Rick and Morty Had Its Own After Show “Ricking Morty” for Season 3 Premiere

First off, take note of a few things to take away from the headline on the Rick and Morty after-show, Ricking Morty.

Rick and Morty is the first animated series and the first comedy series (outside of some late night bits and some sketches from sketch comedy shows) to get a legitimate (i.e. put on by the network) “after show” a la Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Mr. Robot, Game of Thrones, etc.

Though not as serialized as all the other dramas we just name-checked, every episode of Rick and Morty has so much to unpack and analyze underneath the brightly colored, uber-clever, hilarious exterior, which makes room for plenty of discussion in an after show.

We can only hope that this is a recurring thing and not just a special one-off for the premiere only, especially since it’s billed as the Official Rick and Morty After-Show.

Also, you’ll note that the host is the very funny Sam Jay (and not Chris Hardwick or any other famous TV personality). We’re glad to see that whoever made the call gave Jay a shot that is well deserved.

Watch Ricking Morty here (after you watch the premiere of season 3 here).

AMC’s only comedy pilot currently in contention, We Hate Paul Revere, keeps getting more enticing. Not only is the premise of the folks hating American folk hero Paul Revere incredibly intriguing, but they already have  Ron Livingston cast as Paul Revere and Spoils of Babylon’s Matt Piedmont directing.

Now, 30 Rock’s Scott Adsit has now been added to the cast as Sam Adams. Fingers crossed that this gets picked up so we can, at the very least, all just see what this looks like.

The Heart, She Holler Renewed and Scott Adsit Joining the Cast

One of Adult Swim’s most delightfully bizarre shows, The Heart, She Holler from Vernon Chatman is coming back for a third season, which could mean that the cast could do more late night appearances where they show America the behind the weirdness such as how to make edible litter.

Also, Scott Adsit has just been announced as a series regular as a new sheriff in town. It’s quite a jump to go from 30 Rock to The Heart, She Holler, but we’re excited for this all the same.

Think Nebraska meets Little Miss Sunshine meets Lewis and Clark. Also, there’s some cameos from the great Scott Adsit and John C. McGinley.

See for yourself with the trailer here.
