Remember the viral hit that pretty much everyone hated then loved because the girl is a teenager, Friday by Rebecca Black? Well, here’s a web series, Rebecca Black and Her Manager, that gives you an inside look what her life might be like from NY based Kelly Hudson and Langan Kinsley and probably based on real life interviews with Black like this one.

Anyway, this is a good example of how tragedy + time = comedy.

Safety Not Guaranteed Out on DVD/Blu-Ray

One of our favorite movies this year, Safety Not Guaranteed, was released on DVD and Blu-Ray yesterday. If you didn’t get a chance to see it in theaters, it’ll be worth the cost of whatever you’d be spending buying it on DVD or getting it on Netflix, etc. Time travel, Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplass, a romantic comedy, and more. make for something really unforgettable and very funny.

If you’re up for it, you can buy it here and now.

Apparently, Jimmy Kimmel has been literally dreaming of the moment he just had on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night for years. Tom Scharpling has carved quite niche for himself keeping the music video still relevant with how funny and great they are. This latest one is with Ben Gibbard going solo from his band Death Cab for Cutie and features Kurt Braunohler as some slimy marketing guy.

In short, Scharpling should definitely release a DVD collection of his music videos.

Jimmy Fallon Confronts Colin Quinn About Twitter Fights

On last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Colin Quinn was a guest and, as Fallon has fallen victim to being made fun of by @iamcolinquinn, Jimmy took it up on himself to ask Colin right then and there what all of this sarcastic tweeting is about. What results is pretty great, even if it’s not the answer we’re all looking for.

Also, one of our favorite NYC venues, The Creek and The Cave, got a big shout out, where Colin can be currently seen performing.

Good Call SNL for Having Louis C.K. Host

November 4, 2012
Uncategorized

We’re not going to delve into an in-depth analysis of the Louis C.K. hosted episode of Saturday Night Live because it doesn’t need one. CK was funny. The episode was funny even with C.K. doing the one sketch he admitted that he hated on Fallon. We’re just glad to see someone that has comedy as their primary occupation hosting SNL.

We just wanted to make sure that you see the Lincoln/Louie mash-up/parody that is comedic genius… and his monologue… and the final sketch with Kate McKinnon.

OK, just watch the whole thing here. Can’t wait to the ratings numbers this episode pulled.

Watch Tony Clifton Cover Chicago’s ‘Beginnings’

November 4, 2012
Uncategorized

This Chicago cover was played at the top of the show that we went to during Tony Clifton’s run at The Comedy Store earlier this year. Many who just turn off from Clifton for his vulgar/line-crossing humor, we feel, miss the wondrous experience of seeing the iconic grungy lounge singer next to one hell of a band and damn fine dancers. In short, it was one of the best shows we saw this year.

See what you missed (from the comfort of your computer or smartphone or tablet).
