Co-creator of The Man Show, original producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Daniel Kellison started a production company, HaChaCha, and is partnering with Sarah Silverman and Adam Carolla to produce online content via YouTube channels.

It’s great news that Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer’s web series Broad City is getting a pilot order from Comedy Central with Amy Poehler producing.
However, we guess it’s the entertainment industry universe “balancing itself out”, NBC has indefinitely pulled Community from it’s line-up with this statement:
Given the success we’ve had for the past four weeks — including winning the first week of the season in A18-49 — we’ve decided to continue to concentrate our promotional strength on our new NBC shows that are scheduled Monday through Wednesday and have therefore decided to hold Community and Whitney from their previously announced premieres of October 19th. Without having to launch these comedies on Friday at this time, we can keep our promotion focused on earlier in the week — plus we will have both comedies in our back pocket if we need to make any schedule changes on those nights. When we have a better idea of viewing patterns in the next few weeks, we will announce new season premieres of Whitney and Community.
Let’s just hope Tommy Johnagin’s pilot goes to series at the peacock.
Mike Birbiglia and Ira Glass are taking their indie comedy hit film Sleepwalk With Me and taking it into the home, not invasively, but on Video On Demand. To celebrate its release online, they’re throwing a “videochat pizza party”, which you may or may not want to charge cover for.
It would behoove some hip bars in LA, NYC, and elsewhere to screen Sleepwalk With Me and have pizza and a video chat this Fri.

There are two crowdfunding campaigns regarding comedy that we’re completely behind. The Thrilling Adventure Hour, a monthly live “old timey radio” show at Largo at the Coronet Theatre that’s always sold out featuring the likes of Paul F. Tompkins, James Urbaniak, and more as well as recently inducted Nerdist podcast. They’re looking to expand into a graphic novel, concert film, and more with donations.
Also, there’s The Little Modern Theater, a independently run space for live comedy in LA that puts on shows free of charge to performers and audience members allowing for comedy to hopefully flourish as it should. With donations, they hope to keep their operation going.
This is a pilot episode for a series called ‘Drunk and Disorderly’ starring Laura Kightlinger and Mary Lynn Rajskub as two live and let’s keep being some of the non-productive cops at Oakland PD. It’s darkly hilarious along with a fresh angle of the buddy cop comedy, created and written by Laura Kightlinger and David Punch, and a cameo by Patton Oswalt, so naturally, we’re excited to see more very soon.

Eagleheart Gets a 3rd Season From Adult Swim
Hopefully, Eagleheart will be dark horse for an Emmy next time around as its brothers at Adult Swim already have one.
One of our favorite exports in LA comedy undoubtedly has been Set List: The Improvised Stand Up Show, though some people we talk to still don’t quite grasp the concept. Luckily, there’s this really great interview with creator Troy Conrad and producer Paul Provenza while on their way to the Galway Comedy Festival in Ireland that explains it all and gives some great clips of stand-up being made up on the spot by Rich Hall, Jimmy Carr, and more.
You’ll get what it’s about and how it’s done, but you’ll still be flabbergasted how anyone pulls off improvised stand-up
Adult Swim Will Present Adam Scott & Jon Hamm’s Greatest Event in Television History Tonight
At midnight tonight, we’ll finally find what those mysterious set pics have been all about, not to mention what exactly is The Greatest Event in Television History is.
At the very least, there’ll be NTSF:SD:SUV right after.
They’re two atypical comedies to be sure, but ones that we’re glad are coming tomorrow. 7 Psychopaths, written and directed by the one and only dark comedy master Martin McDonagh, opens nationwide and Smashed, co-written by very funny comedian Susan Burke and James Ponsoldt/directed by Ponsoldt, opens at The Landmark Theater in West LA and the newly opened Sundance Cinemas on Sunset Blvd. starting this Friday.

5th Annual Women In Comedy Festival Now Taking Submissions For Next Year
Stand-up, sketch, improv, musical comedy, and more are being considered for this year’s Women in Comedy Festival out of Boston and Cambridge, MA. Deadline is Dec. 7th and submissions are only accepted online.
Also, keep in mind: Women in Comedy Festival submissions are open to comedians of all races, creeds, religions, and genders.
Taking the lead in this dark workplace comedy, Parkey Posey is back in full force, a la her undeniable off the rails charisma as a bad girl in Superman Returns, though this time as a grocery chain executive in Price Check.
