Reality TV purports to show strangers finding true love, but there is so much that goes into casting and producing such a thing that it’s hard to imagine it being truly genuine.

Thankfully, Caroline Doyle and Emily Kob are bringing you unfiltered truth when it comes to a comedy dating game show with their show, OK Stupid, by having actual blind date on stage with a beloved local comedian.

For this edition, fast rising NYC comedy up and comers Marley Gotterer, Julia Desmond, and Evan Lazarus will be joining Doyle and Kob through all the delightful blind date comedy chaos. This next edition of OK Stupid is set for this Friday, May 3rd at 10PM at Union Hall. Tickets are only $15.64 and we highly suggest getting them here.

OK, if you have to go to something romance or dating themed this weekend because of Valentine’s Day in LA, we’d make sure to tell you about how much of corporate money-grab that Valentine’s Day is rooted in THEN tell you to enjoy one of our all-time favorite shows, no matter what time of year it is, Hook Up!, the dating game edition of Tomorrow! with Ron Lynch.

As far as dating games go, it’s not as wild in the sense of Temptation Island or Too Hot to Handle, but it’s still a crazy, absurd mutation of the classic Dating Game and we have loved it for that very reason for several years. Given our hatred of Valentine’s, it’s one of the only things that we’re looking forward to this weekend (also, we couldn’t care less about the Super Bowl).

Ron Lynch will be presiding as host of the romantic hijinks and chaos and be also joined by the stand-up comedy stylings of Steph Tolev, Brady Novak, Mark Fite, Amber Preston, and Randy Liedtke.

This edition of Hook Up! will go down at Tomorrow!’s new home, The Elysian, this Sat. Feb. 12th at Midnight. Tickets are still only $10 and you best go get them here.

Our Bureau Director Jake Kroeger is at it again and by “it”, we mean attempting to date an entire audience rather than waste time on dating apps.

Yes, Jake Kroeger Dates the Audience returns to the Lyric Hyperion a week after Thanksgiving on 11/29 for an attempt at a meaningful connection/validation for Jake of any kind.

You’re cordially invited no matter who you are or what your relationship status is because it doesn’t have to be anything serious (or it even could be a “friend date” because that’s a thing, right?)

Trepany House and Steve Allen Theater are still standing and shows that you should see are still happening.

One of our favorite shows that happens on their stage is the Tomorrow Show with Ron Lynch’s Hook-Up!, a great spoof of The Dating Game. Valentine’s Day is well past us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still all make heavily poke fun at love, relationships, and trying to date.

Hook-Up! is happening this Saturday at midnight. Tickets are $8 and you can (and should) get them here or at the door.

The Tomorrow Show with Ron Lynch takes the idea of The Dating Game and mutates it into this wonderful late night, absurdist version of someone trying to go on a date with a bachelorette. It’s absolutely one of our favorite things to go see.

One of LA’s longest running midnight comedy shows hosted by one of LA’s comedy treasures, Ron Lynch, does a delightfully mutated version of The Dating Game in Hook-Up!

Whether you’re into Valentine’s Day or believe that it’s a corporate mandated holiday that constricts us all into the idea of monogamy, it’s great to see a dating game that pits someone looking for love around a bunch of crazy people.

Catch it this Saturday night at midnight, Feb. 13th at Trepany House @ Steve Allen Theater. $8.
