Josh Fadem and Brent Weinbach, two comedians that are mastered in the art of being silly, will “lead” a “forum” on art. We’re not sure exactly how that’ll manifest, but we’re excited for whatever that will end up being.

Also, Ron Funches and Dan Mintz from Bob’s Burgers are just a few of their guests.

Tickets will be available at the door.

The rest of our listings for comedy shows, events, open mics, maps, and more can be found at www.thecomedybureau.com.

Jon Stewart and Hannah Storm to Co-Anchor ESPN SportsCenter Coverage of DOD Warrior Games

Comedy and TV legend Jon Stewart has always been in the corner of those who put their life on the line as military servicemen, firefighters, police officers, etc., especially those who have done so and suffered wounds of any kind.

So, co-anchoring The Warrior Games with ESPN mainstay Hannah Storm tomorrow is kind of up his alley.

“The 2017 Department of Defense Warrior Games, a multi-sport event for wounded, injured or ill service personnel and veterans, began June 30 and concludes July 8. Approximately 265 athletes representing teams from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), as well as the United Kingdom Armed Forces and the Australian Defence Force are participating.”

Look for Stewart and Storm to cover the event live on a special edition of SportsCenter, Friday, July 7th 4PM PST on ESPN.

Watch Trailer for DIY-Maze-Action-Adventure Comedy “Dave Made a Maze”

The sheer ingenuity and creativity that comes out of using cardboard in this movie might be a reason enough to see this movie.

Also, Bill Watterson and Steven Sears’ Dave Made a Maze seems like a pretty fun action adventure comedy that isn’t necessarily meant for kids or families with some of your indie comedy heavyweights Nick Thune, James Urbaniak, Stephanie Allynne, and Scott Krinsky.

See for yourself in the trailer.

Vice Principals Season 2 Teaser Seems to Have Danny McBride Seems to Go a Tab Bit Crazier

Keep in mind the second season is the final season of Vice Principals.

Knowing Danny McBride and Jody Hill work, we have no doubt they’ll being going for broke (even more than they already have) with this series knowing that they don’t have to bring anyone back next year.

So, as a nod to all of that, here’s a teaser of what’s to come on Sunday, September 17th on HBO.

Esteemed members of The Pack Theater pondered what it would be like if the beloved cartoon franchise Yogi Bear got the grim live action treatment.

They pondered so much that they came up with an actual screenplay called Jellystone and staged a live reading of their Yogi Bear movie that got so dark it became silly again.

They’re doing another live reading this Friday, July 7th at 9PM at The Pack Theater and you really ought to catch it before, perhaps, it actually gets made into a movie (or a faux trailer for a movie).

Admission is pay what you can and you can get more details here.

The Hollywood Reporter always does a great job with these big roundtable discussions and this go around is no different.

They did probably more than an hour of discussion that was only slightly cut down between Kathryn Hahn, Issa Rae, Pamela Adlon, Emmy Rossum, Minnie Driver, and America Ferrera, for the comedy actresses, and William H. Macy, Kumail Nanjiani, Anthony Anderson, Ted Danson, Kevin Bacon, and Brian Tyree Henry, for the comedy actors.

It’s fascinating conversation that spans the current deconstruction of inherent expectations within female roles all the way to Kevin Bacon’s feeling on Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Watch them here and here, respectively.

What Would Diplo Do? Trailer Shows James Van Der Beek as a Horribly Impulsive Diplo

Viceland’s newest scripted comedy takes a stab at satirizing the world of DJs in specific reference to DJ mogul Diplo.

The trailer shows James Van Der Beek as Diplo, which is an intriguing new direction for Van Der Beek, as well as a crew surrounding him that includes Bobby Lee.

While we’re feeling that there are bits of Entourage and Popstar, there seems to be a bit of self-awareness as well as sense of silly abandon that you’d get on the American version of The Office as well.

See for yourself here, then look for the series premiere on Thursday, August 3rd at Viceland.

In addition to the fireworks, hot dogs, and general stars, stripes, red, white and blue themes today, Netflix has a whole batch of half hour stand-up specials now streaming for you to enjoy under the series banner The Standups.

Nikki Glaser, Nate Bargatze, Beth Stelling, Deon Cole, Fortune Feimster, and Dan Soder all recorded a half hour stand-up special a few months ago in DTLA and they’re definitely worth your time.

Again, as there is no cutting away for a commercial break, there ought to be a much better arc and flow in these than what you’re probably used to seeing on TV over the years.

While The Big Sick’s nationwide release isn’t until July 14th, it’s still expanding onto more screens every week leading up to it.

It’s without doubt the best romantic comedy this year and might be one of the best we’ve seen in awhile. Every facet of The Big Sick including the story and writing by Kumail Nanjiani and Emily Gordon, the directing by Michael Showalter, and the casting of and performances by Kumail, Zoe Kazan, Ray Romano, Holly Hunter, Anupam Kher, Adeel Akhtar, Kurt Braunohler, fires on all cylinders.

It’s a modern love story and, yet, it feels so timeless the whole way through.

You can see above where The Big Sick is opening up next on this coming weekend and you can get tickets here.

“The Art of Rick and Morty” Book Coming Out Soon

Tweeted out a few days ago, “Coming soon from dark horse…”.

As you can see, it’ll be a behind the scenes book focusing on not only the art of the celebrated series, but the process of how Rick and Morty is exactly made and details behind their many wondrous characters.

There is no official release date yet, but, if it comes out before or during this year’s holiday season, we’re guessing it’ll be one of the more popular gifts that people will be buying up.

If you’re anti-Trump, you ought to know that one of the groups leading the charge is the Democratic Socialists of America.

The DSA is a volunteer activist organization that does a bunch of good shit around town like drive low-income women to abortion clinics, confront politicians who are cool with families being destroyed by deportation, or fight to get our City Council to stop investing money with banks that fund the Dakota Access Pipeline.

They’re throwing a comedy show fundraiser for their LA chapter and they’ve rustled up a damn fine line-up.

You can come watch the show at Nerdmelt in the back room of Meltdown Comics and they’re just asking for a $20 suggested donation. Get more details here.
