Crackle Orders Comedy Web Series ‘Tightrope’ From Bryan Cranston
Get ready for Bryan Cranston coming back to comedy in a new web series at Crackle where there, apparently, will a modern day person input into a classic detective series.
Whatever this series called Tightrope ends up being, it sure sounds pretty great now and thus you should watch out for it.
Just take a look at that flyer and the damn fine line-up of comedy and you’ll know that you’re going to Maui on Halloween weekend Oct. 30th-Nov. 2nd instead of figuring an ultra-clever costume to impress people for two hours.

It’s been a true privilege getting to see one of the best up and coming comedians (he’s one of the few to receive our Tip of the Hat) in Jerrod Carmichael rise virtually from the ground up here in LA. The fact that he’s getting an HBO stand-up special presented by Funny or Die directed by Spike Lee makes this even more amazing.
The tapings will happen at The Comedy Store, which hasn’t had a televised comedy special done within its walls in quite some time, perhaps since HBO’s Young Comedians over 30 years ago. If you want to go, there will be two shows, Wed. May 7th at 8PM and 10:30PM and free to attend with RSVP.

Adult Swim Renews “Children’s Hospital” For Sixth Season
Considering how damn funny Children’s Hospital is and the fact that it’s one of Adult Swim’s only shows to win an Emmy, we’re glad to see that they are very deservedly getting a sixth season.
Hopefully, they’ll hit syndication very soon.
The latest episode of The Walsh Brothers Great and Secret Comedy Show at CC:Studios features the duo giving out a great “factually accurate” and overall hilarious walking tour of Los Angeles.
After watching and enjoying this, feel free to Yelp their walking tour even though most of us won’t get to go on one of them.
SyFy Orders First Digital Comedy Series ‘Underlings’
It’s a big week for comedy digital/web series as SyFy is now joining in on the action. Underlings will be the first comedy web series for SyFy following the workplace happenings of a criminal organization.
A teaser trailer is up at the link and you’ll see for yourself, even evil masterminds need someone to make copies and get coffee.
This week, the great Matt Walsh stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers and revealed that, perhaps unsurprisingly, that the political world is not far off from the one portrayed in Veep. Also, Walsh and Meyers have a fun run of riffing off each other.
It has been stated that CBS will not make any decision until after they upfront presentation on how will take Craig Ferguson’s place at The Late Late Show when he leaves at the end of the year.
However, Michael Ian Black, Jason Jones, Neil Patrick Harris, Aisha Tyler, John Hodgman, Joel McHale, and Amy Schumer are all in rumored to be in consideration for the job.
Given how quickly they got Colbert to replace Letterman, we’d guess that CBS will have someone chosen by the end of May.
The damn funny Matt Knudsen has just come out with a new comedy album American from Rooftop Comedy that you should really pick up. One of the tightest joke writers coupled with a wonderful sense of timing, we’ve always enjoyed the comedic stylings (hey that’s the name of his last album) of Knudsen.

All three of those names together, Louis C.K., Zach Galifianakis, and Jonathan Krisel, should make for one hell of a great pilot.
Let’s hope this gets picked up soon just so we can see what they came up with.

The Improv: 50 Years Behind The Brick Wall will feature stories from Jerry Seinfeld, Jimmy Fallon, Judd Apatow, and more about the Improv and how it influenced them.
Norm MacDonald Fans Push For #LateLateNormNorm
If you follow Norm MacDonald on Twitter (and you should), you might have noticed last night that there was a flurry of tweets and RTs of the hashtag #LateLateNormNorm (possibly started by Ben Hoffman) in a digital grassroots move to put Norm’s hat in the ring to replace Ferguson.
So far, we haven’t seen anything like that for any of the other names that have been rumored to be in the running for The Late Late Show. At this point, the gig really still could go to a wide range of folks, but it’s definitely fun to imagine Norm MacDonald hosting late night for all the times he was absolutely hysterical as a guest.
Also, that hashtag is pretty catchy.
If you’re not familiar with NYC based Phil Hanley, you should get familiar, especially after watching this “live reading” of a transcript from his ex-girlfriend breaking up with him on last night’s Pete Holmes Show.
Every time Martin Short has been on various late night talk shows over the years, he’s always got a killer zinger or a great story about some celebrity mishap and it makes us wonder why he isn’t on the dais on more roasts.
