Follow That! pits comedians to the challenge of following a very emotional video being shown to the audience (i.e. troops coming home to the surprise of their family). Having any sort of very dramatic pause at a comedy show can prove very difficult, but the line-up with Chris Fairbanks, Nikki Glaser, Dan St. Germain, Nicole Byer, and Jon Huck for this show is pretty great. In any case, our curiosity is peaked as to see what might happen.

Tickets for Follow That! are $8 online and $10 at the door. You can (and should) tickets online here.

The Dollop is going to have another live recording at Nerdmelt on Monday, February 6th at 9PM. It’s one of our absolute favorite podcasts and going to the recordings live is even better.

Joining hosts Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds will be Bert Kreischer, which is a wonderful topping to this Dollop.

Tickets are $15 and you should get them sooner rather than later here. Also, all proceeds will be going to the ACLU.

Together, Chad Damiani, Juzo Yoshida, and Ithamar Enriquez bring a night of modern clowning, long form improv, absurdism, and a father-son comedy team from a Japanese fishing village. It’s a bit of undeniably fun chaos.

They’re at Second City Hollywood this Saturday, Jan. 28th and next Saturday, February 4th. Tickets are $12 and you can (and should) get them here.

It’s a collection of short films that fall under the umbrella of the surreal that is Hollywood starring Berlant and Early, two comedians that tangle with the surreal with abandon.

Kate Berlant and John Early Have a Surrealist Comedy Mini Series “555″ Coming to Vimeo and It Just Got a Trailer

555, andrew deyoung, hollywood, john early, kate berlant, mini series, short film

The duo of Kate Berlant and John Early with director Andrew DeYoung are a comedy power trio that needs to be on all of your radars.

Both Berlant and Early have already gotten to do works separately on Netflix’s Characters and DeYoung has directed both of them before in such fine work as Dinner Party.

Their latest collaboration will arrive in the form of a Vimeo on Demand mini-series of short films called 555.  (the series’ focus on “a stark, humid, surreality of Hollywood,” probably suggests the 555 to be a reference to the three digit prefix that signifies a fake telephone number primarily used in movies and television.)

Get a delicious taste of what’s in store for 555 in this trailer, then you can buy (or pre-order) all five episodes for $3.99 at Vimeo on Tuesday, January 31st.

We would very much like to watch a reunion panel of TV show starring Greg Proops, Jon Dore, Baron Vaughn, and Gareth Reynolds.

Josh Androsky and Bryan Cook’s Reunited offers up something possibly better with bringing that line-up together for a faux TV series that they starred in without any of them knowing ahead of time what that fake TV show was.
