Season 2 of Seeo’s Stand-Up Series “The Guest List” Is Now Streaming

There are plenty of our favorite stand-ups working right now that are spread throughout this whole thing. If you have Seeso (or Amazon Prime), go binge away on season 2 of The Guest List.

Aparna Nancherla, who you should both know as a fantastic stand-up comedian and one of Twitter’s best @aparnapkin, is returning once again to LA next month, but will get to do so with top billing at UCLA’s Hammer Museum.
Marlena Rodriguez, Erin Lennox, and Naomi Ekperigin will be joining Aparna and, best of all, it’s free since all programs at Hammer are free.

This Thursday, Adult Swim Will Stream a Marathon of All of “Rick and Morty” Leading Up to a Special Live, Sold Out Rick and Morty Event

Earlier today, a mysterious link was tweeted out about a live Rick and Morty event this Thursday somewhere in the LA area. Unsurprisingly, tickets to the live event were sold out.
Fret not for those unable to get tickets or not in the LA area. The live event (though its not clear what it is outside of it involving the “Rick and Morty team”) will be live streamed on adultswim.com/streams at 6PM PST on Thursday, June 29th.
Ahead of that, all two seasons of Rick and Morty will be streamed also at adultswim.com/streams starting at 3AM PST that same day.
Don’t think so? Watch it the announcement from Adult Swim’s YouTube channel.
Trailer for “Person to Person” Promises a Charming Ensemble NYC Comedy
Dustin Guy Defa took a short film called “Person to Person” and got to expand it into a full fledged feature with an impressive cast of Abbi Jacobson, Michael Cera, Tavi Gevinson, and Philip Baker Hall as well as original cast member, Bene Coopersmith.
The trailer echoes a sort of ensemble comedy from yesteryear while bringing some of the self-awareness and cleverness of contemporary indie comedies.
As to whether that’ll carry through the whole movie, we’ll all get to see the feature length version of Person to Person hits theaters and VOD on July 28th.
Conan Announces This Year’s Trip to Comic-Con and Unveils Latest Conan Funko Pop! Vinyl Figurines
Conan O’Brien going to Comic-Con every year is one of the best annual traditions going in late night.
Last week, he announced that they’ll be doing episodes from July 19th-23rd from the world famous Comic-Con in San Diego and unveiled a new batch of those adorable Conan themed Funko Pop! Vinyl figurines, which include a Conan version of: Spider-Man, Jedi, The Flash, and a White Walker.
If you’re at Comic-Con, getting to see this is probably, we’d say, as going to a panel at Hall H.
This is a fantastic line-up that’s gathered to raise money for The Center at Blessed Sacrament an organization dedicated to ending homelessness in Hollywood.
FYI, All the proceeds go to The Center.
Please get your tickets here.

Just so you know, banner ads, which we’ve had for years, make us almost no money. We’re doing this Patreon campaign so that won’t be an issue and we could have the full-time-job-amount-of-time we put into TCB pay like a full time job. So, if you can, please pledge $.
Oh, just in case you didn’t know, by “we”, “we” mean pretty much just one guy, Jake Kroeger.
Watch Trailer for “The Incredible Jessica James” Starring Jessica Williams
It’s nice to know that Jessica Williams will be returning to a screen near you as the star of the upcoming Netflix original film from Jim Strouse, The Incredible Jessica James.
See for yourself in the trailer that dropped this week, then look for the film to start streaming on Friday, July 28th.
Dan Harmon Personally Examines the Search for Meaning in Rick and Morty
There have been a handful, if not a bushel full, of philosophical breakdowns and dissections of Rick and Morty. While there are often dozens of jokes a minute, existential quandaries pervade the many universes of the show.
So, series co-creator Dan Harmon sat down and gave his own personal take on what Rick and Morty says about the search for the meaning of it all. Please enjoy it here.
Not only will this be a screening of the classic film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but there will be a light show, quote-along captions, a costume contest, and a very apropos helping of garlic bread. If you’ve ever been to one of those fan obsessed screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show or The Big Lebowski, you know what you might be in for.
You can (and really should) get tickets here.
So far, we’ve got 10% of our goal to make a full fledged app for The Comedy Bureau. If you’re one of the dozens upon dozens of folks that really do want to a TCB app, it’s not out of your reach to have it happen.

Will Ferrell Attempted to Sing The Carpenters’ “Superstar” Uninterrupted Because He Left Children’s Birthday Party Early
You know, we would totally be fine with a feature length movie of Will Ferrell doing weird bits on late night and at special events.
See Ferrell do his latest and greatest late night bit on Conan here.

David Lewandowski Releases “time for sushi”, the Follow Up to Joyfully Non-Sensical “going to the store”
In 2011, we saw this gem “going to the store” from David Lewandowski on Channel 101. Trying to explain it without weirding people for how abstract is, we just try to let people enjoy how silly it is sans context much like we did when we first saw it.
Now, Lewandowski has a follow-up that expands on “going to the store” and even ascends to something that’s a little sublime.
So, without further adieu, enjoy ‘time for sushi”.
Scot Nery’s Boobie Trap, one of LA’s premier circus/variety/comedy shows for years is moving on up, literally, to Hollywood. For quite some time they were at Club Fais Do Do and they’re now making their new home at King King (6655 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA).
Starting next week on June 28th, Boobie Trap will start its weekly run at King King every Wednesday. You can get tickets in advance for $17 and at the door for $25.
Also, as part of their move, they’ll be upping the ante with weekly videos from Scot learning (and possibly failing) new skills and tricks.

Watch Duncan Trussell’s Mega Trippy, Dark, NSFW Grieving Story for Party Legends
The story of Duncan Trussell and a dominatrix he hired while grieving for his mother AND the amazing animation from Cole Kush definitely ranks up there with the more insane stories on Lance Bangs’ Party Legends on Viceland.
Get ready to go one hell of a journey and watch it here.
“The Big Sick” Opens Today in NYC and LA
If you are in NYC or LA, please go see The Big Sick, the movie based on the true love story of Kumail Nanjiani and Emily Gordon.
It rolls out into a wider release next month, but you should go see it the movie if you can before then. Not only did Kumail and Emily write it and Michael Showalter direct it and it has this great trailer and this great clip, but it also isn’t the latest installment of an overblown franchise with robots.
Get tickets for a screening here.

Cracked.com Founder Jack O’Brien Headed to HowStuffWorks to Focus on Comedy Podcasts
Here’s yet another sign that podcasts are not only here to stay, but are only getting bigger, better, and more refined, especially when it comes to comedy.
Of all the types of places that we’ve seen comedy in LA, seeing it in a streetwear store is something we haven’t seen yet.
Next Monday, June 26th, that’ll change as Classic Era will be having Classic Comedy. There will be a killer line-up in addition to plenty of streetwear, tacos, sangria, and more.
Best of all, it’s free to attend. Get more details here.
