The Chris Gethard Show To Continue Even Though Comedy Central Has Passed On It

Comedy Central has passed on picking up The Chris Gethard Show to series. This is unfortunate as we perhaps won’t get to see what TCGS did for a pilot, but Gethard says that other networks are interested and that “TCGS will end not when someone drops an axe on us, but when we want it to end. We will bring it to its conclusion on our own terms, the same way we’ve done every other step of this process.”

So despite the possibility of The Chris Gethard Show ending if it didn’t get picked up, we’re happy to hear that Gethard got his public access show made into a cable network pilot and especially that TCGS “…ain’t dead yet”

TBS Extends Conan O’Brien Through 2018

All the networks that have late night programming are anteing up with their respective late night shows as the end of the year will see a huge uprooting with Stephen Colbert leaving Comedy Central to replace David Letterman, Larry Wilmore replacing Colbert, and Ferguson leaving altogether.

TBS made the smart move and re-upped Conan O’Brien and his show Conan all the way through 2018.

CC:Studios Taking Submissions for Female Roommate of Female Comedian

Comedy Central’s CC:Studios is doing a new web series that will involve a female comedian rooming with another female and, assumedly, seeing what happens.

So, if you’re a female between the ages of 18-29 and are down for having a female comedian as a roommate for a week, maybe you should enter into this thing.

CBS Passes on How I Met Your Dad with Greta Gerwig

It seems like most networks are trying to make their version of How I Met Your Mother this season and, surprisingly, the direct spin-off, How I Met Your Dad with Greta Gerwig won’t be one version that will make it to series.

CBS has passed on the show and it is currently being shopped around. It’s possible, but it would be hard to imagine that this wouldn’t get picked up somewhere.

Next Thursday at Nerdmelt, Bob Odenkirk “…performs all the material he can print out or remember. Possible album recording? Fingers crossed!” A Special Thing Records will be putting the evening on and will make the comedy album if, indeed, there will be one.

The best way to find out (and probably ensure a Bob Odenkirk album happens) is to go next Thurs. at 7PM.

Tenacious D’s Festival Supreme Is Coming Back and Taking Over Exposition Park and The LA Sports Arena

The 2nd Festival Supreme is set for Sat. Oct. 25th and is moving to an even bigger venue than the Santa Monica Pier. They’re taking over the gigantic Exposition Park and LA Sports Arena near Downtown LA.

We don’t know exactly what they have planned, but we can only hope it’s as big and crazy as they can possibly imagine.

The line-up will be announced near the end of this month on May 27th.

Legit and Chozen Cancelled

Legit made it two seasons and Chozen only made it to one before getting cancelled by FX. Stuck on FXx, they undoubtedly suffered ratings wise, but, supposedly there are more original series on the way at FX and FXx.

Also note that, Louie, which is still a sitcom, albeit an experimental one, is on FX, which is supposed to be a dramatically bent channel and not FXx, which is intended for comedy only. Ruminate on that while you also ponder how much longer will FXx go through growing pains.

Support The Feral Audio Podcast Network By Buying a T-Shirt, Hoodie, Etc.

Awesome indie podcast network Feral Audio is looking to up their game in their 3rd year. So, they’re selling limited edition t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, and more to raise money to do so.

Do note that these are “limited edition” and, specifically, a limited amount will only be made. In fact, if they don’t get at least 200 orders, none of them will be made similar to a project getting funded on Kickstarter.

In summation, support great, independent podcasting by ordering a t-shirt.

In addition to that being an incredibly intriguing pairing, Galifianakis is now attached to star and Demetri Martin is writing Will. We can’t wait to see what comes of this.
