The CW Renews Crazy-Ex Girlfriend for 3rd Season and Jane The Virgin for 4th

CW is staying the course with their two comedy series that have garnered them critical acclaim and kept them from just being a network of DC Comics adaptations. That makes sense to us.

These renewals have thankfully come early and have prompted this Rachel Bloom tweet that we love, “BEHOLD ME, FOR I AM IMMORTAL AND WILL NEVER DIE #CrazyExGirlfriend”.

Women in comedy are definitely having a moment right now unlike they’ve had in decades past.

Not only are Tina Fey and Amy Poehler comedy power brokers, but there are more female producers, writers, and directors making female led comedy series and movies.

That being said, there is still a lot of stereotypes and prejudice that needs to be fought against. So, The Hollywood Reporter had a frank roundtable discussion with Amy Schumer, Ellie Kemper, Tracee Ellis Ross, Gina Rodriguez, Lena Dunham, and Kate McKinnon about carving out their niche in comedy.

You might just be surprised the sort of nonsense regarding women on screen that still exists in 2015 as well be proud of what the folks in this discussion have accomplished when you watch this…

Between the three, they’ve shot salmons out of a cannon, announced the year of the ass, and had a trick pregnancy. Know that they’re all doing important work.

The latest comedy recipients of the prestigious Peabody Award will be Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO, Inside Amy Schumer on Comedy Central, and Jane The Virgin on The CW.

If you take a look at winners from years past, comedy definitely has had an upswing with The Peabody Awards as of late and we hope that trend continues.

The shows will receive awards at a ceremony on May 31st hosted by Fred Armisen.
