Trump has let the states decide whether they want to defund Planned Parenthood or not. So, now, so many people are stepping up to have the back of Planned Parenthood.

So, to support the cause, a special collector’s box set of vinyl records featuring the comedy of Sarah Silverman, Aparna Nancherla, Jenny Slate, Margaret Cho, Tig Notaro, Janeane Garofalo, Pete Holmes, and Zach Galifianakis in addition to music from some of the musicians around like St. Vincent, Sleater-Kinney, Björk, Matt Berninger, Elliott Smith, Sharon Van Etten, Mitski, Feist, and Chvrches will be released soon. All of the comedy comes from Largo’s archives by the way.

Also, we like that the folks behind this project made this note:

Do we know there’s a joke in the name? We do. We hope the title evokes the rich history of 7-inch vinyl records as a medium for protest music and resistance.

Pre-sale date has yet to be announced, but you can get more info here.

Josh Androsky Has Devised a Way to Troll Ted Cruz and Raise Funds for Planned Parenthood

September 8, 2015
Uncategorized

(via The Daily Dot)

LA comedian Josh Androsky has managed to make his trolling of a presidential candidate actually affect change.

Basically, Androsky is not a fan of Ted Cruz intending to defund Planned Parenthood amongst many other platforms the presidential hopeful is running on. Off of that, he wanted to see what it would take get blocked by Cruz on Twitter. In attempting to do so, Josh got dared to how far he would go with money being donated to the charity of his choice the longer Cruz didn’t block him.

As a result, various memes including ones with colorful language and images of Cruz as well as others with Pokemon and curse words have been tweeted by Androsky to Cruz and more and more money has been donated to Planned Parenthood.

In fact, “When asked how much money he hoped to raise for Planned Parenthood, Androsky said, ‘My goal is to raise $2,294,642, because that spells out ‘bazinga’ on a phone keypad.’

So, this is how an edgier Robin Hood in the digital age does things.

NBC Universal Admits Error Trying to Censor ‘Obvious Child’ Ad

NBC Universal got into a little hot water over a submitted ad for Gillian Robespierre’s great film Obvious Child starring Jenny Slate. Apparently, they initially didn’t want to run the ad as it mentioned the word “abortion”. NBC Universal has now admitted that it was an error and is now accepting the ad without that censor note.

Now that it’s all cleared up, you should go see Obvious Child.
