Eban Schletter Launches Fantastical Musicorium Podcast

The comedic musical talents of Eban Schletter have finally found their way to a podcast as Schletter has just launched a podcast “Fantastical Musicorium” featuring original music by him that are, new, deep cuts, and everything in between.

Given that Eban is Paul F. Tompkins piano player on many occasions, there’s a good chance, we’d say, of great music coupled with some brilliant silliness to come through, so give Fantastical Musicorium a listen.

Sacha Baron Cohen To Receive Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award From BAFTA/LA

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Los Angeles is bestowing their highest honor in comedy to none other Sacha Baron Cohen.

As Cohen is definitely a star of this latest era of comedy, you might be tempted to think such a distinction might be a little premature, but do realize that Ali G was on the air 15 years ago.

So, booyakasha.

Open mics are an unavoidable part of being a comedian. They’re often brutal and, in fact, you shouldn’t think of them any other way, but they are also crucial to developing your voice as a comedian so when you do a big show, you don’t fuck it up (hopefully).

Scott Moran’s amazing series Modern Comedian for PBS Digital follows up and coming comedian Subhah Agarwal who grinds it out at open mics in NYC as much as humanly possible and exhibits how hard work and focus can be quite rewarding in comedy. Watch the episode here.

Jason Sudeikis Added to Gary Sanchez Productions Version of a Romantic Comedy, “Sleeping With Other People”

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s production company Gary Sanchez is filling out their cast with Jason Sudeikis and the already cast Kirsten Dunst for one of their latest feature projects “Sleeping With Other People”, which based off the premise, would be the way that Ferrell and McKay would make a romantic comedy.

Keep an eye out for this one as it might just turn out to be a nice indie rom com.

Patton Oswalt stopped by Conan last night in promotion of the second season of The Heart, She Holler on Adult Swim, which took more than a little explaining to do just to set up a clip, and, even then, is just best summarized in Oswalt’s warning before tuning in.

Watch the clip here and definitely watch The Heart, She Holler no matter how weird it is because it’s pretty funny once you realize fluids won’t come out of your TV while watching.

Joan Rivers Facing WGA Expulsion Hearing Over ‘Fashion Police’ Next Month

While the writers of Fashion Police are still technically on strike, little news has come for them making headway in receiving their unpaid wages. Either way the hearing goes will be a precedent set for being a staff writer on certain shows.

A Somewhat More Official Announcement of The New SNL Cast Members

Weeks ago, some source leaked out the new cast members of this upcoming season of Saturday Night Live, which was kept at a level of heavily rumored at the time. Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, Noel Wells, John Milheiser, and Mike O’Brien were all announced, but not officially by NBC, as joining SNL in the coming weeks. In short, we don’t like things that are just heavy rumors.

Yet, this post at The Hollywood Reporter doesn’t include the phrase “heavily rumored”, so we’re about posting about this news now and can say congratulations to all the new cast members as well as the new full time SNL staff writers Brooks Wheelan, Claire Mulaney, and Michael Che.
