Kill Rock Stars continues their stellar catalog of comedy albums that includes Kurt Braunohler, Hari Kondabolu, Cameron Esposito, and starting today, Rhea Butcher.
Butcher’s first album, aptly titled Butcher, offers a great introduction to Rhea as the honest, yet very charming stand-up comedian. Specifically, Rhea gives a great glimpse into her cool life as a lesbian, vegetarian, a baseball enthusiast, and more, but she does so in a way where you’d never think of her just as a funny lesbian, vegetarian, or baseball comedian. You just think she’s a funny comedian that happens to identify with all those things.

Kurt Braunohler indeed is taping an hour long stand-up special for Comedy Central. Called Trust Me, he’ll be taping it in Portland, OR at Revolution Hall on Saturday, September 24th.
Given his skywriting, jet skiing, driving a giant butt cross country, and other such large scale acts of absurdity, we personally can’t wait to see what Kurt does with an hour of stand-up on national television.

The annual neighborhood-wide party known as Echo Park Rising will have plenty of music, but will also make sure to include plenty of comedy as well.
This weekend, Good Heroin will be running 3 nights at Stories Books & Cafe (1716 W. Sunset Blvd.), Party in the Back will kick off Saturday night at the New California Barbershop (2203 W. Sunset Blvd.), and Sauce (typically at Hollywood’s Desano’s Pizza) will serve up an Echo Park Rising edition of their show at the 826LA Time Travel Mart (1714 W. Sunset Blvd.) on Saturday as well at 8PM with Chris Fairbanks, Kate Willett, James Austin Johnson, David Gborie, Chris Estrada, Danielle Radford, and hosts Barbara Gray, Eric Dadourian, Erin Lampart, and Jeff Wattenhofer.

Ireland’s very own Dylan Moran is returning to the States to tour his latest show, Off The Hook. In LA, he’s doing a run of it over three nights, November 9th-11th (the 10th is already sold out) at Largo at The Coronet Theatre.

Open Mic Run Updated for Next Week
From 8/8/16 through 8/13/16, we got all the listings for open mics for stand-up, sketch, improv, and more all around LA.
Mark Normand is the sort of the comedian that was built to do stand-up on late night. Quick set ups, hard hitting punch lines, slick delivery, and a fun loving persona is why Mark has made his fair share of Conan appearances and is now making the rounds of stand-up on late night with his first set on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Finally, Jenny Slate, Gabe Liedman, and Max Silvestri will convene once again as Big Terrific next month at Largo at the Coronet Theatre.

Rhea is the co-host of Put Your Hands Together, the co-creator/star of upcoming Seeso series Take My Wife, and has been a great transplant for the LA comedy scene from Chicago.
Naturally, we’re excited about her first album coming out very soon as well as the above preview clip.
Specifically, Rhea Butcher’s debut comedy album Butcher will be coming on Friday, August 19th off of Kill Rock Stars, but you can pre-order it now and in on a sweet t-shirt and baseball cap.
