Regal Cinemas To Screen ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, The World’s End) On Aug. 22nd

In what might be an unprecedented event to promote a movie on its opening weekend, Regal Cinemas is screening what has been loosely coined as The Cornetto Trilogy (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and The World’s End), a trio of films directed by Edgar Wright, written by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, and starring Nick Frost and Simon Pegg on Thurs. So, basically, take Thurs. Aug. 22nd off.

Trailer for ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ Is Pretty Great/How to Do a Trailer

In a world full of trailers that spoil all the details of the movie, shows the best, funniest, most action packed moments, and basically make it so you don’t really have to see the movie comes the trailer for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Ben Stiller’s latest work as a director.

We don’t have much of an idea of what it’s about, what will happen in the movie, or even if it lives up to its adventure-comedy-drama genre category on IMDB, but, from the trailer, we think it’s going to be grand, funny, and something we want to definitely see come Christmas time.

Watch the trailer for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty on Apple Trailers now.

It is great news that Ron Swanson’s/Nick Offerman’s doppelgänger will be played by Sam Elliott, but a potential facial hair stare down doesn’t quite balance out yesterday’s announcement of Parks and Recreation cast members Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe leaving the show.

Modern Seinfeld Twitter Account Writer Gets Sitcom Writing Job

Jack Moore, the guy behind @seinfeldtoday getting a sitcom writing job isn’t an unprecedented phenomenon, though, still something definitely worth noting. Megan Amram, Kelly Oxford, Rob Delaney, Shit My Dad Says, Dadboner, and more names you might recognized from the Twitter-verse have gotten jobs, offers, deals, etc. from writing consistently funny stuff in 140 characters or less (in addition to their much longer form stuff).

In finding out about this story, we do wonder if the show that Moore is writing on was pitched or discussed at some point as a modern day Seinfeld.

Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel Are Making a ‘Crash Test’ Comedy Central Special

This is the type of move we’re hoping that Comedy Central would make. As the arena of cable network comedy is expanding in addition to the proliferation of comedy online, the old guard has to try some new things and the new thing of the day happens to be Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel doing a comedy special of their anything goes live show Crash Test.

And by anything goes, we mean we’ve been made to do an improvised pledge of allegiance to Crash Test, dissected Vin Diesel’s Facebook page, try to cheer up Pauly Shore’s former assistant who happened to be in the audience, and more.

We can’t wait to see what Scheer and Huebel come up with.

Watch Entire First Episode of MTV’s Hey Girl Now

MTV’s latest comedy show, Hey Girl, is promoted as a talking head/sketch hybrid series aimed at girls, but in watching the first episode, we have to say there’s plenty of fun to be had for both genders. We’re crediting the very smartly put together cast, staff, and crew of the show for making that possible.

Go see for yourself how funny Shelby Fero taking flirting advice or Laura Willcox challenging her boyfriend vs. her BFF on knowledge of her ex-boyfriend can be at the link.
