By himself, Joey Greer, one of our favorite improvisers around, puts on one hell of a show by improvising bits for an hour with the aid/disruption of a DJ.

It’s as crazy of a “conversation” you can have (with music playing intermittently).

The next edition of In Conversation with Music will be on Wednesday, July 18th at 10PM at Dynasty Typewriter at the Hayworth Theater. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Please do get them in advance here.

Awhile ago, a fun, late night Sunday comedy show and hang used to be Babe Island @ Bigfoot Lodge, RIP.

As reviving things seems to be the order of these days, Sunday late night stand-up at Bigfoot Lodge in Los Feilz is indeed being revived, albeit on a monthly schedule rather than weekly.

Starting on Sunday, July 8th, Allen Strickland Williams and James Fritz will be the hosts of Night Coffee and present Henry Phillips, Solomon Georgio, Debra DiGiovanni, and Christine Medrano.

It’s FREE to attend by the way. Get more details here.

This show had a far too short run at the Improv. Thankfully, this improvised powerpoint show is coming back once more at Dynasty Typewriter at Hayworth Theater next week on Wed., June 27th at 8PM.

Zed Cutsinger and Andrew Michaan’s PowerPointless will also have a line-up including Natasha Leggero, Moshe Kasher, Nick Thune, Brent Weinbach, and David Dineen-Porter that’s more than up to the task of BS-ing their way through an actual PowerPoint presentation that they’ve never seen before.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Please get them here.

Even if you actively try to not read the news, you most likely know about the horrific separation of immigrant children from their immigrant parents at the U.S. Mexico border happening under the Trump Administration.

Largo has thrown together an unbelievably stacked line-up, as you can clearly see above, for this Friday to benefit the Florence Project (an organization that assists in offering free legal services to men, women, and unaccompanied children in immigration custody in Arizona.

Go get your tickets ($30 tickets were just released FYI) here. We have no doubt that it will sell out.

Well, UCB LA is assembling some of their absolute best sketch folks and mashing them together for SQUADRON. The team is pretty damn solid the whole way through with David Brown, Christine Bullen, Sheila Carrasco, Travis Coles, Inessa Frantowski, Frank Garcia-Hejl, Mike Lane, Haley Hepworth, Alana Johnston, Ego Nwodim, Marques Ray, and Greg Roman and Will Hines directing. We’ve dug much of their work on the several other teams and shows that they have all performed on over the years.

The first outing for SQUADRON will be Saturday Sketch Night at UCB on Saturday, June 23rd at 9PM at UCB Sunset. Tickets are $12 and we highly recommend that you get them sooner rather than later.

Because of the reliable sunshine and pristine Summer nights, LA affords plenty of movie going experiences outside of the typical multiplex-going routine.

Melrose Rooftop Theatre not only offers up to watch movies under the stars and on a roof, but offers some gourmet cuisine right before as well.
