A special edition of Drunk Ed. is going to talk about one of most pressing issues right now, toxic masculinity and its systemic abuse, with a great line-up of folks involved in and throughout comedy, entertainment, etc. (i.e. industries where sexual harassment is being purged most harshly right now). 

Not only will be an important and cathartic evening, but proceeds will go towards RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the U.S.

Every year, some of the best comedians in town get into the Halloween spirit a bit by dressing up and performing as some of the most renowned comedians for our favorite comedy Halloween tradition, Schtick or Treat.

Created 10 years ago by Mark Normand and Matt Ruby, this year’s Schtick or Treat will return to The Virgil will have at least 45 acts “including” Natasha Leggero, Louis CK, Dennis Leary, Pete Holmes, Maria Bamford, Ricky Gervais, Iliza Schlessinger, Norm MacDonald, Ron White, Wanda Sykes, Andrew Dice Clay, richard Pryor, Adam Carolla, Ali Wong, Jeff Dunham, to name a few.

(covered in costume and persona will actually be James Adomian, Amber Nelson, Henry Zebrowski, Chris Thayer, Josh Androsky, Lydia Popovich, Jenny Zigrino, Nick Vatterott, Megan Keoster, Zach Broussard, Troy Walker, Adam Newman, Ed Salazar, Babs Gray, Ed Larson, Grant Lyon and many more)

In its 10th year, dozens of comedians will dress up and perform as a plethora of comedy icons like Bobcat Goldthwait, Maria Bamford, Louis CK, Sarah Silverman, The Amazing Jonathan, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari, Ricky Gervais, Bill Burr, and more.

Tickets for the LA edition at The Virgil are $15 and can be purchased here.

Public School Stories is one of the best storytelling shows in LA and also has, as you can clearly see, some of the prettiest flyers we’ve seen.

The Super Serious Show, one of the classiest variety (stand-up, characters, short films, etc. etc.) shows in town, is back for their June edition with none other than the joy that is Josh Fadem hosting/headlining.

Also, from the UK, James Acaster will be a guest as well as Kids in the Hall’s Scott Thompson and Superior Donuts’ Jermaine Fowler.

The magic of one of the best live weekly comedy shows in the entire world, Hot Tub, was captured awhile back, but is now set to come out as a double LP as part of Record Store Day on November 25th thanks to Kill Rock Stars and Redeye Worldwide. 

On the album, Hot Tub with Kurt and Kristen: Live at the Virgil, will be performances from Eugene Mirman, Kyle Kinane, John Roberts, Aparna Nancherla, Emily Heller, Eddie Pepitone, Beth Stelling, Karen Kilgariff, Andrés du Bouchet, Heather Lawless, and, of course, Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal.
