Sing Street Getting Rereleased for 4th of July Weekend

(via Deadline)

Yeah, watch this over everything else that’s coming out this weekend even if you’ve seen it.

John Carney’s Sing Street is hands down one of our favorite films of the year. Having falling in love with in its solid, initial U.S. run, we firmly believe that it’s still criminally unseen.

Luckily, The Weinstein Company is giving Sing Street another shot by rereleasing it for this extended 4th of July weekend.

It may not be the most American movie to be playing in theaters, but it wil be definitely the best feel-good movie wherever it’s screening.

Jim Jefferies Had One Hell of a Hollywood Night Thanks to Al Pacino and Warren Beatty

Though Hollywood party stories are well trodden territory for late night, a great story is still a great story no matter how familiar the setting.

Such is the case with Jim Jefferies doing a private gig with celebrities present, then having a night he will never forget with Al Pacino as well as Warren Beatty in the background. It’s a classic Hollywood party story through and through.

He told the story in full on last night’s Kimmel.

“Night Train with Wyatt Cenac” Starts Streaming on Seeso Today and You Can Preview the First Episode on YouTube

One of the benefits of streaming services versus linear television is that there are no time limits or constraints.

Seeso seems to be taking advantage of this with their latest series Night Train with Wyatt Cenac that captures the majority of the actual live show, clocking in over an hour. On television, a live show like Night Train would probably be cut to a very trim 22 minutes.

You can see the difference and what you were missing all this time in not going to Night Train if you’re in Brooklyn/NYC as Night Train just started streaming on Seeso.

If you’re not sold on that, you can preview an entire episode, which times out to over 1 hour and 18 minutes, on YouTube right now.

Though All Things Comedy are still relatively new to releasing comedy albums, they have had good releases including ones from Nick Youssef, Sheng Wang, and, most recently, NYC’s Yannis Pappas.

Yannis’ recently released Let Me Be Yannis showcases his very honed comedy chops. Strong point-of-view, undeniable confidence, a range of voices and act outs, and ad libbing all come together nicely for Yannis. Also, his well structured material flows pretty well across a wide range of topics including gun control and destination weddings.

Get Let Me Be Yannis from iTunes now.

Jessica Williams Is Leaving The Daily Show Tomorrow to Work on Her Own Pilot

(via EW)

There ought to be one hell of a memorable montage of Ms. Williams’ fine work while at The Daily Show.

This Thursday’s episode of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will be her last as she will be on to writing, producing, and starring in her very own pilot at Comedy Central afterwards. As with so many stellar correspondents before her, it was only a matter of time before bigger opportunities (i.e. potentially her own show) were going to come along.

The pilot, as she describes, is “…about somebody in their 20s who has all these social ideas, but still does not have it together. [Pauses] And she’s, like, goofy and silly and funny!”

While still just a pilot, we have a hard time imagining Comedy Central not moving forward with it in order to keep as much talent from The Daily Show on their network as possible.

BoJack Horseman Season 3 Trailer Promises More of the Self Possessed, Conflicted BoJack That You’ve Come to Know and Love

Even though BoJack Horseman is an animated series, it has made its mark on the TV landscape by being a show that paints with all the colors, both figuratively and literally. BoJack not only goes to the darkest and most dramatic corners of comedy, but balances it so well with the super clever humor in the alternate universe where animals and humans are on equal footing.

From the looks of this trailer, Season 3 looks like it’s only going to double down again on that formula and we can’t wait for it.

Look for all episodes to start streaming on July 22nd.

When Jaws came out in 1975, it was a milestone in cinematic history. Unfortunately, it also spawned a bunch of imitators and set up the framework for Hollywood’s countless attempts to establish a tentpole movie franchise.

Honest Trailers points all of this out, both good and bad, in their breakdown of Jaws over 41 years after its release.

Unfortunately, as pointed out on last night’s Conan, the act that followed that speech had too tall of an order in trying to following Williams.

Because of this, AT&T has partnered with the show to sponsor a Facebook livestream of the minutes to leading up to the actual taping. This’ll include the audience warm-up and Samantha Bee fielding questions.

Bee already pulls no punches during her show, so you probably, like us, wonder what she does off camera. Find out over here.

Sounds fun, huh?

Here’s the trailer.
