Jenny Zigrino and Jen Saunderson Made a Cooking Show Actually Inspired by Jokes with “The Filling Is Mutual”

If you’re a fan of any cooking show where chefs all have to use a weird ingredient, you’ll dig IFC web series The Filling Is Mutual.

Hosts Jenny Zigrino and Jen Saunderson pick out a single joke from their comedian guests’ acts and then dream up a dish based on said joke. Sometimes, it’s delicious and sometimes, it really embodies the joke as much as a recipe can.

In any case, you should watch The Filling Is Mutual and maybe get hungry for ‘dicks in a komono’ or ‘white devil eggs’.

Watch IFC’s “Boy Band”, the Darkest Satirical Boy Band Reality Show Parody in Recent Memory

As the boy band formula continues to be successful throughout the decades, there has been parodies of boy bands right there following along. You might remember Conan’s Dudez-a-Plenti or MTV’s 2Ge+her as some of notable examples.

In 2016, Brett Davis of the subversive, meta, absurdist talk show, The Special Without Brett Davis, writes and stars in a new, similarly toned boy band parody in the IFC web series simply called Boy Band.

NYC comedy folks including Anna Drezen, Jo Firestone, Ana Fabrega, Julio Torres (who also co-wrote a good deal of the series), John Early, and more round out a great cast.

There are six episodes in total and you might not look at boy bands, or any reality show endeavor for that matter, the same way afterwards.

Or, if you have a pretty dark view on the music industry, maybe this would just redouble your feelings about the whole boy band model.

Either way, you should watch the whole series here.

IFC Launches Their Own Hub For Digital Content “Comedy Crib” with UCB and Above Average

Since IFC has really hit its stride over the last few years in their rebranding of their cable network towards comedy with Portlandia, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Maron, and more, they would be remiss if they didn’t have an outlet to regularly produce content online.

So, they fixed that with their new Comedy Crib, which will feature videos and series from the likes of UCB and Above Average.

One such series is Clickbait Overload where UCB challenges their very own to produce a clickbait video in 6 hours from a random topic and genre.

It’s pretty fun. Watch the first episode here and get into the rest of IFC’s Comedy Crib here.
