You might be familiar with Kurt Braunohler through his large scale comedy/performance art/pranks like hiring a skywriter to write “How Do I Land?” in the sky or him jet skiing down the Mississippi for charity or driving a giant double sided butt sculpture across the country.
Kurt is also a great stand-up comedian on top of all of that as you can see in this set from last night’s episode of Corden.
Tickets are $5 and you can (and should) get them here.

Given this moment in history, comedy will play a crucial, fascinating role in the weeks, months, and years to come in both speaking truth to power and also assuaging fear.
Much of stand-up comedy leans left and had plenty to say about Trump through this election cycle and will have plenty to say coming up.
In fact, Wyatt Cenac made his latest set at his show Night Train, which were his musings on Trump winning while they were still fresh and raw, into a whole album called One Angry Night in November.
On top of being the first comedy album about the election to come out, it’s 16 minutes and change long and free.
So, without further adieu, get One Angry Night in November here.
Of the many subtleties in comedy, timing is one of the most important ones. It’s hard to nail down and master as it’s fluid and intuitive and different, to varying degrees, every time you tell a joke.
The great Dana Gould, per usual, performed his latest set on Conan with flawless timing and sharply written jokes that have such beautiful, unexpected turns.

If you’ve heard a podcast or two, you’ve probably heard of Audible, the service where you can listen to audio versions of books.
Well, as that worked out for them, they’re now getting into the original programming game via the new Audible Channels subscription service.
They’ve got plenty of great stuff including The Comedy Show Show presented by Will Arnett featuring high concept comedy shows (i.e. Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction) around the country, Hold On with Eugene Mirman that’s an in-depth storytelling show, Sounds Like America featuring stand-up performed from around the country, straightforward stand-up comedy on Limelight, and Bedtime Stories for Cynics with Nick Offerman.
Featured guests on all of these shows include Jim Gaffigan, John Mulaney, Mike Birbiglia, Maria Bamford, Kurt Braunohler, Jackie Kashian, Roy Wood Jr., Rob Delaney, Michelle Buteau, TJ Miller, Todd Barry, Beth Stelling, Ron Funches, Gilbert Gottfried, and way more.
If you have either a subscription to Audible or Amazon Prime, you get all of this for free.
If you want to get into any or all of this (and it sounds like a good idea), get more details here.

One of the most revered weekly stand-up shows in the country, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, ended its 6 year run last month, which included three seasons as a TV series on Comedy Central.
Naturally, the 8:30PM slot at Nerdmelt where Meltdown took place was going to be filled in by something given Meltdown’s status as a flagship show at the theater.
In two weeks, you will all have a very exciting and worthy show filling in with Rabbit Hole with Jay Larson and Rory Scovel produced by Nerdmelt’s Caitlin Durante. Larson and Scovel are two of our favorites and this show will be in good hands as you can see with our thoughts on Jay’s recent album Human Math and Scovel’s latest Conan set.
In the inaugural show, Kate Berlant, Todd Glass, Bridey Elliott, Joe Mande, Baron Vaughn, and a surprise guest will be performing. It should go without saying that it’ll be a hell of a show and something that will get us all through the next few years and beyond.
Tickets are $10 and are available now here.
You can keep up with Rabbit Hole on @therabbitholela on Twitter, @therabbitholela on Instagram, and on Facebook.
Per usual, The Super Serious Show is going to be a really good time.
Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. You can (and should) get them here.

Going into Thanksgiving is going to be dicey this year. We’d say skip if you can.
Whether that’s possible or not, at least you’ll have a Michael Che stand-up special to look forward to.
Here’s the trailer for Michael Che Matters. It starts streaming on Netflix on November 25th.
Tickets are $15 and you can (and should) get them here.

Cameron Esposito was already, in our minds, one of the most important voices in comedy right now. Now, her voice is even more crucial than ever on top of being damn hilarious.
She’s playing the Irvine Improv on Thursday, November 17th at 8PM. Tickets are $20 with a 2 item minimum. You can get (and should) get them here.
Comedy Crawl All Updated for Next Week 11/13/16
It looks like live comedy shows will continue to exist next week and beyond.
We got them all listed for the greater LA area for you to enjoy/cope with/etc.

Rising from that Bill Hicks-ian, firebrand, deeply personal side of comedy, James Fritz has been a welcome thrill to have in LA’s gigantic comedy scene.
Fritz’s comedic voice and persona are refreshing, though more fire than just a breath of air. He personally juggles growing up in rural Kentucky with his more forward thinking ideology along with his own wonderfully bleak self-deprecation. That makes for a wildly colorful, strangely hopeful* style of comedy that you might want to hear right now at this moment in time (or probably for the next several years).
All of that is captured in his new, spectacular album, Still Together. Even as James takes the stage and begins, you can enjoy his playful rage right from the get go. You can get Still Together now off of AST Records here.
*the liner notes do mention how this was recorded at a time between the RNC and the DNC for this year’s election (i.e. objectively brighter days)
Just like millions of other people are doing and will be doing, comedy will be doing its part to keep as many vulnerable people safe as possible. This Hell Toupee: An ACLU Benefit, which should be a hell of a show too (in the colloquial-good-way), is just the start of that.

If you’re needing to continue needing to vent your frustrations and not feel like you’re crazy that what just happened with the election was crazy, the live stand-up special that Bill Maher just did on Facebook Live is now on YouTube.
Recorded just before the election at Largo, it’s called Whiny Little Bitch and is all about the newly elected 45th President of the United States. Maher is unapologetic (even more so than he is on Real Time) and showcases really what sort of Commander-in-Chief and VP we have to spend the next four years with.
Jay Larson is one of our favorites and he is taping a new hour long special at The El Rey Theatre.
Tickets for this are free and you absolutely should go to this.

Every album of from the brilliant Mitch Hedberg is now available on vinyl in one neatly packaged complete special collector’s set.
It seems like it’d be a pretty great thing to have right now and to have for the next four years.
Get the whole Mitch Hedberg Complete Vinyl Collection here for $94.99 on Amazon.
Tickets are still available for Dec. 1st. They’re $50 and you can (and should) get them here.

Kate Berlant, Nicole Byer, Alison Stevenson, Casey Ley, Kyle Mizono, Alexandra Tweten, Eileen Beard, Lenora Claire, Miranda King, and more will bring you another evening of comedy against unsolicited dick pics at The Virgil on Friday, November 18th.
This show is brought to you by Bye Felipe.
Tickets are $5 and you can (and should) get them here.

Pete Holmes is about to make a big return to TV starting off with his HBO stand-up special, Faces and Sounds. Crashing, a series from Holmes, is also set to follow not too long after on the premium cable network.
Get your first look at Pete’s upcoming special and his step back into the limelight here, then look for Faces and Sounds to premiere on Saturday, December 3rd at 10PM.
In this particular political atmosphere of the moment, non-political comedy can get lost in the shuffle of Trump and Hillary based humor.
With that in mind, you should watch the recent stand-up sets of Nate Bargatze on The Tonight Show and Liza Treyger on Late Night. They’re both tight sets and are politics free, which is something we’re looking forward to seeing more of after this Tuesday.
Comedy Crawl All Updated for Next Week 11/6/16
No matter who wins the election on Tuesday, you’ll probably need to laugh and there are more than plenty of shows to see, especially on Tuesday.
Having your own face on a billboard, especially on the legendary Sunset Strip in WeHo, is quite the milestone for any entertainer.
That’s why Mo Mandel wanted to make a promo for his brand new stand-up special Negative Reinforcement, which started streaming on Seeso this week, showing off his visage on the heart of The Sunset Strip.
However, you should know that the ad for Mo’s special is on a digital billboard that rotates through a cycle of plenty of other ads. He still gave a shot at making a promo anyway.
Oh, also, you should go watch Negative Reinforcement on Seeso since Mo is pretty damn funny as shown in these clips of said special.
