The extreme friendship comedy troupe identified as Power Violence (AKA Whitmer Thomas, Clay Tatum, and Budd Diaz) will be putting on their very last show as a group next Sunday at The Satellite (as well as celebrating their 8th anniversary).

While we’re all waiting for their silly comedy swan song to arrive, take time to reflect on Power Violence’s journey from moshing and TPing the stage over at The Complex to open every show to making some of the best, unabashedly fun videos around to becoming the power (pun intended?) comedy trio they are now.

The full line-up has yet to be announced, but we hear it’s pretty damn special.

Tickets is $8, but, as always, comedians get in free at this show. Get the tickets here.

The rest of our listings for comedy shows, events, screenings, open mics, maps, and more can be found at www.thecomedybureau.com.

Power Violence is going to celebrate 7 years of “extreme friendship” this Sunday.

Whether you’ve been party to that or you have no idea of how to even conceive of extreme friendship, it’s an occasion that you shouldn’t miss (a really nice line-up of Mitra Jouhari, Patti Harrison, Johnny Pemberton, Simon Gibson, Steve Hernandez, and more are also going to be there with Whit, Clay, Budd, and Jeramy)

Power Violence 7 Year Anniversary is this Sunday, February 18th 8:30PM at The Satellite LA. Tickets are $8 and you can (and should) get them here (BTW, comics get in FREE).

Joey Izzo is absolutely a filmmaker you should be keeping an eye on as his films have made the rounds on the film festival circuit already (including being featured at Cannes). This selection of short films will also be presented with performances from Kate Berlant and Power Violence, which should round out the evening nicely between experimentation and silliness.

Tickets are $10 and you can (and should) get them here.

Power Violence’s Whitmer Thomas Joins Comedy Central Pilot ‘Crazy House’

The Comedy Central pilot Crazy House by the amazing Nick Turner and Lee Rubenstein just gets better and better.

First off, it’s a comedy pilot from Turner and Rubenstein, which is already great and now, great indie comedy group Power Violence’s Whitmer Thomas will play opposite Turner.

Just to see what this would be, we want to see this picked up to series.
