Pick of the Day: IN PROGRESS: A LIVE RORY SCOVEL EXPERIENCE (Goodbye LA Edition) 7/8

June 28, 2024
News
elysian, improvied, rory scovel, stand up

The time of Angelenos getting to enjoy the magic and majesty that is Rory Scovel and his comedy on a regular basis might be coming to a close soon. Scovel has given the LA comedy scene such revelatory comedy experiences (we will never forget when he did a set as a disembodied Werner Herzog voice and roasted the show’s house band for not accurately playing “space music”).

SO, DON’T YOU DARE MISS THIS GOODBYE LA EDITION OF IN PROGRESS SHOW AT THE ELYSIAN ON JULY 8TH at 7:30PM. Tickets are still available at $15 a pop and you best go get them right this second right here.

Pick of the Day: Jamie Loftus Presents: Santa University (in LA) 12/21

December 14, 2023
News
christmas, elysian, holidays, jamie loftus, los angeles comedy, santa claus

From the wild depths of Jamie Loftus‘ imagination (an imagination that’s responsible for doing a meta solo show about reimagining losing her virginity in several different versions) comes with her latest radical work, turning the idea of a holiday Christmas show inside out in the best, most absurd way possible.

Called Santa University, Jamie has created a “600 page musical” about an underachieving aspiring Santa trying to cut it at Santa University to be the one true Santa Claus. We have no doubt that this will be hilarious comedy mayhem that even the Grinchiest person could enjoy.

Jamie Loftus Presents: Santa University is set for Thurs. Dec. 21st at 7:30PM at The Elysian. Tickets are $15 and you best get them here.

Pick of the Day: Scary Little Krampus (in LA) 12/15

December 7, 2023
News
christmas, dani collucci, elysian, krampus, los angeles comedy, variety show

Truly, one of the most astounding holiday comedy shows in LA is Dani Colluci‘s Scary Little Krampus. Collucci gets done up as a fully formed Christmas demon, Krampus (it’s pretty much a big budget movie level make-up job) and hosts the sort of holiday comedy show for those who want Halloween to be all year long (looking at you, Jack Skellington).

Joining her on the dark side of Christmas will be a cadre of wonderful weirdos dedicated to make Fri. Dec. 15th at The Elysian a night to never forget (because you’ll be hilariously haunted by it?).

That’ll include:

  • Matt Olson

  • Freak Nature Puppets

  • Nnamdi Ngwe

  • Ryan Asher

  • Chad Damiani

  • Dean Evans

  • Camirin Farmer

  • Sam Walt Jones

  • Maureen SanDiego

  • Jessie Prez

  • Nate Pringle

  • JJ Phillips

  • Aerica Goetten

  • Andrew Goetten

Tix for Scary Little Krampus are going for $20 and we highly suggest that you snag them right now right here.

Pick of the Day: Why Won’t You Date Me? Live w/ Nicole Byer (in LA) 4/5

March 2, 2023
News
elysian, live podcast, los angeles, nicole byer, team coco, why won't you date me

One of the best podcasts about dating, comedy or otherwise, is Nicole Byer’s Why Won’t You Date Me? Sparked from Byer hunting down the truth of why past hook-ups wouldn’t date her, the podcast has evolved over the years into an expansive and candid look into the entire spectrum of dating, inclusive of all genders and sexual/relationship identities. Oh yeah, Byer also just happens to be one of the funniest people around today, which is why this one of an entire empire of podcasts that Byer hosts.

Nicole will be doing a very special live edition of Why Won’t You Date Me? at The Elysian come Wed. Apr. 5th at 7:30PM. Tickets are $35, but they ought to be worth more. Go get them before they sell out here.

Pick of the Day: “That’s What He Said” w/ Natalie Palamides (in LA) 3/6-3/11

February 14, 2023
News
chad damiani, courtney pauroso, elysian, kimberly stuckwisch, los angeles comedy, natalie palamides, nate, zach zucker

Natalie Palamides put out one of the most groundbreaking comedy specials in recent memory with Nate. Her solo show as a “lovable douchebag” named Nate really broke barriers as to what an hour of comedy, especially a big time special on Netflix, could be. It was truly a must-see experience that mashed up comedy, performance art, and gender dynamics in a provoking, glorious, and unforgettable show.

So, with that in mind, you’re probably going to want to see Nate return to “tape a pilot episode” of a “multi-cam sitcom”, which is indeed happening at The Elysian next month. Already, we’re so intensely curious as to what sort of hysterical chaos is set to ensue, especially since plenty of beloved LA clowns are joining in on what is being called, “That’s What He Said”. That cast includes Paul Mabon, Zach Zucker, Courtney Pauroso, Chad Damiani, John Norris, and Kevin Krieger.

You’ll almost have an entire week to catch it as That’s What He Said will be running from Mon. Mar. 6th-Sat. Mar. 11th at 8PM at The Elysian. Tickets are only $25 and don’t be surprised if they sell out pretty soon. Go get ’em here.

Pick of the Day: Kristin Lynne Wallace’s White Time (in LA) 1/26-1/28

January 16, 2023
News
elysian, experimental comedy, kristin lynne wallace, la comedy, whiteface

The Elysian’s very first festival of completely, never before seen experimental comedy shows started off with an unquestionable bang thanks to Kristin Lynne Wallace and her electrifying variety show White Time done entirely in “Whiteface”. Flipping power dynamics and twisting satire as far as she can as a “gift receipt to the Jim Crow era”, Wallace brought the house down for the inaugural Forget About Spaghetti Festival. The show ends up being a perfect combination of hysterical and sticking with you to think about its greater, far reaching commentary long after you leave the theater.

Thankfully, the Elysian is bringing much of its festival programming back for another round and Wallace’s White Time will get three performances from Thurs. Jan. 26th-Sat. Jan. 28th, all at 7:30PM. Tickets are only $12 and you best go snag them here ASAP.

Pick of the Day: Dead Pilots Society Presents: Brooks Wheelan’s Dead Pilots (in LA) 1/12

December 19, 2022
News
brooks wheelan, dead pilots society, elysian, live reading, los angeles comedy

The network TV axe is so very bloody these days. Not only are shows getting cut after a season, but shows that were renewed are having their fate reversed and consequently canceled. So, you’d figure that means more produced pilots are even less likely to make it to series than they were even a year ago.

Thankfully, the podcast Dead Pilots Society has returned for the first live LA show to make sure that some of these things actually see the light of day and are enjoyed by an actual audience. This edition of Dead Pilots Society will live read the first three episodes of a Brooks Wheelan pilot that were commissioned by Fox, but, as you can guess, never went beyond that.

There’s an amazing cast they’ve lined up for this live reading that will include:

  • Brooks Wheelan (SNL)
  • Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric)
  • Bobby Moynihan (SNL)
  • Alyssa Limperis (Flatbush Misdemeanors)
  • Kerri Kenney Silver (Reno 911)
  • Jermaine Fowler (Tuca and Birdie)
  • Mike O’Brien (AP Bio)
  • Jessica Lowe (Minx), and more.

Go get tickets ($20) to enjoy this live and in person at The Elysian come Thurs. Jan. 12th at 7:30PM. Do so here.

Pick of the Day: NATE by Natalie Palamides (in LA) 12/1-12/4

November 11, 2022
News
elysian, los angeles comedy, natalie palamides, nate, solo show

Perhaps you’ve gotten to see the brilliance of Natalie Palamides’ NATE via Netflix. If you haven’t, you might want to go do that right now and be awe struck at Palamides thrilling comedic dissection of toxic masculinity. OR, you could go see it live in person in 2022 at the Elysian Theater in just a couple weeks.

That’s right, Palamides’ award winning, critically acclaimed, star-turn making special is going to be put up for a special exclusive run at The Elysian on Dec. 1st, 3rd, and 4th (as a benefit for the theater). If you’re into anything experimental or you’re just a big comedy fan or if you’re wondering/hoping what sort of very good, very funny thing men need to see to have a figurative mirror shoved back at them in order for them to deal with their own reinforced bad behaviors, you really ought to not miss this.

Tickets are $25 and you need to go get them here because who knows when Natalie is going to be NATE again.

Pick of the Day: Anna Seregina: WORK IN PROG II (in LA) Various Dates in Nov.

October 28, 2022
News
anna seregina, elysian, los angeles comedy, solo show

For all the years that we’ve seen Anna Seregina, we’ve seen as true an artist as you can be as a comedian. Seregina has pushed, evolved, experimented, and grown all while being so damn funny as a stand-up, clown, actor, writer, and more. Whether it’s doing an impression of her doing stand-up or getting into post-modern comedic hijinks with her key comedic accomplice Kyle Mizono, we’re always thrilled to see what Seregina has up her sleeve.

So, Anna doing a work-in-progress show is something that absolutely not be missed. Lucky for Angelenos, Anna is mounting WORK IN PROG II at The Elysian next month. There will be three free rehearsals on 11/5, 11/8, 11/12, all at 6PM, leading to a final show on Tues. Nov. 15th at 7:30PM (tickets are $16 for that one).

Don’t miss one of the LA comedy scene’s truly brilliant voices and see her in this latest run. Get all details here.

Pick of the Day: David Gborie Does Time (in LA) 9/15

August 3, 2022
News
david gborie, elysian, la comedy, stand up comedy

Pre-pandemic, the brilliant, hysterical, and just undeniably gregarious David Gborie lit up stages across LA all the time with a million dollar smile and comedic takes on the world that were both 1000% honest, but so fun and inclusive at the same time.

In the midst of pandemic times, Gborie has since relocated to Denver and carved quite the spot for himself in that scene. While that leaves a David Gborie size hole in our hearts, we’re thrilled and thankful to hear that Gborie is coming back for a night to headline The Elysian.

Thurs. Sept. 15th at 7:30PM PT, David Gborie will indeed do time and you shouldn’t miss a single second of it. Tickets are $18 and you can and very much should go get them here.

Pick of the Day: Edinburgh Fringe Preview Day (in LA) 7/23

July 14, 2022
News
amber glancy, amirta dhaliwal, brianna ahlmark, business casual, edinburgh fringe, elysian, hannah pilkes, john norris, kate berlant, Kylie Brakeman, los angeles comedy, solo show

One of the world’s biggest and most preeminent performance festivals, especially when it comes to comedy, is the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Thousands of shows that happens over the course of a month and every square inch of Edinburgh, Scotland becomes a show or part of a show.

While that’s all brilliant and it’s a blur of dazzling, mind bending show after show after show after show after show, there is the issue of actually getting to Scotland and where to stay during the festival. That usually runs up a tab of several thousands of dollars and not a lot of folks just have that in a back pocket they forgot about.

So, The Elysian is doing LA a solid by putting on a whole entire day of preview shows for The Edinburgh Fringe  on Sat. Jul. 23rd featuring many of LA’s most daring performers putting on their solo shows one last time before they head abroad with it.

So that’ll feature

  • 11 AM – Amber Glancy: Wine Show
  • 12:20 PM – Brianna Ahlmark: Gertrude
  • 1:40 PM – Kylie Brakeman: Linda Hollywood’s Big Hollywood Night
  • 3 PM – Amrita Dhaliwal: Driving Around
  • 4:20 PM – Brian McElhaney: A Completely Untested Hour of Stand Up
  • 5:40 PM – Hannah Pilkes: Woman On the Verge
  • 7 PM – Kate Berlant: Like You’ve Never Seen Her Before
  • 8:40 PM – Business Casual: FERAL
  • 10 PM – John Norris: Mr. Chonkers

You can either buy tickets for the first five shows for $18 or second four shows for $26 or get access to all of them plus admission to Tomorrow! with Ron Lynch for $60. That’s still thousands of dollars cheaper than actually going to the Fringe if you weren’t tabulating the math. Go get your tickets here.

Pick of the Day: Lance Bangs Presents (in LA) 9/2

June 28, 2022
News
brandon wardell, Caleb Hearon, david gborie, elysian, fred armisen, girl god, ian karmel, la comedy, lance bangs, moses storm, natalie palamides, reggie watts, stand up comedy

If you Google “Lance Bangs”, you’ll first read that he’s an American Filmmaker. While that’s very true, Bangs is also a curator of the underground, seeking out those thrilling voices, often in and around comedy that you hope to bare witness to at a live comedy and/or music show. Having worked with the likes of Jackass to Tyler the Creator to Marc Maron to Nirvana to George Harrison to John Hodgman to his latest work on Moses Storm’s acclaimed HBO special, Trash White, Bangs is one of the most respected figures behind the scenes.

So, the fact that he’s curating a very special night of comedy at The Elysian come Fri. Sept. 2nd should be something you mark down on your calendar immediately, right after you immediately get tickets.

The line-up features some of the best folks he’s worked with that happen to be some of the best, most clever, most subversive, funny voices in comedy.

That includes:

  • Fred Armisen
  • Reggie Watts
  • Girl God
  • Natalie Palamides
  • Caleb Hearon
  • Moses Storm
  • Brandon Wardell
  • Ian Karmel
  • David Gborie

It’s such a stellar line-up and you can see all of that for only $20. Go get your tickets for Lance Bangs Presents @ The Elysian on 9/2 right here.

Pick of the Day: Going Up with Sara Schaefer-Free Rehearsals (in LA) 6/17 & 6/20

June 16, 2022
News
elysian, going up, how to do comedy, los angeles comedy, meta comedy, sara schaefer, solo show

Very few comedians are as studious about the actual art form as one Sara Schaefer, a very, very splendid comedian herself. Schaefer herself has done spectacular work in almost every discipline of comedy and almost on every level and now, with that wealth of experience and acclaim, is doing a perfectly biting satirical solo show on “how to become a comedian”.

Called, “Going Up”, Sara is currently developing this show that piercingly examines the scaffolding that the art form of comedy has propped up for itself and does what does comedy best, point out the most ridiculous parts of it for the purpose of making people laugh (see Sara’s lesson on anti-comedy for further understanding).

Going Up with Sara Schaefer is currently a work in progress show that has two upcoming dates at The Elysian on Fri. Jun. 17th and Mon. Jun. 20th at 6PM PT. Best of all, you can revel in Sara’s reckoning with stand-up comedy on those dates for FREE.

Pick of the Day: Joel Kim Booster Residency (in LA) 6/13 & 6/20

June 3, 2022
News
elysian, joel kim booster, los angeles comedy, stand up comedy

In case you weren’t aware, Joel Kim Booster is having a moment right now. His movie Fire Island is debuting on Hulu today, but you might have also alongside Maya Rudolph in the new trailer for Loot amongst other delightful roles he’s popped up in over the last couple of years. Also, his stand-up is as shrewdly sharp as it has ever been (especially when it comes to sexual and adoptee identity). That’s great news considering that Fire Island had started off at the ill-fated Quibi.

With all of that in mind, you absolutely should go see Joel live ASAP. If you’re in LA, there are two dates left on his residency at The Elysian on Mon. Jun. 13th & 20th at 7:30PM PT. Tickets are $20 and you better get them while you still can here.

Pick of the Day: Return of JAJ (James Austin Johnson) to LA (5/25-5/31)

May 17, 2022
News
better half, elysian, james austin johnson, los angeles comedy, rod stewart live, whammy media

It seems like decades ago, but it was only a handful of years ago when rumblings of the amazing comedy stylings of James Austin Johnson were rumbling around the comedy scene here in LA. His excruciatingly spot-on, yet alternative reality based impressions and off-the-wall conceptual bits made JAJ truly stand out in the expansive comedy landscape in Los Angeles.

Then, last year, he got SNL and kicked off the season with playing Joe Biden (and Trump) perfectly. We can’t think of another cast member that had a debut like that in the entire history of the Saturday Night Live. Consequently, that did require James to relocate to NYC and delight all five boroughs with his beautifully strange comedy.

James is making a trek back to LA for a week from 5/25-5/31 and is doing a flurry of shows including the 7 year anniversary of the stand-up show he started with Sam Wiles and Zach Pugh, Rod Stewart Live as well as his solo show Close To You at the Elysian.

If you’re somehow not already following comedy treasure James Austin Johnson on socials @shrimpjaj, do so now to keep up with these LA dates (or any other dates he has coming up). Get tickets for those shows at linktr.ee/Shrimpjaj.

Pick of the Day: Bake Stuff with Lindsay Adams (in LA) 5/11

April 25, 2022
News
elysian, lindsay adams, max beasley, renee gauthier

Though we may have said it before, we’ll loudly and proudly say it again: Bake Stuff with Lindsay Adams will make you forget about every other cooking show you’ve binged watch over the last several years.

For the uninitiated, Lindsay Adams takes the format of what would be your run of the mill, “uplifting”, conflict-free baking show and then works in her own brand of reformed mean girl comedy that includes plenty of going in deep with the audience, amazing “stupid games”, and, of course, some of the most delicious baked goods that you’ve ever had a live comedy show.

This is one of those shows that we loved and missed so dearly during lockdown and we’re thrilled that it’s making a comeback at The Elysian on Wed. May 11th at 7PM PT. Lindsay will be assisted by rising star comedian Max Beasley, feature a very special guest Renee Gauthier, and baking up a transcendent Chicago Steakhouse Carrot Cake.

The antithesis of your typical wholesome tv baking show, it’s chaos in the most fun way possible. Along with a live step-by-step baking demonstration, there’s stand-up comedy, audience participation, and delightfully stupid games. We’ll be making Chicago Steakhouse Carrot Cake, Renee Gauthier will be our special guest, and Max Beasley is our on-hand assistant. Because we know you’ll ask – YES, you’ll get to taste the cake!

Tickets are $16 and you’re definitely getting more than your money’s worth for this one. So, go snag your tickets right here right now.

Pick of the Day: Sweet Lorraine with Jordan Temple (in LA) 5/14

April 11, 2022
News
elysian, jordan temple, los angeles, solo show, sweet lorraine

OK, if you don’t already know the name Jordan Temple, you really ought to commit it to memory. As both a stand-up and a writer (of so many different types), he has set himself apart with one-of-a-kind voice that is subtle, introspective, wildly imaginative, and so powerfully funny.

For one, Temple has been writing on Atlanta, but he also wrote a play based off the awards season flub of Hidden Fences that was one of the most hysterical stage productions we’ve seen in years.

So, Jordan is embarking on a solo show, Sweet Lorraine, that celebrates the life of his grandmother, Lorraine, and, given his resume, it should be something wholly affecting and very special.

Don’t miss out on Jordan putting it up at The Elysian on Sat. May 14th at 8PM PT. Tickets are $16 and you can (and very much should) go get ’em here.

Pick of the Day: Greta Titelman’s Untitled Hour (in LA) 3/27 & 4/30

March 16, 2022
News
elysian, greta titelman, los angeles comedy, netflix is a joke fest, stand up comedy

We used to revel in seeing one Greta Titelman prowl and command the stage all across LA in 2019 and early 2020. You could often find us in the back of Genghis Cohen on Tuesdays (Greta’s weekly stand-up spot that she shared with the beloved Blair Socci) delighting in Titelman charming any sort of crowd into submission with her sharply drawn bits, stories, characters, etc.

Like so many of our favorite folks, we haven’t really got to them as they’re supposed to be seen (in an intimate, properly lit venue for an hour) for years, which has left our head often hanging like Charlie Brown while pacing indoors during quarantine.

2022 is thankfully a different story with all venues and shows and comedians getting up and running again and such splendid comedic talents as Greta getting to grace audiences with their exquisite comedy wares once more.

No more sullen pacing around for us, thank goodness.

Greta will actually be headlining the Elysian twice in the coming months with her untitled hour on Sun. 3/27 at 7:30PM PT and Sat. Apr. 30th at 9:30PM PT (specifically for Netflix Is a Joke Fest). Tickets are $16 and $20 respectively and you best go get them right now.

Pick of the Day: Playspace, The Clown Open Mic @ The Elysian (in LA) Thurs. Starting 3/17

March 11, 2022
News
clowning, elysian, los angeles comedy, open mic, paul schlesinger, rachel ho, will duncan

While stand-up open mics are fully back (and have been back for more than a minute now), the open mics for other disciplines in comedy haven’t gotten a chance to return to the world of the living as quickly.

Thankfully, that dynamic is starting to change and there are starting to be improv jams and the like again. Starting next week, there will be an open mic specifically for the clown community where they can try all of their interactive, partially strategized bits that have been part of some of the most fun things we’ve seen in comedy over the last few years.

Called Playspace, it’ll be at the Elysian every Thursday with doors/sign-up at 4:30PM PT and the mic starting on 5PM PT with aspiring clowns Will Duncan, Rachel Ho, and Paul Schlesinger hosting. Clowns, solo show performers, and ensembles welcome (though, again, it’s explicitly not a stand-up open mic). There’s no need to purchase or buy anything and you can follow @__playspace__ on IG to keep up to date.

Keep in mind that The Elysian still required proof of vaccination and masks indoors.

Pick of the Day: Ron Lynch Presents Hook Up! The “Tomorrow!” Dating Show (in LA) 2/12

February 10, 2022
News
amber preston, brady novak, dating game, elysian, los angeles comedy, mark fite, randy liedtke, ron lynch, steph tolev, valentine's

OK, if you have to go to something romance or dating themed this weekend because of Valentine’s Day in LA, we’d make sure to tell you about how much of corporate money-grab that Valentine’s Day is rooted in THEN tell you to enjoy one of our all-time favorite shows, no matter what time of year it is, Hook Up!, the dating game edition of Tomorrow! with Ron Lynch.

As far as dating games go, it’s not as wild in the sense of Temptation Island or Too Hot to Handle, but it’s still a crazy, absurd mutation of the classic Dating Game and we have loved it for that very reason for several years. Given our hatred of Valentine’s, it’s one of the only things that we’re looking forward to this weekend (also, we couldn’t care less about the Super Bowl).

Ron Lynch will be presiding as host of the romantic hijinks and chaos and be also joined by the stand-up comedy stylings of Steph Tolev, Brady Novak, Mark Fite, Amber Preston, and Randy Liedtke.

This edition of Hook Up! will go down at Tomorrow!’s new home, The Elysian, this Sat. Feb. 12th at Midnight. Tickets are still only $10 and you best go get them here.

Pick of the Day: Clown Zoo (in LA) 1/12 (@ Old LA Zoo) 1/29 (@ Elysian)

January 6, 2022
News
bill o'neill, chad damiani, christina catherine martinez, clown zoo, clowning, Corey Podell, courtney pauroso, elysian, Ian Braschie, jim venable, juzo yoshida, los angeles comedy, max baumgarten, natalie palamides

This first week of 2022 has been greeted with daily cancellations and postponements of all things of all shapes and sizes. So, we’re doing our darnedest to find what to look forward to in the coming weeks (that hopefully doesn’t get canceled or postponed either).

Clown Zoo, the outdoor comedy juggernaut (made our 100 best list again), faithfully served the LA area on Wednesday afternoons to provide one of the most fun, ridiculous live shows of this whole pandemic. The abandon and chaos with which they do an outdoor, traditional mask show is one of the surefire comedy bets we can always count on. They (and by they, we mean Natalie Palamides, Courtney Pauroso, Corey Podell, Chad Damiani, Christina Catherine Martinez, Max Baumgarten, Ian Bratschie, Juzo Yoshida, Bill O’Neill, and musical accompaniment by Jim Venable) are making a triumphant return for 2022 this month!

On Wed. Jan. 12th at their coveted time of 12:30PM PT, Clown Zoo will reconvene for their standing weekly show at the Old LA Zoo in Griffith Park (still outdoors and still socially distanced) and, as a new and thrilling entry in 2022, the Clown Zoo bunch will be going indoors at The Elysian for a monthly show starting Sat. Jan. 29th at 8PM PT (proof of vaccination and masks required).

The Wednesday show is still FREE, but you can (and very, very much should) snag your tickets for Clown Zoo Presents for $20 right here right now before they very likely sell out.

Pick of the Day: Goopy [w/Anna Seregina & Kyle Mizono] (in LA) 12/17

December 14, 2021
News
anna seregina, elysian, goopy, kyle mizono

2019 was a time where we got to see the groundbreaking duo that is Anna Seregina and Kyle Mizono go up at stages all around LA and dazzle audiences doing whatever the hell they wanted. Usually, that would involve one of them interrupting (or coming out of nowhere to help) the other and do some of the most beautifully absurd comedy we’ve seen in our tenure at TCB.

Fast forward to now, on this side of the pandemic and Anna and Kyle are starting to pick back up from where they left off and do sublimely ridiculous bits on more and more shows. In fact, they got their very own date for their very own show, Goopy, the show where Anna and Kyle do the aforementioned whatever-the-hell-they-want, at the still bright and shiny new Elysian Theater on Fri. Dec. 17th at 8PM PT.

Tickets are $12 and it would be a really great holiday gift to yourself or anyone who needs a hearty laugh for the insane times we live in. Get them here.

Pick of the Day: Kate Berlant: Live You’ve Never Seen Her (in LA) Tuesdays in Dec.

November 10, 2021
News
elysian, kate berlant, los angeles comedy, stand up comedy

Even though we’re just traipsing into the holiday season, The Elysian is doling out the gifts left and right. The latest gift or, we should say, set of gifts, is an entire month long residency from the one and only Kate Berlant. Previous to Dec. 2021 throughout the pandemic, you probably only got to catch Kate’s nuanced, self-reflexive, high brow silliness on some virtual shows or her wondrous podcast, Poog, with Jacqueline Novak.

Now, in LA, you’ll have the chance to see Berlant work out a brand new hour in person every Tuesday in December at LA comedy’s new favorite destination, The Elysian. Well, chances to see that are going fast as most of the shows are sold out already and tickets for a date that was just added Dec. 28th are still available for $20.

Go get them right now before they sell out again!
