In case you’re wondering what original series you’re missing out on NBC’s comedy streaming service Seeso, they were nice enough to put the entire first episode of Thingstarter, which blends a scripted show about a dysfunctional innovative products company with real life focus group sessions, on YouTube.
Watch it here, then go get your Seeso subscription here.
We’ve got the line-up for you here and, per usual, it’s a doozy.

More and more, we’re thinking that Joel Hodgson is doing a reboot/revival better than anyone before him.
A record setting Kickstarter campaign and a fantastic cast of Jonah Ray, Hampton Yount, Baron Vaughn, Patton Oswalt, and Felicia Day have really made the revival of Mystery Science Theater 3000 pretty swell.
Series creator Joel Hodgson is making sure that the new version of MST3K will not fall victim to reboots of your favorite things from your childhood and, in our opinion, done a very great job every step of the way.
Bringing on former Daily Show with Jon Stewart head writer Elliott Kalan as a head writer is yet another good move by Joel. Also, it’s another example of how widespread the influence is from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart alums these days.
With all these pieces in place, we have a feeling that this MST3K relaunch will pay plenty of homage to the old show, but also be one that will feel right at home in the comedy landscape of 2016.
Just as the Kardashians are sticking around, The Bellacourts aren’t going anywhere either.
Another Period, Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome’s series based on real turn-of-the-century opulence is going to keep showing off the 1% of the 1900s being as wasteful as they can possibly be for a 3rd season at Comedy Central.
Season 2 doesn’t premiere until next month on June 15th, but the renewal just got announced today, which hopefully means Comedy Central knows something really great about season 2 that the rest of us don’t.
Bo Burnham’s next special is just around the corner.
Next week, on Friday, June 3rd, Make Happy, the follow-up to the masterful “what.”, will start streaming on Netflix.
If you’re wondering how Bo could possibly top himself after a special that was so succinctly satirical of the zeitgeist, just watch this trailer.

You may have a whole bevy of insults at the ready when it comes to shouting down those folks that are will to spend $5+ on a single cup of coffee.
However, leave it to those coffee addicts like Nick Youssef to really describe exactly how ridiculous drinking their joe at high falutin coffee shops really is.
FYI, it’s a track off his forthcoming album 1982 that’s set to release next week on May 27th from AST Records. You can (and should) pre-order it here.
Katie Nolan and her team at Garbage Time have tapped deep into the collective unconscious and developed this game that we’ve all unknowingly (or very intentionally for some of you out there) played in our own heads whenever watching tennis.
Watch her and SNL’s Katie Rich try to distinguish between the grunts you would hear in a tennis match versus the ones you might hear in the bedroom.
Angie Tribeca made a pretty great, giddy splash with its first season on TBS.
You’ll only have to wait two more weeks (specifically, Monday, June 6th) before the series returns to bring pure Naked Gun-esque absurdity back into our lives.
Until then, here’s a teaser.
Doors are at 8PM and the show starts at 9PM. Tickets are available at the door.

Many of you might be aware of the back and off stage drama that happens behind improv troupes. In fact, it would almost seem unbelievable that improv teams that seem so joyous and on-the-same-wavelength on stage would be bickering, jealous, etc. Yet, it happens and happens often.
However, Mike Birbiglia’s latest film Don’t Think Twice is bringing all of that light with a stellar cast of Keegan-Michael Key, Gillian Jacobs, Chris Gethard, Tami Sagher, Kate Micucci, and Birbiglia himself.
This trailer shows that Mike Birbiglia has a knack for this writing/directing thing.
Look for this to hit theaters on July 22nd.
Dan Soder’s very first hour stand-up special, ironically titled Not Special, will premiere tonight and do so at a somewhat reasonable hour (many stand-up specials air after midnight).
Tune in as we’re sure it’s well before your bedtime tonight. Even if it isn’t, it’s the weekend; live a little.

Team Coco must be a fun place to work.
Even when you’re caught redhanded for cheating your co-workers out of free food, it’ll be made into a really fun remote that probably involves way too much time and resources.
Watch the “food bust”, which even implicates people very high up at Conan, here.
There’s been a lot of unfortunate hullabaloo and controversy, much of which is unwarranted, surrounding the trailers for Paul Feig’s new all-female Ghostbusters.
Let’s this very enjoyable second international trailer put all of that nonsense to rest.
No matter your race, creed, religion, gender, or sexual identity, times are changing.
More and more shows are reflecting these changing times and digital platform Macro has a new show that will tell the particular story of how Boyle Heights, more commonly referred to as East LA, is handling 2016. That includes gentrification, gender and sexual identities, etc. The term “Latinx” has even been coined to be more inclusive than the traditional male-leaning “Latino”.
That will all be told through 7 different stories in the dramedy Gente-fied, created by Marvin Lemus and featuring/executive produced by America Ferrera.
FYI, It looks pretty good. Here’s the trailer.
One of Hulu’s more acclaimed comedy series, Casual, is returning on Tuesday, June 7th for its second season.
According to this trailer, the term “casual” is thankfully still confusing to Valerie, Alex, and Laura.

We had a feeling that Maria Bamford and Mitch Hurwitz might collaborate once again after Maria shining in season 4 of Arrested Development.
Fortunately, that really did come to pass and all these years later, Lady Dynamite, a single camera comedy based on the life of Maria Bamford, starring Maria Bamford is now a reality.
We all can now get a glimpse into how pugs complete Maria’s life so fully.
With all of that out of the way, know that all the episodes of The Lady Dynamite have just started streaming on Netflix this morning and it’s probably what you should be watching as soon as possible.
Simply put, Heather Anne Campbell (who just happens to be on the new Whose Line Is It Anyway?) is one of the best improvisors around right now.
At any comedy theatre that hosts improv comedy (especially long form improv), there is usually some sort of “cagematch” that pits improv teams of that theatre/school against each other and having the winner advance or return to face another competitor The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre has had a long tradition of doing this on a weekly basis in the theaters that they have on either coast. Also, at UCB, if your team loses, your run is over (i.e. go undefeated or bust).
In LA, the record for Cagematch wins is 50 (that’s almost an entire year of consecutively winning) currently held by the improv duo Heather & Miles. That record is about to get challenged by another improv duo, Hebecky Drysbell, which is currently at 49 wins.
An interesting twist to this historic Cagematch coming up is that one Heather Anne Campbell (whose work currently spans The Midnight Show, Fox ADHD, Party Over Here, and way more) is on both teams. Heather is the ‘Heather’ in Heather & Miles (Miles is another fantastic veteran improvisor Miles Stroth) and she is also one half of Hebecky Drysbell (Rebecca Drysdale, also another fantastic improvisor and writer on Key & Peele, is the other half).
So, next Wednesday at UCB Franklin, Heather will be playing both sides and simultaneously trying to break and defend her own seemingly untouchable Cagematch record. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the show is already sold out. However, per usual at UCB, there will be a stand by line on the night of.
If you can’t go to the Del Close Marathon in NYC this year, this might be the one of the big improv events to catch on this side of the country.
Presented without further comment, please enjoy what should be the basis for more interviews on TV going forward here.
The prank show Ladylike is not only going to do hidden camera shenanigans, but do so in a way to balance out the sexes. Catcalling, being treated as crazy for being a woman, etc. are going to get flipped by Nicole Byer and a whole great team of comedians including Megan Gailey, Jade Catta-Preta, Blair Socci, and more.
You saw a bit of that in the first trailer, but there’s more in this latest teaser.
Ladylike premieres Thursday, June 9th at 10:30PM on MTV.
One of the more imaginative Simpsons ‘Couch Gags’ to ever be drawn comes from accomplished animation director Michal Socha. For that, Socha featured a fever dream trip though the body in a very dark, stylized way.
Socha was just invited back and made an über clever couch gag that shows you how to make a Simpsons Couch Gag a la an IKEA instruction manual.
Hopefully, you can take a cue from this “guide” and make a couch gag with more ease than it takes to put together some of IKEA’s furniture.
Once a humble, but well crafted web series, Thingstarter is now a full-fledged show.
The Bilderbegers’ Thingstarter, the satirical parody of all things crowdfunding-related, got upgraded to a full-fledged show on Seeso and episodes start streaming today.
It’s one of many reasons that you should get a Seeso account or have a friend who will lend you another streaming service password.
