Jim Gaffigan Comedy Pilot at CBS Being Redeveloped

We thought it would be kind of impossible that a pilot by Jim Gaffigan would just not get picked up and never be heard of again. Luckily, we were right and CBS hasn’t let it go to another network.

Here’s to hoping we see Gaffigan in a starring role on network television.

CBS Has Been Dropped at Time Warner Cable in NY, LA, Dallas; So What Will You Watch?

Having not reached a fee agreement since Friday, CBS is unavailable to Time Warner Cable subscribers in the major markets of NY, LA, and Dallas. This also means that Showtime will be unavailable as well.

Well, this leaves you more time to watch all the great comedy on FX, IFC, Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and so many other things amounting to virtually infinite entertainment.

The cast of doppelgangers for upcoming episodes of Parks and Recreation is shaping up quite nicely as Sam Elliott, and now Billy Eichner from Billy on the Street, will play Eagleton, rival town to Pawnee, equivalents of the original cast.

We wonder if they’ll get Randy from Funny People to play opposite Tom.

Netflix Now Allows Multiple Queues/Recommendations on One Account

We don’t think there’s any sort of conspiracy at work here, but it is pretty convenient to have multiple queues on your Netflix account when CBS is still working out a deal with Time Warner Cable.

So, load up on anything from Party Down to Arrested Development to maybe even something a little more obscure, but just as funny like Blackadder.

This Better Be Funny Ep. 81 Despicable Edition with Sean Patton

One of Jake and Jeremy’s favorite guests, the hilarious Sean Patton, who you should know from Conan, Fallon, Comedy Central, and more joins in for The Despicable Edition of This Better Be Funny. The “shameless story off" pits a really twisted story of an ex-girlfriend vs. really underground illegal boxing. What’s illegal and what’s twisted and who is telling which story AND does Sean win the prize of a cassette tape of his choice?

You’ll just have to listen to find out.

Also, you should listen because Jake got his car towed while recording this episode making it probably among the most expensive podcast episodes ever produced

There Will Be a Sam Kinison Biopic with Josh Gad Playing Sam Kinison

You should all be excited that a biopic of comedy legend Sam Kinison is closer to becoming a reality. A Kinison biopic has been in the works for awhile, especially since he passed away tragically before he was 40 by getting hit by a teenage drunk driver (In fact, there’s even a great oral history of Sam Kinison’s time in Houston by Kinison expert Julie Seabaugh today over at Chicken Scratch Comedy)

Also, here’s a fun fact: Richard Pryor and Sam Kinison both grew up in Peoria, Il. As people have tried for years, we wonder which movie covering the life of either Richard or Sam will come out first.

Also worthy of note, they’re cutting a step out of many fan organized projects these days by exclusively selling admission to the convention through a Kickstarter reward. Be sure, if you want to go, August 7th 5PM PST will be when the Kickstarter launches/tickets go on sale.
