12 Years of Voicemails From Todd Glass to Blake Wexler Is 2018′s First Great Comedy Record

This album is compilation drawn upon from 12 years worth of archives of voicemails indeed from Todd Glass to Blake Wexler.

It’s also a beautiful example of what friendship can be between comedians, men, artists, etc. as well as how far comedians can push jokes with each other. We’d like to add that Glass might be one of the best voicemail-recording-artists of all time.

Get 12 Years of Voicemails from Todd Glass to Blake Wexler and hear and enjoy all of this for yourself.

It’s been more than awhile (and much longer than we prefer) since this show has been around, but, thankfully, We Still Like You is coming back.

All the comedians booked tell a story in which they are definitely not the hero. At the end of each story, the audience cheers “"We still like you!“ in act of forgiveness. Per usual, the line-up is great.

Tickets are $5 and you can get more info here.

Watch Stars and Co-Creators of Corporate Jake Weisman and Matt Ingebretson’s Interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers

We’re thrilled that Matt and Jake’s first time on late night is because they are the stars and the co-creators of their first TV series, Corporate.

In our opinion, they were prime for a stand-up spot for quite some time, but doing panel interview for your TV show is pretty fantastic too.

Watch and enjoy them further impressing the dark brand of humor in this interview with Seth Meyers.

Then, for the love of whatever you believe in, watch Corporate premiere on Wed. Jan. 17th at 10PM.

Amazon to Stream Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for Free This Weekend

Following the big Golden Globes wins for Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Amazon wants to make a big push, kind of like they did with Transparent when the critical acclaim for the series started rolling in, for more viewers.

For the purposes of bingeing, the series only has 8 episodes thus far, but they are almost an hour long each. Plan accordingly.

Equal parts coming-of-age story and thriller involving an alleged sex criminal, Flower not only seems like a timely movie for this year, but yet another welcome work that is co-written by Matt Spicer (co-writer/director of Ingrid Goes West) and a film that also appears to be a breakout role for Zoey Deutch.

See for yourself in the trailer.

Flower has a limited theatrical release scheduled for Mar. 16th.

Fairfax Theater, LLC Takes Over Silent Movie Theatre from Cinefamily

Fairfax Theater, LLC Takes Over Silent Movie Theatre from Cinefamily

One of the sad losses in LA venues in 2017 was Cinefamily. Also, it happened in disastrous fashion as its downfall was the beginning of the wave of sexual harassment and abuse claims that has been reverberating through every inch of the entertainment industry since.

It would seem now that it will be reopened under a new name as Fairfax Theater, LLC has been registered by the reported owner of The Silent Movie Theatre.

Just in case you forgot, Cinefamily hosted a number of comedy events including the Benson Movie Interruption, Wayne Federman International Film Festival, Supertight, and many more (as well as several screening of classic and cult comedies from all over the world).

Any other details as to what will happen and when that’ll be have yet to be announced, but we’ll keep you posted.

The Room to Play Nationwide for One Night Only This Wednesday

Though probably not through any design that Tommy Wiseau had thought of when he was making The Room (i.e. a tell all book about the making of his movie being made into an awards contender movie), his best/worst classic The Room is actually getting one night in hundreds of theaters across the United States.

That night is tomorrow, Wednesday, January 10th. You can find tickets for a theater near you (there should be plenty) here.

You’re not going to want to miss this. In fact, you might want to show up before the door time if you want to get a seat.

Comedy Winners and Seth Meyers’ Monologue for 75th Golden Globe Awards

January 8, 2018
Uncategorized
2018, golden globes, monologue, seth meyers, winners

The first awards monologue of the year from Seth Meyers probably has set the tone for many monologues to come this year as he immediately and often joked about powerful men being brought down for their past sexual abuse, assault, misbehavior, etc.

Watch it here.

Secondly, here are the winners:
BEST MOTION PICTURE (DRAMA)-“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”
BEST MOTION PICTURE (MUSICAL OR COMEDY)-“Lady Bird”
BEST ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE (DRAMA)-Frances McDormand, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”
BEST ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE (MUSICAL OR COMEDY)-James Franco, “The Disaster Artist”
BEST ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE (MUSICAL OR COMEDY)-Saoirse Ronan, “Lady Bird”
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN ANY MOTION PICTURE-Sam Rockwell, “Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri”
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN ANY MOTION PICTURE-Allison Janney, “I, Tonya”
BEST SCREENPLAY-Martin McDonagh, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”
BEST TELEVISION SERIES (MUSICAL OR COMEDY)-“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”
BEST ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES (MUSICAL OR COMEDY)-Rachel Brosnahan, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”
BEST ACTOR IN A TELEVISION SERIES (MUSICAL OR COMEDY)-Aziz Ansari, “Master of None”

It’s intriguing how Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is getting thrown into the dramatic category, but maybe that is where it has a better chance against the crowded field of prestige pictures that are indeed comedic in some way shape or form (Lady Bird, I, Tonya, The Disaster Artist)

Also, congrats on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel scoring wins in an also crowded TV field.

By the way, here’s the full list of winners.

We’ve been hinting at it in the past several weeks, but, as you can see with Three Billboards and Allison Janney beating out dramatic nominees in the Best Supporting Actress in Any Motion Picture category, comedy is very likely going to have an awards season unlike it has in a very, very long time.
