You’ll get to spend a whole other season with them and their ridiculously wealthy ways that make Jay Gatsby look like a saint.

Any takers on whether he’ll make a Daily Show-esque joke about Hulk Hogan while hosting?

To get the word out, Tig not only has a giant billboard on the side of a tall building, she also made sure to stand near it, so she could point it to anyone walking, running, or driving by.

If you get a chance to point out your own billboard, it looks like you should absolutely do it.

Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie Are Deveoping a “Flight of the Conchords” Movie

The project is in infant stages, but the fact that it’s in stages at all is hope that we’ll all get to see the Flight of the Conchords once again.

Both Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, best known as the musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, are at work on developing a feature length project centered around the Flight of the Conchords.

As we said before, there isn’t anyone else involved at this point, but we think it would be a big opportunity missed by anyone who passed on this and didn’t make sure that it not only got greenlit and made, but fast tracked as well.

Contrary To What We’ve All Been Hearing, Jason Bateman Says There Is No Current Plan for More “Arrested Development”

August 17, 2015
Uncategorized

We’ve all made a huge mistake?

Despite hearing from Brian Grazer about a new batch of episodes of Arrested Development coming soon, it seems more unsure that such a thing is indeed happening.

Earlier this summer, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos expressed that he was hopeful to continue with new episodes of the series, but nothing was official or confirmed.

In his recent WTF appearance, Arrested Development star Jason Bateman echoed that sentiment by no knowledge of new episodes going into production.

He also elaborated that calling the latest episodes of Arrested Development “season 4″ as misleading as they were the first part of a three part arc.

Let’s hope we’ll be able to see the other two parts.

The First Weeks of Season 41 of SNL Will Have Tracy Morgan and Amy Schumer as Hosts

Good call on Saturday Night Live’s part by having one of comedy’s currently brightest stars and one SNL alum that has made a miraculous recovery after a near fatal accident to host the beginning of SNL’s 41st season.

Kicking off on October, Amy Schumer will host on Oct. 10th, then Tracy Morgan will host the week after on Oct. 17th. The season premiere will be hosted by Miley Cyrus, which should prove for three big weeks for the long running sketch variety show.

One of our all time favorite sketch groups is and will always be Dead Kevin.

Comprised of Ahmed Bharoocha, Ryan O’Flanagan, and Jack Robichaud as well as direction and cinematography by John Hale and Maureen Bharoocha have consistently put up weekly sketches of three guys hanging in an apartment that’s funnier that most other groups just hanging out in an apartment on actual TV.

Today, after three years as an amazing sketch group, they released their finale, which is so perfect in so many ways.

Watch it here, then watch all their episodes, including the Comedy Central ones over and over.

Also, you should note that while this is the end of the Dead Kevin series, they’ll be releasing one-off character sketches just in case you were worried that you’d never see them again.

Endlessly Outed Joke Thief, Josh Ostrovsky, The Fat Jew, Doesn’t Have a Pilot at Comedy Central-UPDATED

August 17, 2015
Uncategorized

(via Splitsider)

Hell hath no fury like an army of comedians on social media.

UPDATE: According to our sources, Josh Ostrovsky’s pilot had not gone forward at Comedy Central well before this weekend when the outlash over his plagiarism went viral.

In a tale of just comeuppance, online personality Josh Ostrovsky, better known as The Fat Jew, who has somehow gotten a gigantic 5.7 million following on Instagram by posting captions to various photos has suffered the wrath of the comedy community.

Many of those jokes posted by Ostrovsky are lifted, stolen, and plagiarized from other comedians. There’s plenty of proof unlike dozens of accusations of joke thievery that are really just parallel thought.

Last week, CAA signed him as a client and the wide scope of his growing empire was seen with plenty of promotional contracts as well as a pilot in development at Comedy Central.

Over the weekend, hundreds of comedians, both big and small, took to all outlets of social media to highlight how Ostrovsky has stolen jokes. Even though it happened awhile ago, it’s a good thing that Ostrovsky no longer has that Comedy Central pilot in development.

Hopefully, talent will be looked more into by various companies and agencies beyond how big their social media following is.

In Taking Down Televangelists on “Last Week Tonight”, John Oliver Starts His Own Religion, ‘Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption’

August 17, 2015
Uncategorized
hbo, john oliver, last week tonight, our lady of perpetual exemption, televangelists

As Stephen Colbert once showed how unregulated political action committees can be in raising money for their own agenda with the Colbert Super PAC, John Oliver is now showing how unregulated televangelists are with raising money with vague promises of spiritual fulfillment that ultimately end up serving their own agenda.

In his main segment on Last Week Tonight, Oliver ran down the abuses of such televangelists, similar to the sale of indulgences by corrupt church officials hundreds of years ago, that are given so many passes by the IRS for tax-free money often used to buy jets.

After that, Oliver announced the creation of his own church, Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption, which he has made sure, through plenty of legal counsel, is legally a religion.

You can actually donate to Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption by sending money in the mail to:

Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption
P.O. Box 1954
New York, New York 10113

In the televangelist spirit, you can call 1-800-844-7475 to hear a “nice” message where Oliver asks again for money.
