Packchella, the comedy music festival that is pretty much right at your doorstep here in LA and not in far away polo fields, returns to The Pack Theater next weekend.

For this year, they’ve got the likes of Eliza Skinner’s Skinner Alive, A Mel Brooks Burlesque Show, Zach Sherwin & Friends, a special episode of This Is Dark Matters where “Music Director Rich Devletian will be joined by an orchestra and a psychic as we attempt to complete Schubert’s Unfinished 8th Symphony with help from the maestro himself FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE!”, $1.000000 Identify That Song Game Show! with Kash Abdulmalik, and much, much more.

Sounds pretty swell to us (i.e. you should mark down on your calendars to

As always, all shows at The Pack Theater are Pay What You Can!

Blair Socci’s show that was inspired by a letter she wrote to Owen Wilson over a decade ago makes its debut in LA!

The delightful line-up will be reading letters they wrote to celebrities of their choice, which should make for a great evening in seeing of comedians that you’ve probably never seen before.

Tickets are $5 and you can (and should) get tickets here.

It’s been more than awhile (and much longer than we prefer) since this show has been around, but, thankfully, We Still Like You is coming back.

All the comedians booked tell a story in which they are definitely not the hero. At the end of each story, the audience cheers “"We still like you!“ in act of forgiveness. Per usual, the line-up is great.

Tickets are $5 and you can get more info here.

You’ve very likely enjoyed Josh Gondelman’s comedy via his writing on Last Week Tonight. Beyond that, you ought to know that Gondelman is a wonderful comedian that shows that you can be a positive, upbeat personality in comedy and still be really damn funny.

He’ll be headlining The Virgil in Silverlake/Los Feliz next week and we highly suggest that you go.

Tickets are $5 in advance here and $7 at the door.

For three years, Sauce has built themselves up as cozy, warm, wonderful stand-up show to watch in a private room at a delicious pizza bakery.  Perhaps, they might be the best comedy show at a LA pizzeria.

Come celebrate their three year anniversary with a line-up chock full of LA’s best (Nicole Byer, Debra DiGiovanni, Guy Branum, Ron Lynch), the great Sauce crew (Barbara Gray, Brodie Reed, Erin Lampart, and Jeff Wattenhofer) AND one of Sauce’s original founders and beloved LA son returned for an evening, Eric Dadourian.

As always, a $5 suggested donation is all you need for the show. Get more details here!

The other has free Prufrock Pizza and a nice, neat handful of our favorite performers. Also, it’s FREE.

We’re serious when we say that you should go to both our Mandatory Holiday Office Party at The Echoplex 12/12 and Water Cooler Talk at The Love Song Bar 12/5.

*We also have required for this event to have free popcorn

Deep Eddy Vodka will be presenting a curated menu of cocktails to ensure a “good time” will be had.

It looks like the time for the Trepany House at Steve Allen Theater is actually coming to an end, and, with it, The Tomorrow Show with Ron Lynch (an LA comedy institution as far as we’re concerned) seems to be ending as well.

Though it has been running for over a decade every Saturday at midnight, there’s only a month’s worth of ‘Tomorrow’ left and, as such, this week’s show is a special “MASH-UP!” that gives a sampling of Crapshoot!, Five Minutes or Die!, and Hook-Up! (i.e. the various fan favorite formats of Tomorrow).

So, please make sure you see this or one of the three other Tomorrows. You can (and should) get tickets for this week’s MASH-UP! here.

So, a show that’s specifically themed to losing her virginity 7 years ago hosted by the man she lost her virginity to sounds pretty great to us.

Also, in Jamie’s own words, there will be:

– A STUPID-ASS PLAY WITH ME N BARBIE
– FREE ZINES FOR THOSE WHO RSVP IN ADVANCE
– ENTERTAINMENT B/W SCENES FROM LUMINARIES SUCH AS:
Lizzy Cooperman, Mira Gonzalez, Christina Catherine Martinez, Mitra Joy,Caitlin Durante, Alana Levinson, Corie Johnson, MY PARENTS Jill andMike, MY BROTHER Ben, MY OBOE TEACHER
– NEW CARTOONS FROM ME JAMIE
– THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE YOUR PHOTOGRAPH WITH A MASSIVE SEVERED HYMEN WHO WILL TELL YOUR FORTUNE

We got to see this extremely fun show, Dungeon, awhile ago and it really has stand-up comedians taking the reins to a streamlined version of Dungeons & Dragons. More often than not, that means they play for what might be funnier rather than what’s prudent and wise on their quest.

John-Michael Bond hosts as a Dungeon Master and really blends stand-up and D&D almost seamlessly with this show. This latest edition this Sunday, July 30th will feature a great line-up of Jordan Temple, Kaseem Bentley, Jordan Doll, Barbara Gray and Christine Medrano.

Often in LA, there are comedy shows that, for a myriad of reasons, happen in non-traditional spaces (salons, vintage stores, teepees). The novelty of the atypical venue adds charm, but only a handful of shows actually lean in to whatever space they’re in.

Full Moon Comedy, hosted by Charlie Bury, Lindsay Adams, and Aaron Weaver,  takes advantage of being in the mystical supply and apothecary, The Green Man Store in North Hollywood. Guided meditations, prescriptions of crystals for comedians based on their sets, and actual folks that are in touch with the magical/spiritual/etc. world all happen at this show.

This latest edition of the show also has a fantastic line-up with Eddie Pepitone, The Sisters Puterbaugh, Renee Gauthier, and a very special ceremony from La Sound Healing.

Best of all, it’s free to attend. Get more details here.
