A couple of months ago, Reggie Watts and JASH teamed up to do a VR event where Reggie would perform in a virtual reality space for as many people as possible.

If you’re wondering how they pulled it off, here’s a look behind the VR headset.

Sometime in the last millennia, most movies not only had a big soundtrack full of licensed songs (some of which weren’t even in the movie), but they also had an original song that had an accompanying music video, specifically tied into the movie.

Well, leave it to Reggie Watts to make that something worth watching again as he has just made such a music video for the virtual reality dramedy from Amazon Studios, Creative Control.

It should also be noted that Watts is probably the best person to make up a song about VR.

Watch it here.

Online network JASH is getting into the comedy festival game by throwing their own Jash Fesht on the weekend of Apr. 1st-3rd at Snapshot Studios in Palm Springs.

As you can see, the line-up is nicely stacked between comedy, music, and folks that blur the line of both disciplines.

Tickets are on sale now for $50-$100.

In keeping up with Netflix, Amazon is keeping both their original series and features slate running and this latest offering, Creative Control from Benjamin Dickinson and Micah Bloomberg, seems very intriguing.

The film follows how the implementation of VR and how it might get a little crazy and then some. Comedy fans might recognize Reggie Watts and Dan Gill who are in the ensemble cast.

Weird Al Yankovic Will Be Comedy Bang! Bang!’s New Bandleader

Well, Comedy Bang! Bang! continues to keep scoring with their bandleaders.

Following in the footsteps of Reggie Watts and Kid Cudi, Weird Al Yankovic will be joining the TV series version of Comedy Bang! Bang!, even though his footsteps in musical comedy precede both of them,

He’ll be alongside host Scott Aukerman in the show’s absurdist take on a late night talk show and is such a perfect fit for the show. Honestly, we can’t think of who would be a more fitting bandleader for Comedy Bang! Bang!

The Late Late Show Tries Getting Every Gift from “The 12 Days of Christmas” on Stage at the Same Time

For probably as long as any of us can remember, the traditional Christmas song “The 12 Days of Christmas” just plays everywhere every December even though the amount of gifts you’d have to give to actually pull off what the song’s lyrics suggest are utterly absurd.

To hit that point home, Reggie Watts, James Corden, and The Late Late Show pulled off this bit.

James Corden wanted to know if CBS Television City, where The Late Late Show tapes, is really haunted.

So, he tapped the guys from Ghost Adventures along with Reggie Watts equipped with an inflatable proton pack to find a presence somewhere in the belly of CBS.

We can definitely see this as an installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise.

See, if you dare, what they found here.

James Corden has been hosting The Late Late Show for almost three months now and has waited to have his first stand-up comedian perform on the show, presumably to make it more special.

Well, Nick Thune made doubly sure, as the show’s first comedian to perform stand-up, that it would be unforgettably special.

So, without further adieu, watch Thune’s “award winning” first set here.

On last night’s Late Late Show with James Corden, bandleader Reggie Watts switched hats to be a psychic for random audience members.

With a full band and singing his predictions, you’d probably not care that your psychic reading included a bunch of generalizations and guessing. Hopefully, your next psychic reading will be so musical and enthralling.

You didn’t read that wrong. Two people nuzzle something while blindfolded to see who can guess what it is first.

Not only were the things that Corden, Offerman, Kemper, and Middleditch were nuzzling fun and definitely not for the very easily squeamish, but Reggie Watts got to act as the very serious referee as well for Nuzzle Waaa?.

This definitely raises the stakes as far as late night talk show games go.

Thus far, Reggie is staying Reggie over at CBS.

In the middle of this fourth season of Comedy Bang! Bang! at IFC, Reggie Watts stepped down as bandleader and Scott Aukerman’s sidekick in order to take on his current gig as bandleader at The Late Late Show with James Corden. His final Comedy Bang! Bang! episodes are coming up and a farewell video or sorts was made to commemorate him in, of course, absurdist CBB style.

As you can see from what was supposed to be a remote segment about the NBA Playoffs on last night’s Late Late Show as well as his 4/20 song, Reggie is settling into his network gig just fine.

In fact, seeing how he and his band Karen have done over the last couple of weeks, they have the potential to be the greatest band in late night if they keep headed in the direction their headed.

The Late Late Show gave a nod to 4/20 yesterday by having Karen bandleader Reggie Watts dedicate a tune to all those toking around the world.

That’s mostly what he was singing about anyway. It’s 4/20, so it could be all over the place and still be on point, right?

Only a Few Shows In, James Corden Took “The Late Late Show” To a Stranger’s House

April 3, 2015
Uncategorized
beck, james corden, jeff goldblum, reggie watts, the late late show

We’ve been saying it and we’ll keep saying it: if James Corden is willing to take these fun risks and roll with whatever happens, then The Late Late Show is headed in the right direction.

Most late night talk shows so rarely leave the comfort of their studio for an entire episode that press releases are sent out months in advance when it happens.

As part of breaking new ground and breaking into the late night club, Corden is continuing to shake things up as he just taped an entire episode, monologue guests, bits, musical performance, and all at a strangers’ house.

So many genuine moments were had without the veil of soundstage and the sound of a studio audience and we’re pretty sure James made one of the residents’ day when they got to meet their hero Beck.

Hide and Go Seek got amped up because it’s a talk show, again, at a random house as well as guests Beck and Jeff Goldblum playing along.

A classic talk show staple of having animals and an animal trainer also gets taken to a whole new level as most of the animals make the inhabitants a little uneasy.

By the end of the night, there were no strangers and James most certainly got closer to meeting the people of America up close. If you want to watch the episode in its entirety, do so here.

We can only cross our fingers that Corden and company keep this sort of thing going on The Late Late Show.

The Late Late Show having Reggie Watts closing out the show with a song, made up or not, would be a more than welcome regular segment.

Last night, Reggie got to showcase a little more of how The Late Late Show could utilize him by doing a song that’s full of “Reggie-isms”, let’s say, like “You are a tattoo.”
