‘Peep Show’ US Adaptation of Cult UK Comedy Series In Works At Starz

Maybe, this attempt at a Peep Show in America will stick? If it does, that means the show will technically continue its storied run after 12 years on UK’s Channel 4. It’ll be curious to see what sticks around from the dark comedy presented largely in first person for a U.S. version.

In either case, Starz’s comedy line-up is becoming something to keep an eye on.

Stephen Colbert is really getting to fly during these two weeks during the major political party conventions. Sending up the RNC was Colbert definitely thriving back in his wheelhouse last week.

With this week’s Democratic National Convention, Stephen and his staff at The Late Show really get to show off just how sharp they are at political satire/comedy they really are.

Case in point: the cartoon version of Hillary Clinton doing an interview with Stephen, a la the cartoon Donald Trump that Colbert also interviewed earlier this year.

It’s honestly one of the best send ups of Hillary we’ve seen in this election year thus far.

Tween Fest Series Trailer – watch more funny videos

Awhile ago, writers Nick Ciarelli and Brad Evans made a great themed sketch show called Death Valley Tween Fest that was basically a Coachella just for millennials that got out of hand.

With the go90 app needing content that will draw you to watch, Nick and Brad along with director Scott Gairdner got a chance to adapt that show into an actual series, Tween Fest, starring Drew Tarver, John Michael Higgins, Joey King, Arden Cho, and Lou Wilson with Jane Lynch, David Koechner, Tim Meadows, and Chris Parnell featuring.

From the looks of the trailer, it looks like the satirical poke at millennials and the baby boomers profiting off of them will be pretty good as well.

Look for Tween Fest to debut on go90 on August 3rd.

Samantha Bee Victorious As TBS Apologizes For Post Comparing Hillary Clinton To Hyena | Deadline

Apparently, Samantha Bee just proved she is just as effective as the host of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee as being part of Turner Broadcasting System’s Internal Affairs/Brand Management.

Over social media, TBS cracked a joke comparing Hillary Clinton to a hyena and Samantha Bee called them out immediately. An apology quickly followed and the whole incident is now over.

Even though Samantha Bee just premiered this year, this is a pretty good display of how much she means to TBS.

In the interest of balance, Stephen Colbert had rushed the stage at the Republican National Convention as his Hunger Games inspired character Julius Flickerman last week and thought it only fair that he did the same at the Democratic National Convention this week.

Turns out rushing the stage was much harder at the DNC.

See if Colbert got away with it here.

Almost a score ago, some foul mouthed kids from Colorado started a revolution. For the most part, that revolution was a bunch of people trying to imitate Cartman saying “Respect my authoritay!!” as well as deep dive down the satirical minds of Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

In 2016, they’re still keeping all of that alive in South Park and the promo for the newest season pays tribute to that.

Season 20 of South Park premieres Wednesday, September 14th on comedy Central.

Of the many disturbing things to notice during this election season, one small aspect to note is the disregard for getting permission to play a song at an event.

You might have heard of a number of bands raising this issue recently with Donald Trump who has played songs Queen and Neil Young without asking permission.

On last night’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Oliver pointed out not only how wrong it is to play songs at a political event without permission, but how so many politicians don’t even get the irony of what’s being played.

Also, he got a bunch of famous musicians from Usher to Sheryl Crow and way more to make a song about this very issue.
