Pick of the Day: A Very Big Wig Christmas with Caleb Hearon & Brian Robert Jones (in LA) 12/19

From opening a night with an audience member getting a flash tattoo to having fashion themes/assignments for all in attendance to both hosts Caleb Hearon and Brian Robert Jones being some of the most talented folks in all of LA, Big Wig has become, without a doubt, one of the best variety shows in all of the LA scene.

As both Caleb and Brian booked and blessed quite a lot, they haven’t gotten quite to keep up the pace of their show being monthly (or being necessarily in one place). So, you have to keep a watch for when and at what theater/warehouse they’ll be playing next.

Lucky for you, this holidays edition of Big Wig is happening Mon. Dec. 19th at 8PM at 2220 Arts & Archives (formerly The Bootleg Theater). They have yet to announce the line-up, but rest assured they will not let you down with LA comedy’s most hysterical performers from every corner of comedy and LA music’s most enthralling singer/songwriters/bands.

All that said, go get your tickets at $20 a pop right now right here.

Neil Hamburger, America’s favorite lounge act character that mostly roasts music, is going really big this month. There will be a bigger line-up than his usual residency has slated (that will probably get bigger than this flyer), but all of this will be done in service of Australian Wildfire Relief.

As you can see, this night of true variety will be dazzling, hysterical, and, of course, go to a great cause.

Go get your tickets here (they’ll probably sell out fast)!

Ron Lynch’s Tomorrow! is, in our opinion, a treasured comedy institution in LA comedy. For over 15 years, Lynch has been made Tomorrow! a destination every Saturday, late at night, for a wild, unpredictable, rambunctious, fun, hysterical comedy variety show.

For a very long time, the show happened at the turn of midnight, hence “Tomorrow!”. Now, the turning to the next day is still part of the show, but Ron Lynch’s Tomorrow! starts at 11PM these days at the Lyric Hyperion, still for only $5.

So, for those of you who aren’t quite as much of a night owl as we are, you can not have to stay out as late to catch the magic of Ron Lynch’s Tomorrow!

This week’s line-up is particularly special including wondrous sketch, musical, clowning, and stand-up comedy. Keep yourself in the loop about this week’s and every Ron Lynch’s Tomorrow! on Facebook and Instagram.

Yes, this is a charity benefit supporting the redo of a hotly contested election in North Carolina via Swing Left with the likes of Jane Lynch, Laurie Metcalf, and more for a stellar evening of comedy and music.

Also, the amazing Dana Gould will be hosting this whole Stand Up For America event as beloved Planet of the Apes’ character Dr. Zaius. That very well could be a show on its own that we’d also highly recommend you to go to, but you’re getting a jam packed night on top of that.

Tickets range from $50-$2700 (gets Host listing, VIP Benefits and a special recognition by Dr. Zaius for saving the planet). It might be steep, but it seems all worth the price of admission if you can afford it.

So, go get more details and tickets for Stand Up For America at The Satellite on Thurs. Aug. 8th here.

Truly, it only seems like a little while ago that a super cool variety show called The Super Serious Show started up in a super cool photo studio and provided a stellar variety showcase of stand-up, short film, characters, music, and more.

Yet, almost 9 years later, The Super Serious Show, now at the also super cool Virgil, continues to stand as that same stellar, very diverse, carefully handpicked comedy variety showcase we really love.

For their 9 year mark, they’re really bringing the goods as you can see in the 9 year anniversary line-up above. Don’t miss out on helping them celebrating 9 years and seeing a great, great comedy show.

You’re going to want to get your tickets ASAP ($7 in adv., $10 at door-cash only). Do so here.
