If you loved Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher’s The Honeymoon Standup Special on Netflix, but didn’t get to catch them on the nationwide tour when coming up with and prepping for this special, you’re in luck.

Natasha and Moshe will be doing a night at Largo next week and, perhaps, see one of the things they do best together, roast other couples.

Ali Wong Will Voice Bertie Alongside Tiffany Haddish in the Upcoming Animated Netflix Series “Tuca & Bertie”

Ali Wong as a songbird and Tiffany Haddish as a toucan living together in their thirties in a series created by Lisa Hanawalt, the person responsible for how BoJack Horseman looks?

Well, we were already fully on board and, somehow, we’re even more on board for Tuca & Bertie.

There’s no set premiere date or even estimate of one, but we’ll mark our calendars as soon as that’s announced.

Arrested Development Season 5 Trailer Is a Pretty Great Way to Start Off This Week

The Bluth Family will be at their disastrous, but thoroughly entertaining hijinks yet again at the end of the month (Tuesday, May 29th) on Netflix.

From the looks of the new season’s trailer, season 5 of Arrested Development looks so very promising and definitely made us smile to start off a week (a first in a very long time).

Watch it, enjoy it, and repeat here until 5/29.

Please Enjoy Anti Rom Com Web Series “That’s How I Lost The Last One”

That’s How I Lost The Last One follows a flawed, sad man played exquisitely by Jake Weisman and has singular talent for losing girlfriends over and over and over again. It is every bit the antithesis to a romantic comedy, which is why we love it.

This Comedy Central digital series comes from the sinisterly comedic mind of Zane Rubin and will probably be a go to for us when Valentine’s Day rolls around again.

Watch and enjoy all three episodes here.

This week, Hulu picked up a sitcom based on the life of Ramy Youssef to series.

This coming Wednesday, you can still see him at The Hollywood Improv Comedy Lab headlining a show. Not sure how much longer you’ll get to see in such an intimate venue.

Tickets are $10 and you can (and really should) get them here.

Jim Gaffigan’s Latest Special “Noble Ape” Will Have Limited Theatrical Release and Be Released on All Digital Platforms and On Demand July 13th

Jim Gaffigan’s new hour that’ll go to territory that Jim hasn’t gone before, “the medical crisis that befell his wife and family this year, which almost led to his retirement,” will indeed be available in theaters, digitally, and on demand this July. You can actually pre-order on iTunes and Amazon now if you’d like.

Essentially, it’s an independent wide release, which very few comedians outside of Gaffigan, could and would do.

In any case, a new hour from Gaffigan is coming this Summer and that’s, of course, a lovely thing.

Here’s a trailer for Jim Gaffigan: Noble Ape.

H. Jon Benjamin’s “Failure Is An Option: An Attempted Memoir” Out Now

Though it may not come as a surprise to you that a man that released a jazz album where he played piano without knowing how to play piano wrote a memoir about failure, H. Jon Benjamin’s love affair with failing is something to behold.

Failure Is An Option: An Attempted Memoir really delves into the nuances and various facets of failure, specifically in Benjamin’s life, in his wry fashion and is undoubtedly a cathartic read in these times we live in.

True to form, Benjamin didn’t even praise this book that he wrote when appearing to promote it on Colbert this week, which, ironically, is a pretty clever sell for a book about screwing up being OK.

You can now get Failure Is An Option from Penguin Random House here.

It’s almost needless to say that this line-up for Let’s Save the Future is pretty massive and this event will undoubtedly sell out.

Also, Action Civics LA, the organization behind this event, sounds pretty great:

Action Civics LA is a non-profit dedicated to empowering inner-city youth to be informed and active citizens and community leaders. Modeled after Mikva Challenge (the successful civic engagement program developed for youth in Chicago), Action Civics LA provides opportunities for young people in Southern California to engage in political action, community problem-solving, and seeks to increase youth voice in local decision-making processes.

Oh Yeah, John Mulaney’s Kid Gorgeous at Radio City Music Hall Is Now Streaming and Is, As You’d Probably Expect, Pretty Swell

With Oh, Hello, co-hosting the Spirit Awards, Big Mouth, and more under his belt, John Mulaney’s stock is already pretty high and expectations of him can easily rise to be equally as high. Still, Mulaney, in turn, rises to the occasion once more.

Every one of his hour specials have been solid intricately collected and connected observations by Mulaney and Kid Gorgeous, his latest hour special follows suit. John performs on a bigger stage with a nicer backdrop and seemingly has a bit more polish and spring to his step this time around, but he’s still dealing out his whipsmart observations in his life (including as a celebrity, a human being, and, of course, being raised Catholic) like he’s been doing so well for years.

Kid Gorgeous at Radio City is now streaming at Netflix.

If that’s not enough Mulaney for you, here’s John breaking down a possible theory behind comedy’s fascination with Florida on Seth Meyers.

What We Do In The Shadows Gets Series Order at FX

Ten episodes based on one of the 2010s funniest comedies is coming to FX next Spring. Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement are at the helm and setting the TV series adaptation in NYC.

FX’s comedy line-up is already pretty damn strong, but this will somehow, probably, make it better.

Conan O’Brien to Shake Things Up By Planning to Do a Half-Hour Show and Launch Site Where You Can Watch All of Conan O’Brien’s Late Night Catalog

Conan O’Brien to Shake Things Up By Planning to Do a Half-Hour Show and Launch Site Where You Can Watch All of Conan O’Brien’s Late Night Catalog

In 2019, Conan O’Brien and his team are going to continue to innovate in late night (as they have often done) by paring the show down to a half hour, probably doing only one celebrity interview and having more bits in the show. Given how Internet driven late night is these days and how bits and sketches are some of the more viral things put out by Team Coco, it’s a smart move and we’ll be excited to see how it pans out in a few months.

Part of the move will allow for development of other projects by Conaco, Conan’s production banner, which is really nice to hear considering Eagleheart was a Conaco production.

On top of all of that, there will soon be one digital home for all the iterations of Conan’s late night career including Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, and, of course, Conan.

Overall, we’re really on board for these changes as they’ll probably result in Conan doing more remote segments, more sketches, and an easier way to binge Norm MacDonald’s appearances on Conan over the decades.

Adam Pally Let’s Chaos Reign Yet Again on Conan as “Snaredevil”(?)

May 2, 2018

In case you don’t know, Adam Pally is one of the 2010s best late night guests because he sets himself up for a hot, hot mess as opposed to a typical mildly entertaining story that most guests tell during panel interviews. We know that we posted about Most Likely to Murder just a few hours ago, but we couldn’t resist putting this up today too because it indeed so amazingly “off-the-rails”.

Without any further ado (or any sort of explanation), enjoy Pally’s latest performance here.

Hulu’s Latest Comedy Series Will Be a Mindy Kaling Version of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ and a Ramy Youssef Sitcom

In the ongoing battle for supremacy in the streaming service (and, by extension, episodic comedy) Hulu’s latest series have lots of potential.

Hulu is bringing another series from one of their stars Mindy Kaling as well as revive the rom com classic as Four Weddings and a Funeral as a TV show. Seems like a solid bet.

Comedian Ramy Youssef will get a sitcom based on his life as an Egyptian-American Muslim in New Jersey. With Jerrod Carmichael’s Carmichael Showteam banner attached, this undoubtedly will be a slightly new angle in the sitcom-based-on-life-of-a-comedian subgenre.

Can’t wait to see what’s to come with teasers and trailers.

Though you may have not known that you’d want some sort of cross between Rear Window and an episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (with a sprinkling of Young Adult on top), it’s what indie comedy Most Likely To Murder so deliciously serves up for you to enjoy.

It’s a unique murder mystery as it’s so laugh-out-loud funny throughout, but also so engrossing to follow and enjoy Adam Pally as a very, very amateur sleuth and getting his comeuppance at almost every turn. A great supporting cast in Rachel Bloom, Doug Mand (Most Likely to Murder’s co-writer), and Vincent Kartheiser play off of Pally’s disgraced former HS king come home so well from so many different angles. Also, props to co-writer/director Dan Gregor for oh so slightly toeing the line between having a plethora of physical comedy set pieces and just enough thriller elements to keep the audiences on its toes.

You can now get Most Likely to Murder digitally, on demand, or on DVD, which we highly recommend, here.

Mitch Hurwitz Announces Arrested Development Season 5 Coming Soon and “Arrested Development Season 4 Remix: Fateful Consequences” Coming This Friday

Arrested Development is a series destined to just make TV history at every turn.

From improbably coming back at Fox to coming back from the dead over at Netflix to very likely being the first series to intentionally recut an entire season for release (the closest thing we can think of to this experiment by Mitch Hurwitz is the ongoing fan debate of what order in to watch the Star Wars franchise).

In any case, there’s more Arrested Development coming to Netflix soon and, from the sounds of it, it’s back to “normal” (however you define normal in the Arrested Development universe) and we’re really happy to hear that.

Also, now that we think about it, could Arrested Development give Deadpool a run for its money in the most meta-self-referential franchise on screen? We think so.

E! Orders a Busy Philipps Talk Show and Stand Up 2 The Streets to Series

E! is really throwing their hat in the ring for comedy with their slate of new series that they just announced.

Busy Philipps will be getting her own late night talk show and the live comedy show “Stand Up 2 The Streets”, a dance battle between comedians, created by Justine Marino and Heidi Heaslet will be adapted into its own series.

Having seen both live in the last year and immensely enjoying it here in LA, you should be highly curious, like we are, to see what these shows will end up being.

Via a script generated by an AI that analyzed every previous Honest Trailer, the Honest Trailers folks at Screen Junkies made probably the most absurd, mind bending honest trailer for a movie full of tangential references that all don’t exist even though it’s an amalgamation of some of the most well known movies in cinema history.

It’s a really deep dive into the uncanny valley, but pretty fun once you realize that AI doesn’t really know what the hell it’s doing.
