Matt Donaher Returns to Conan and Puts on Another One-Liner Clinic
In the modern age of comedy, jokes in the form of one-liners have become an increasingly rare discipline and fewer and fewer comedians choose to focus in on such a skill.
Stand-ups like Matt Donaher not only keep the act of doing one-liners alive, but the execution is so good, it really shows off how precise the craftsmanship (structure, word economy, delivery, timing, etc.) of a joke can be.
Matt’s latest set on Conan is a great example of all of this.

Get Emily Maya Mills’ Debut Comedy Album “By a Thread”
Nearly all comedians talk about their parents in some form or fashion. Not all comedians’ parents happen to be hippies of the highest degree.
Emily Maya Mills’ folks were as hippie as you can possibly imagine, which has colored her comedy in a great way, especially since she has taken her life in a decidedly different direction from her parents. Her debut album By a Thread off of AST Records is a great, personal introduction to Emily and her life after a childhood of being made to be in touch with nature.
Just listen to how she demystifies Coachella in this preview.
Get By a Thread from AST Records or off iTunes.

Please Get Derek Sheen’s Brand New Album “Tiny Idiot”

The generations seem as divided as they’ve ever been these days, content with yelling at each other rather than trying to understand each other’s position. Thankfully, there are comedians like Derek Sheen who very deftly bridges the thinking between many generations with his new album Tiny Idiot.
Whether his joke centers on religious hypocrisy, being open minded about fellatio, or the new, snarky breed of butcher shops, Sheen paints a great, vibrant light that shines through all of the nonsense from any demographic that has been floating around lately. If you’re not acquainted with Sheen, you should start now with this album.
Tiny Idiot is available now off of Stand Up! Records here.
Do not miss the whip-smart Jena Friedman and the great show that she made a run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with, American C*nt.
It’s happening next week, Friday, May 13th at 8:30PM at Largo at the Coronet Theatre with Megan Neuringer opening. Tickets are $30 and you can (and should) get them here.

Myq Kaplan Makes a Great Case for Doing Drugs vs. Having Children in This Conan Appearance
The always impressive verbal gymnastics of Myq Kaplan got coupled with a fascinating angle on whether it’s a better life choice to do drugs such as anything marijuana related or to have children.
The combination made for a great stand-up set from Myq on Conan that you should watch ASAP.
Gary Gulman’s Latest Special “It’s About Time” Now Streaming on Netflix

His latest hour stand-up special “It’s About Time” just started streaming on Netflix this past Sunday and you should watch how wonderfully precise he is with his jokes.
See for yourself in this preview.

Get Brian Moote’s Debut Comedy Album “Artsy?” Out Now

Brian Moote’s debut comedy album Artsy? has been in, our opinion, a long time coming. Moote is one of those nomadic comedians that splits plenty of time between different cities that they call home and doing the road and has the comedic chops to warrant that much traveling. Thus, we’re thrilled that he finally has an hour of stand-up on record.
The album is filled with personal stories that Brian has carefully honed into structurally sound bits. He also has a charming stage presence that lasts for days on end and a good eye for highlighting those small details that make his material
Check it out for yourself by getting a copy of Artsy? from Rooftop Comedy.

UK’s Jack Whitehall Continues To Nicely Make His Way Through American Late Night on “Tonight Show”
In the UK, Jack Whitehall has amassed quite the following and, as such, is trying to make headway on this side of the pond.
He’s already got a late night appearance on Corden, and now, he has just performed his first stand-up set on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
From the sound of those applause breaks, Whitehall might be well on his way to growing a U.S. fanbase
