Jerrod Carmichael Now Has an Overall Deal at 20th Century Fox TV

When The Carmichael Show got yanked off the air, we knew that Jerrod Carmichael still had plenty of big things ahead of him. Apparently, 20th Century Fox TV agrees.

Now, Jerrod has the latitude to produce, write, and maybe star in TV projects through 20th Century Fox.

So maybe there will be a Jerrod Carmichael show that might be a little more like his last HBO special, 8?

Phew.

Plenty of shows got cancelled this past week, which left plenty nervous for any shows whose fate had yet to be decided. Though NBC had axed Mysteries of Laura, Telenovela, Crowded, and Undateable over the last few days, The Carmichael Show hadn’t received word on where they would end up.

Fortunately, they just got the renewal order for a 13 episode 3rd season just a few hours ago and we can rest a little more soundly that one of the few critically acclaimed multi cam sitcoms will be sticking around.

It’s official. Season 2 of The Carmichael Show.

NBC is keeping one of its freshman comedies around for a sophomore run and we’re glad to hear that it’s The Carmichael Show.

Congratulation to Jerrod Carmichael and the cast and crew of The Carmichael Show on surviving the first season gauntlet.

So, both Craig Robinson’s Mr. Robinson and Jerrod Carmichael’s The Carmichael Show could be the next big wave of comedy at NBC.

At the crossroads of Parks and Recreation ending, nixing Must See TV, selling Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to Netflix, and One Big Happy not getting off to a hot start, NBC is trying hard to figure their next move with comedies.

There are plenty of pilots on the development slate, but they’ve got two series that have been stuck in their pocket, in one way or another, for awhile now.

So, at 9PM on Aug. 5th, Mr. Robinson and The Carmichael Show will have their series premiere and then have the potential to be the next thing that the peacock was looking for in their comedy department.

We’ll have to wait more than a few months to see.
