One of our absolute favorite podcasts, The Dollop, has just set their official dates for their latest tour across North America, which includes one stop in Reykjavik, Iceland.

While hosts Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds have toured extensively through Australia, this will be the first time that Dave is going to a non-English speaking country really giving some international touring cred to The Dollop.

Also, a second NYC show has just been added FYI.

You can get tickets and the most up-to-date schedule of this tour right here. If you’re aiming to go, you’ll want to get the tickets quick by the way.

Seeso is wasting no time in getting the second season of live comedy showcase series Night Train with Wyatt Cenac going. The renewal announcement was made today along with the line-ups feature much of the best in NYC and around the country. The tapings are all set up all around Valentine’s Day.

What makes us most excited about this new batch of Night Train is plenty more opportunity for Wyatt to spit the fire that he did with his immediate-post-election album, One Angry Night in November (you can still get it for free here).

You can get tickets, from which the proceeds will go to charity, here.

This is another example that shows that Mike Birbiglia has one of the best independent business models in comedy that integrates live touring, books, comedy specials, movie adaptations, etc.

Over the last few years, Birbiglia has very successfully performed, adapted, and released My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend, Sleepwalk with Me and Don’t Think Twice in various platforms and media.

Birbiglia is now on to his latest comedy special, almost like clockwork, that will cap off the nationwide tour of “Thank God for Jokes. The special will start streaming on Netflix sometime next year.

For now, if you’re in Brooklyn/NYC, you can get tickets for the taping that’s happening on November 4th & 5th at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Harvey Theater.

Eric Andre Reviews/Trolls/Roasts Public Art in NYC

With the objective of reviewing giant free-standing sculptures throughout NYC, do you think Eric Andre is just going to break down the significance and historical context in which said art was brought to the city?

Nope. He’s going to ask a bunch of strangers questions that would probably never make it into an art magazine.

Watch it at the link above.

Thanks to festival director Coree Spencer, a new festival is coming to the ever-burgeoning comedy that’s just happening in Brooklyn (there’s already a few comedy festivals that regularly happen in Brooklyn alone) within the already giant NYC comedy scene.

Called the Cinder Block Comedy Festival due to a personal incident with a cinder block that Coree had, it’ll take over multiple venues throughout Williamsburg in Brooklyn from Wednesday, September 14th-Sunday, September 18th for its very first run.

As, Baron Vaughn, Laurie Kilmartin, Murderfist, Myq Kaplan, Ted Alexandro, Josh Gondelman, Mike Drucker, Kevin Avery, Frank Conniff, Mike Recine, Lynn Bixenspan, Sofiya Alexandra, Greg Edwards, Jess Lane, Baron Vaughn, Emmett Montgomery, Kevin Yee, and more (check out the full line-up here) are all slated to perform, we urge you to go to Cinder Block next month if you’re in, around, or close to NYC.

You can (and should) get your festival passes here.

Sometimes, being on ‘edibles’ in a tense situation is strongly advised against.

However, Monroe Martin found going on a date and discovering that he had mistakenly ingested a cake that was the special kind of ‘edible’ and managed to make the best of it.

He traced all his steps through his drug trip that happened on said date in his set at Live @ The Apt.

Of course, it’s called Stay Classy.

Commissioned art and curated cocktails with various Will Ferrell references are the order of the day for Stay Classy located now in NYC’s Lower East Side.

Believe it or not, this isn’t some grandiose stunt put on by Will Ferrell, but rather some of Ferrell’s biggest fans in Zach Neil and Brian Link to honor their comedy hero.

That’s dedication that’s matched only by Ferrell’s dedication to doing bits.

Our only question now is if they’re intending to open a San Diego location.

Though we had not thought of this question previously, it’s definitely worth asking now, “Wouldn’t three nights of live comedy and biscuits be lovely?”

Empire Biscuit in NYC, a dining establishment that pretty much deals in just biscuits, will try their hand at something way outside the biscuit wheelhouse by hosting three nights of a comedy festival.

Louie is back Thurs. night, which brings another added treat of C.K. doing great rounds at late night and a bunch of fascinating, unfiltered interviews.

On The Tonight Show, Louis C.K. went one unbelievable story right after the other of being the head writer on the short lived Dana Carvey Show and making sure Jimmy Fallon, who apparently is hearing the story for the first time live on TV, didn’t get on the show, then detailing how had to go on stage with poop in his pants at a black tie event, stand alongside Mayor Bill De Blasio.

C.K. also reminisced about the harder, struggle-ridden days of doing stand-up in New York City both on The Tonight Show and in an in-depth interview with The Hollywood Reporter and how appreciative of it he is now.

Also, we’re pretty sure you can see a picture from Louis’ story about standing next to De Blasio with poop in his pants in the THR interview.

NYC’s Village Voice has started a new web series following stand-up comedians around as they perform and then speak frankly about their craft. It’s very appropriately called This Is Stand Up and this episode follows Mark Normand as he goes up a bunch around town, offering his thoughts on how on the fringes stand-up comedians really are.

Also, Mark gets to be Mark’s goofy self, which is always fun to see. Watch it here.

We think you’ll probably want to hunt these down as soon as you see them here.

Follow Saenz Signs if you don’t have the luxury of living in New York, like most of us, but want to see if someone finds some missing letters, if The Beatles will get some help, and more.

(via NY Times)

In your daily news on whether we’ll get to The Interview in the near future or not, the Treehouse Theater in NYC has opted to put on a live reading of a shooting script. The roles will be read by various performers, some of which will be comedians, though Seth Rogen and James Franco are currently not set to read their own roles.

The live reading, which is a good follow up to Cinefamily’s secret protest screening of The Red Chapel this past weekend, will take place this Sat. at 7PM at the Treehouse Theater.

Gauging from how well live reads have gone here in LA, this should be great as well as supporting freedom of speech and expression.

It’s rare to hear of comedians reach stand-up specials in the double digits, but Keith Malley of Keith and the Girl has just hit his 11th special with God Made Me: The Very Worst of Keith Malley.

At this point, Malley likes to take a little bit of a leap in concept for his specials, so the fun in this one is how dark Malley can go from all his material (i.e. “the very worst”).

It was recorded live at the legendary Comedy Cellar in NYC and you can and should watch it right now on Hulu, which means you don’t need to “borrow” someone’s password).
