animated series in addition to these four spin-offs (we’re personally excited to see how far The Vindicators is going to skewer the MCU, DCEU, and whatever else universe sourced from popular IP of any kind).

We’re sure that the continued troubles of in-person, live action production during the pandemic (which, again, isn’t over) has further encouraged a focus on animation rather than shooting shows and movies with real people and that helps in this case too.

Since Bill Maher Got COVID-19, Lisa Curry Decided to Do Her Own Ep. of Real Time

News
bill maher, hbo, lisa curry, parody, real time, satire

You might have heard that, even though he has been fully vaccinated, Bill Maher contracted COVID-19 amidst shooting his award winning weekly series, Real Time with Bill Maher. Maher was asymptomatic and taping for last week and this week were postponed.

Since the voice of Real Time is so “crucial” to the national conversation on any hot button issue, comedian and writer Lisa Curry, on her own, stepped up to the plate to do her own virtual, completely safe episode of Real Time (that would be hosted by someone a little more with the times).

Curry even assembled a stacked panel of Subhah Agarwal, Maggie Maye, and Calise Hawkins to riff over the news (over Zoom) just so you could have the full Real Time experience. Go enjoy Real Time with Lisa Curry and get your Real Time fix here.

Please Enjoy Patti Harrison’s Very First (and Bewitching) Panel Appearance on Late Night

May 20, 2021
News
jimmy kimmel live, patti harrison

Patti Harrison has frankly deserved more air time on late night to do whatever she wants for quite some time. That said, she has gotten to be a correspondent on The Tonight Show a few times and her visibility keeps rising with being included in plenty of showcases and booking movie and TV roles including her co-starring role with Ed Helms in the upcoming Together Together.

Still, she hasn’t done late night by sitting on the couch for a proper late night interview where she could add her oh so subtle, yet very sharp and deliciously dark sense of humor to a traditional back-and-forth with slickly suited talk show host.

Harrison proved our notion last night in her very first full panel interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, done in promotion of Together Together, by beautifully explaining how she got kicked off Twitter, apologizing to bisexual people and their specific preference in cookies, and her ongoing thing with Trump.

Please enjoy Patti’s full interview here and watch her in more things so she will end up in more things.

Pick of the Day: Your Late Night Show Tonight with Harvey Guillen 6/18

News
harvey guillen, late night, rushtix

OK, so here’s the situation. Season 3 of What We Do in the Shadows is in production, but the premiere date for said season 3 is still a ways away. As such, you won’t get to see Harvey Guillen reprise his beloved role as a quietly seething, conflicted familiar for the vampires of Staten Island, Guillermo.

However, you can catch Harvey be himself as a talk show host on the ever-changing, ever-evolving late night show, Your Late Night Show Tonight, that changes formats with every new host that they get each month. Guillen along with a choice writing staff and a crack production team that has done any sort of late night show  imaginable for years (including one that involved the apocalypse happening in “hosting the show” “from a bunker”).

Your Late Night Show Tonight with Harvey Guillen will go live, via RushTix, on Fri. Jun. 18th at 7PM PT/10PM ET. Tickets are only $15 and you can (and should) go get them here.

R.I.P. Paul Mooney, 1941-2021

May 19, 2021
News
paul mooney

Oft, in this time, the role of comedy in “speaking truth to power” has been highlighted even at times when it would seem that nothing is all that funny (pandemic, global reckoning with white supremacy, climate change, etc. all at the same time). Paul Mooney is a comedian who truly embodied that ideal to the nth degree even at the occasional risk of making some audiences uncomfortable (as comedy that is satire sometimes does in order to make an undeniably salient point).

From writing for Richard Pryor to being the head writer of In Living Color to being the “black dude” in Chapelle’s Show‘s segment “Ask a Black Dude”, Mooney seemingly never backed down by holding society’s feet to the fire, especially when it calling out white supremacy, through his comedy. Ask a Black Dude was our very first exposure to Mooney and it was so striking that there was an even more sharply drawn, yet more calmly delivered voice on Chapelle’s Show than Dave Chappelle himself.

From there, we have always counted on Mooney to pull no punches with any of his takes on, well, anything.

After passing away from heart attack at 79 in Oakland, CA earlier today, we say rest in power, Paul Mooney.

Rory Scovel: Live Without Fear, One of Our Favorite Specials in Recent Memory, Will Be on YouTube 6/24

News
800 pound gorilla, live without fear, rory scovel, scott moran

Two years ago, we were fortunate and privileged enough to get a sneak peek at Rory Scovel‘s latest special Rory Scovel: Live Without Fear (and collaboration with director Scott Moran). We were blown away at the lightning-in-a-bottle that was captured through a handful of entirely improvised stand-up sets (there wasn’t even a never-before-seen-topic as there would be with Set List or a mere suggestion from the audience).

Even though we had no idea where else it would screen or how else would people see it, we wrote about it anyway because the fly-on-the-wall look at Scovel’s daredevil-ish stand-up antics was inspiring. In fact, it was moving in a way that we hadn’t really felt in a comedy special, perhaps, ever before. In fact, it made our 100 Best List for 2019 because it was really that damn good and there was still no news as to how or where or when people could go watch Rory Scovel: Live Without Fear.

So, it’s truly thrilling news to know that 800 Pound Gorilla Media is going to release Rory Scovel: Live Without Fear on YouTube come Thurs. Jun. 24th. We’ll hold off on saying anymore for now. Until then, you can a look at an exclusive clip of the comedy docu-special over at Vulture.

Since the good majority of folks have been (hopefully) staying safe at home, there has been plenty of time for people to get perspective on their life, drive, purpose, etc. Well, that’s the hope anyway. Former TV development executive, comedy manager, and indie comedy producer Holly Gabrielson has indeed given plenty of thought as to go from helping orchestrate a comedy variety show on gondolas to what might be next for her. Thus, she discusses social justice, healthcare, and the entertainment industry at large and how it specifically affects comedy with TCB’s Jake Kroeger. Ziwe Takes on Beauty Standards by Interviewing Eboni K. Williams & Her New Banger “Wet Diaper (Goo Goo Gah Gah)”

May 18, 2021
News
eboni k williams, showtime, ziwe

ZIWE is only on its second episode and it already, for our money, is in the running for one of the funniest shows of the year (and yes, we know that there’s plenty of year left).

This past Sunday, Ziwe set her sights on the topic of beauty standards and gave it her iconic ultra-subversive-while-being-meta-and-self-accountable treatment. She had a spirited back-and-forth with Eboni K. Williams, the first black cast member on Real Housewives of New York, on all things revolving beauty, especially when race comes into the picture. Again, is anyone doing as interviews as fun and wickedly clever as Ziwe?

Then, for her musical performance this week (Ziwe has been her own iconic musical guest for these first two episodes and we’re here for it), Ziwe nailed pop culture’s obsession with infantilizing women, especially when it comes to actresses and pop stars with such a hysterical ‘banger’, “Wet Diaper” (Goo Goo Gah Gah). Please enjoy it and the man feeling very uncomfortable in it here.

Again, we’ve been saying it before it premiered, as it premiered, and right here, right now: watch ZIWE (Sunday nights at 11PM on Showtime, then streaming on Showtime Anytime afterwards)
