David Cross Set to Go on Nationwide “Making America Great Again!” Tour in 2016

December 15, 2015

comedy festival, comedy tour, david cross, making america great again, riot la

One of the dates will be on the opening night of Riot LA.

It has been quite some time since we’ve seen the force that is David Cross on stage with a mic. In fact, his last tour was all the way back in 2009. Since then, he’s appeared on stage here and there between Arrested Development, Todd Margaret, Hits, With Bob & David, and a multitude of other projects he has been involved in over the last several years.

That being said, he’s going on a tour and doing his duty as a comedian by trolling Donald Trump while he’s at it. Called the Making America Great Again! (which is Donald’s campaign slogan in case you haven’t watched TV or been on the Internet at all in the last few months) tour, Cross will travel across the U.S. and perform from January of next year through April.

Specific dates and cities have yet to be announced, but the one show that you can buy tickets for is the very first night of the Riot LA Comedy Festival on Fri. Jan. 29th at 8PM where David will be playing the Theatre at the Ace Hotel.

Trevor Noah has not only put South Africa on the map comedy-wise, but him hosting at The Daily Show will have given African comedy a big spark.

For the next 3 years and potentially longer, Comedy Central will be hosting an international comedy festival, simply called The Comedy Central International Comedy Festival. Its inaugural run will take place very soon in Johannesburg, South Africa which will be the perfect place to stage a homecoming for the network’s newest franchise star, Trevor Noah.

With Comedy Central’s banner flying at the festival, the likes of Jeff Ross, Hannibal Buress, and more will be on the same stages as some of African comedy’s rising stars.

Thousands upon thousands are expected to be in attendance and if that does indeed happen, this festival will be in the league with JFL Montreal and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival i.e. the biggest comedy festivals in the world.

Dana Gould is known for his unflinching comedic brilliance whether it be on The Simpsons or his own stand-up and a speech on the state of comedy will undoubtedly be another showcase of that.

Following the likes of Patton Oswalt and Marc Maron in recent years, Dana Gould will be giving the big keynote address at The Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy & Arts Festival. Gould’s comedy expertly dissects anything and everything, especially when it comes to the darker and more taboo side of comedy and we can’t wait to see what he has to say about the comedy landscape as it is currently.

If you happen to be attending JFL Montreal, catch Dana giving his Keynote Address at the Grand Salon Opera in the Hyatt Regency Montreal on July 23rd at 1PM.

As comedy continues to develop as an art form in more places around the world, there are more comedy festivals that are following in suit.

This festival will tour throughout India in New Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai from Jun. 26th-28th.

Though it’s been two years since the inaugural edition of Chuckle Festival, we wouldn’t be surprised if it keeps getting bigger and happens more often like nearly every comedy festival around the world.
