The Beat Kitchen has been a home to one of Chicago’s most venerable indie comedy shows, Chicago Underground Comedy for well over a decade. Hailed as a haven for alternative comedy in the Paris of the Midwest, many of Chicago’s best that have found their way to national and international fame like Kumail Nanjiani and Hannibal Buress were an integral part of Chicago Underground Comedy being put on the map.

Many of their delightful alums have specifically found their way to LA over the years and, as such, want to do a Chicago Underground LA Reunion. That’ll actually be happening on Wed. Jun. 1st at The Fable in Eagle Rock at 8PM PT.

You’ll be treated to long time LA comedy denizens via Chicago including:
Robert Buscemi
Mike Bridenstine
Ricky Carmona
Sean Flannery
Renee Gauthier
Alison Leber
Jared Logan
Brooke Van Poppelen
Tony Sam
Nick Vatterott

Don’t miss out, especially because the show is the nice price of FREE.

Entertaining Julia, the delightful monthly stand-up show from The Puterbaugh Sisters, is leaning into October and doing a special “Which Witch Is Which?” edition.

Basically, this very nice line-up:

Alison Stevenson
Mo Welch
Lydia Popovich
Candy Lawerence
Ryan Singer
Casey Ley
Alyssa Rusak
Lindsay Adams
Ricky Carmona

-will perform stand-up as if they are some sort of a witch this Sunday at Akbar in Silverlake. Sounds pretty damn fun (albeit a little spooky perhaps), no?

Of all the types of places that we’ve seen comedy in LA, seeing it in a streetwear store is something we haven’t seen yet.

Next Monday, June 26th, that’ll change as Classic Era will be having Classic Comedy. There will be a killer line-up in addition to plenty of streetwear, tacos, sangria, and more.

Best of all, it’s free to attend. Get more details here.

The very funny Demorge Brown, Ricky Carmona, and Becky Garcia together form the legal force of Boone, Boone, and Chavez.

If you need “blacktion” (black action) or the help of various Voodoo incantations for you legal troubles, then just watch this.

Even if you don’t need any of that, just watch and enjoy.
