Bill Hader Talks Doing Bits All The Time and Does an Conan O’Brien Impression

August 21, 2015

Like many funny folks, Bill Hader can’t help doing bits all the time no matter where he is.

Just hear him talk about giving a birthday cake to one of his kids that was less what they wanted and more on brand for Bill as well as what pranks he pulls at the airport, then do a “spot-on” impression of Conan O’Brien.

Hulu Orders Pilot of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s “Future Man”

The Rogen/Goldberg comedy empire continues to grow.

This latest project, Future Man, from Seth and Evan focuses on a janitor who is also a world-ranked gamer tasked with saving humans from being wiped out according to visitors from the future.

So, a mix of Terminator and a better, more thought-out version of Pixels?

Hulu has ordered a pilot, but talent has yet to be attached, which we’ll hope is the normal cavalcade of comedy stars/friends that Rogen and Goldberg routinely get.

T.J. Miller, Mila Kunis, Bob Odenkirk, Susan Sarandon, Rob Riggle, Danny McBride, and Nick Swardson voice the characters for this stop motion animation romp through the underworld, Hell and Back, where two friends try to rescue their friend from the mistaken clutches of hell.

The writing and directing includes three Robot Chicken alums, Ross Shuman, Hugh Sterbakov, and Zeb Wells as well as Tom Gianas who has written on and directed anything from SNL, Mr. Show, Drunk History, Human Giant.

An R-rated stop motion animated comedy already peaked our interest, but this red band trailer should make Hell and Back all the more intriguing to you when it premieres Oct. 9th.

Conan’s Jordan Schlansky Wasn’t Going to Have a Bachelor Party, So Conan O’Brien Threw Him One Instead

Conan’s one and only Jordan Schlansky is getting hitched and was electing to not have a bachelor party to celebrate the occasion.

That did not jibe with his boss, Conan O’Brien.

So, Conan threw Jordan a bachelor party, or, tried to throw him one.

It’s more proof that you shouldn’t worry, if you are for some reason, about Colbert going from The Colbert Report to The Late Show.

Emily Lazar, Barry Julien, Opus Moreschi, Jay Katsir, Matt Lappin, Paul Dinello, Jim Hoskinson, and Tanya Bracco were all writers, producers, directors, etc. over at The Colbert Report and will resume similar duties at Stephen’s new gig at The Late Show at CBS.

The anticipation towards his premiere on Sept. 8th somehow is still growing even though it’s pretty damn high already.

Wanna See Jon Stewart Moderate the 2016 Presidential Debates? You Might Wanna Sign This Petition

August 21, 2015
Uncategorized

At the time of this post, it has 112,206 signatures.

So far, much of the race to be president, especially in regards to the GOP candidates, has resembled a one-man circus.

With such a circus going on, many feel there’s only one such person to wrangle it all in, however they can, and that person is Jon Stewart.

A petition at Change.org has been started for Stewart to moderate debates and, as shown above, they are getting closer and closer to a 150,000 signature goal. The petition should meet that number soon.

We don’t know if the petition will make Stewart the moderator, but, at the very least, his name is in the conversation.

Gay Rights Comedy “Pride” Playing in Russia

Apparently, it’s just got a really stern rating in the theaters where it’s playing.

While there are very many homophobic laws currently in place in Russia, the very funny Pride from last year is screening, apparently to favorable reception.

The film from last year tells the he story of gay activists in the U.K. joining forces with miners in the 80s and is a pitch perfect feel good period piece dramedy. Many pro-gay movies apparently get protested in Russia, but Pride hasn’t seen any protests yet.

We can only hope that is the start of trend in Russian cinemas.

For those of you hoping, praying, having your fingers crossed, etc. in the hopes that Maya Rudolph’s variety special would indeed turn into a full fledged series, it would seem that you could take a break.

Maya Rudolph hosted a variety special last year that was being thrown into consideration into being picked up for a series at NBC. After the premiere, progress for the series was kept quiet, but it turns out that it’s not only alive and well, but it might get the likes of Martin Short as a co-host who will be sharing top billing with Maya.

If this keeps going forward into a weekly series, we’re curious if it’ll take the months that SNL takes off or run concurrently with it. Either way, Rudolph and Short doing big, funny musical numbers should be fun and will probably be a big hit online.

As Hulu is making a regularly scheduled weekly release of episodes, you won’t have to worry about binge watching a new season of Hotwives… for now.

You can watch the first two episodes now on Hulu, which undoubtedly will come so wonderfully close to all the Housewives series that they’re parodying.

Also, let this be proof to parents everywhere that calling up a network or studio for a job does not work ever.
