Set List To Premiere on Sky Atlantic in UK in December

Starting in December, Set List will now, with this latest news, officially have been a TV show in Australia, the UK, as well as web series on Nerdist’s YouTube Channel.

For some reason, us yanks are behind and it isn’t a TV show here… yet.

Jimmy Carr on Set List: The Improvised Stand Up Show

It’s always fascinating to see when comedians who base much of their act on diction and delivery as joke craftsmen go up on Set List: The Improvised Stand Up Show with no hours of stage time to hammer out their jokes per their process.

It’s especially fascinating when they can still pull off their comedic stylings in that settings just like Jimmy Carr did at the Soho Theatre with topics like adorable jihad. Watch the clip here.

The Lovely CIty of Galway, Ireland Is Going to Have a Great Comedy Festival

Not only is Galway, Ireland one of the more scenic places in the country, especially as it’s situated right on the western coastline making for gorgeous sunsets, it’s going to be the site of what has the ingredients for a great comedy festival this October.

Namely, Eddie Pepitone, Glenn Wool, Set List: Improvised Stand-Up as well as hilarious UK talents of Stewart Lee, Russell Howard, Omid Djalili are performing and if you just happen to be in Ireland, you should make it out to this.

Much of the time on Set List: The Improvised Stand Up Show, comedians are just rolling with whatever topic they’re thrown and often going to such heights of absurdity with none of their improvised material having much to do with them personally. Yet, there are still a handful of great comedians that can still bring their own experiences into the obtuse topics on Set List.

One such comedian is the wonderful Jackie Kashian, which you can watch how she ties in being from Wisconsin into her never before seen set list here from Set List at Nerdist’s YouTube Channel.

Self-labeled America’s Funnyman Neil Hamburger gives a go at Set List: The Improvised Stand Up Show by deconstructing the very fabric of it and still making it pretty damn funny.

This latest batch of episodes of Set List on Nerdist’s YouTube channel has the amazing Todd Glass and Dana Gould going up and doing improvised stand-up in such a way that you get drawn into thinking that it’s almost not made up on the spot (even if Todd Glass is questioning the whole mechanism of Set List).

In Case You Missed It, Here’s Set List at YouTube Comedy Week

Set List, the improvised stand-up show, was one of the closing shows at YouTube’s Comedy Week and caught Jon Dore, Dan Van Kirk as Mark Wahlberg, Moshe Kasher, Matt Kirshen, and Kira Soltanovich making it up and making it funny as they go along.

If you weren’t lucky enough or didn’t have the time to catch when it first streamed online, here’s a playlist for you to watch it all (i.e. don’t miss it this time around).

Nerdist Channel’s latest show, Set List, the international phenomenon of an improvised stand-up show, uploaded the latest episodes featuring the talents of Mark Wahlberg (played by the immensely talented Dan Van Kirk) and the hilarious Rory Scovel with a slightly German accent. Both are great and completely made up on the spot and you should watch them right now.

Also, if you love this like we do, there’s a live stream of Set List for YouTube’s Comedy Week tonight at 6PM PST.

It’s sort of odd to us that Set List: The Improvised Stand Up Show was born in LA and then toured the world to become a TV show in the UK and Australia and is only now distributed to the US, but we’re glad that it finally happened thanks to the Nerdist YouTube Channel.

Watch the first three episodes with TJ MIller, Glenn Wool, and Bob Odenkirk.

One of the best live comedy experiences around, Set List, has traveled the world doing every comedy festival imaginable, been made into a TV show that airs in the UK and Australia, and now is finally coming back, state side, via the Nerdist’s YouTube Channel in the form of 20 live taped episodes with the likes of Bob Odenkirk, Jackie Kashian, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Byron Bowers, and more according to a press release of an agreement between Set List and Nerdist.

If you haven’t been to Set List yet, you can see it live this month, which means, if you’re in or can get to LA on Sat. Mar. 30th (7PM and 9PM shows), you can catch Drew Carey, Eddie Pepitone, Cameron Esposito, Moshe Kasher, Rory Scovel, The Sklar Brothers, TJ Miller, Fortune Feimster, Reggie Watts, and more fantastic comedians create stand-up right then and there in the most amazing way possible.

Not that any of you were doubting it, but this is great news all around and you should catch/watch all of this if and when you can.

Rick Overton opened almost every show at the Edinburgh Fringe, and gained a following for his mad Set List skills.  Rick will also be opening the shows at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank EVERY Sunday at 9pm starting Sept. 18.

Hear that? Set List is back in town after touring the world and Rick Overton’s opening every show at Flappers on Sundays. It’s improvised stand-up the way it should be done and none of you should miss it.

The amazing improvised stand-up show Set List is having another set of tapings at iO West for in the next two weeks.  From the minds of Troy Conrad and Paul Provenza, it’s the only show where you can someone like Greg Proops talk about something like SIDS, moon rape, and “Noah’s Dilemma” all in the same set.

It’s been even written about in Punchline Magazine.

1) A Letter to Neil Hamburger.  In this article, some people forget that it’s comedy and are personally offended, which, in very sparing occasions, I can understand, but what about holding five old fashioned glasses with various cocktails, over greased hair, and an ill fitting suit is serious?

2) Montreal Just for Laughs Callbacks start tomorrow.  Here’s the schedule thus far.

3) At the Comedy Central Stages this week: Set List w/Troy Conrad pilot taping on Tues. and Smartest Man in the World LIVE w/Greg Proops.  BOTH FREE at 8PM.  Call (323) 960-5519 for reservations. 6539 Santa Monica Ave., Los Angeles, CA

4) Live Tweeting the Grammys, you better believe that a multitude of jokes will be posted tonight and the Comedy Bureau will be there for all of it.  Follow @thecomedybureau for the funny tonight instead of just watch the Grammys sans commentary.

8) I had my first brush with fame yesterday and totally acted nonplussed about it like a famous person would.  The only thing missing in this equation: $$$$ (like… any of it).

1) If you’re reading the Comedy Bureau on a regular basis, odds are that you’ve probably watched the spotlight video of “Meltdown” on Last Call w/Caron Daly, but you should probably just watch it again because it’s important.

2) SET LIST-not yours and not really someone else’s either.  In fact, it’s a whole stand up show of random topics listed for comedians to do “on the spot”.  I’ve personally done one of these and it was a blast and now producer/host Troy Conrad is having a Comedy Central Pilot taping down at the Comedy Central Stages for free on Feb. 15th, which could be “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” for stand up comedy.

3) Open mics fall and rise and this Monday there will be a new one: JAKE’S, 38 W. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA.  Feb. 21st. Sign-up 7:30PM.  Thanks to Steve Hernandez for putting up another spot.

7) Recently: Kenneth Cole made quite the ripple on the Internet with an insensitive tweet promoting their clothes at the expense of cheapening the mass violence in Egypt.  Maybe they watched Eddie Pepitone’s Commercial Auditions and didn’t take the joke quite the right way….

8) Following people on Twitter has become a stressful decision.  I forgot, is the world over yet?
