CW Series to Stream on Netflix Eight Days After Season Finales
FYI to all Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane The Virgin fans out there.
Comedian/storyteller/writer/filmmaker Jay Larson is getting pretty good at doing these ‘slice of life’ short films.
We already enjoyed “Weekend Getaway” featuring himself, Rory Scovel, and Al Madrigal.
Now, Jay’s got another one with the same cast, “Even funerals can be a Happy time.”
The A&E series Intervention brings to mind the struggles of those with various drug and substance abuses and the harrowing journey that all of that entails.
The Clea DuVall movie of the same name does track an Intervention, but it has nothing to really do with the ‘usual suspects’ that force an intervention.
Instead, Ben Schwartz, Alia Shawkat, Clea DuVall, Melanie Lynskey, Natasha Lyonne, and Jason Ritter give Vincent Piazza and Cobie Smulders the sort of intervention that might become more commonplace after this movie hits theaters.
See for yourself in the trailer.
Look for Intervention, the dramedy feature film, in theaters on August 26th.
11PM on TBS.
It’s actually, and thankfully, an annual tradition at Team Coco to ‘scrap’ together outtakes, rehearsal footage, etc. into one episode of wondrous chaos.
This will be the third annual Scrapisode tonight and you shouldn’t miss it.

Here’s Last Week Tonight wishing all of us a happy 4th of July, though not without a nice FOMO-inspired list of things we could have had if we had stayed with Great Britain over 200 years ago.
Wire to wire, this should be an amazing show and we’re guessing you should get there early if you want tickets and good seats.

In a way, this is its own set of fireworks.
Brett Gelman and Jason Woliner unleashed their latest “Dinner” special that takes a unflinching and hysterical stab at discussing racism this week.
It’s now streaming at Adult Swim and we highly suggest you watch it as soon as you can.
It’s almost unbelievable to think that this all started from open mic comedians about to brawl at The Comedy Store, but Roast Battle coming to television is still very much happening as proven by this teaser.
Get ready for four nights of Roast Battle coming to Comedy Central this Summer on July 28th.
More details here.

For a series that really takes license with both science and history, what better way is there to bring the season to an end than having Dana Carvey play JFK and there be the threat of giant mutated spiders?
Don’t even bother thinking of an answer and just watch the season (and maybe series?) finale of Great Minds with Dan Harmon here.
Jefferies’ latest hour is here.
Netflix continues their procession of big time comedy specials with Jim Jefferies’ Free Dumb that started streaming yesterday.
In addition to binging Albert Brooks’ movies this weekend, you should also watch this. You’ll have time to get through all of it because the real 4th of July fireworks aren’t even until Monday.
Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 cash at the door.

If you’re really getting antsy for the upcoming rock mockumentary David Brent: Life on the Road, an offshoot of the British version of The Office, then you’ll probably really get a kick of how insufferable David Brent continues to be this music video for his original song “Lady Gypsy”.
Dungeons and Dragons certainly doesn’t carry the stigma that it once used to, but that doesn’t mean that making it into engaging television would be easy.
Still, Dan Harmon has, from the looks of this trailer, figured that out. First, it appeared in portions of Harmontown, and now it’s a live action-animated hybrid now known as Harmonquest.
Coming to Seeso on July 14th, Harmon and a gathering of his friends including Jeff Bryan Davis and Erin McGathy, favorite funny people including Thomas Middleditch, Paul F. Tompkins, Aubrey Plaza, Ron Funches, Steve Agee, and John Hodgman, Kumail Nanjiani, and Chelsea Peretti and Game Master Spencer Crittenden will show you how much of a rollicking, incredibly layered, and enjoyably complicated game D&D can be.
We’ve had the pleasure of enjoying Rhea Butcher come up over the last couple of years since she moved to LA.
Thus, it’s lovely to see her get her very first set on Conan that aired last night.
You can watch her performance here.
Trevor Noah and all of the correspondents, Hasan Minhaj, Roy Wood Jr., Jordan Klepper, and Desi Lydic had their sincere goodbye to Jessica Williams in her final episode of The Daily Show last night.
Watch it and try not tearing up like Jessica here.
The latest of Brett Gelman and Jason Woliner’s dark, satiric ‘Dinner’ series will finally arrive tonight. Called Dinner in America, Brett tries to tackle the issue of racism on his terms with a room full of accomplished black entertainers.
We got a chance to see it this week and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s timely, unhinged, and full of all of the boundary pushing comedy that you’ve come to expect from Gelman and Woliner.
Catch its premiere at midnight tonight on Adult Swim.
Albert Brooks shows you why you should spend time watching/rewatching his personal filmography, now on Netflix, here.
Tickets are $10-$30 with a two item minimum and you can (and should) get them here.

While there is often a worry in music about a band’s sophomore album, there is absolutely nothing to worry about with Jerry Rocha’s sophomore offering, Pickle Dick.
Rocha hammers out another fun hour relentless, unfiltered honesty that’s as vulnerable as it is loose and screwy. From being dumped at Comic-Con to dissecting the JFK assassination site, Jerry treads on dark territory, but has such a spirited stage presence the whole time that it’s a fun ride from start to finish.
Get Pickle Dick on iTunes here.
Eva Longoria heightens the awkwardness pretty well of the already awkward 7 Minutes in Heaven with Mike O’Brien.
In fact, she did so well that she received an honorary trophy hand made and made up by Mike O’Brien himself.
Not Safe with Nikki Glaser took time to go to a Trump rally to delve into the sexual proclivities of Trump supporters, and a bit of their politics as well.
We’re going to guess that their findings will not surprise you. However, they’re still pretty damn fun.
