Coldplay Does a “Game of Thrones” For Red Nose Day

May 23, 2015
Uncategorized

If there was a Green Day musical, is it so crazy to think that a Game of Thrones musical would happen?

For the big charity event Red Nose Day, Coldplay, the cast of Game of Thrones, and Liam Neeson’s voice all came together for this bit of fun of making a parody musical of Game of Thrones.

Whether this musical ends up being a case of life imitating art or not has yet to be seen, but, for now, you can enjoy this faux-self aware version.

Keegan Michael Key Channels  “Whiplash” in New Music Video For Bhi Bhiman’s “Moving to Brussels”

Keegan Michael-Key takes J.K. Simmons’ acclaimed Fletcher in the movie Whiplash to a whole new level in this music video.

Black t-shirt, pants, and lots of yelling at Bhi Bhiman by Keegan for Bhiman’s new single “Moving to Brussels” makes for one of the best Whiplash parodies yet.

You can see in numerous TV shows, movies, etc. that singing your heart out or moving your mouth perfectly to lyrics in a song in your car works.

Cheap Smokes (Kaitlin Mamie and Laura Danowski) along with Nicole Aimée Schrieber show, in real life, that’s not the case.

Watch they’re important “message” here.

Scheer-RL Visits Casey Wilson and Eminem’s First Time on TRL and That Time P. Diddy Tried To Run a Marathon

Paul Scheer’s recreation of some of the craziest episodes of MTV’s Total Request Live continues on Scheer-RL with awkward conversations between host Carson Daly and guests who had, at the time, never been on TRL before like Celine Dion and Eminem paired with Mark Wahlberg. There was also a time where P. Diddy ran on a treadmill during an interview in preparation for running a marathon.

On top of that, Casey Wilson plays Celine Dion, Terry Crews and Katie Lowes play P. Diddy and Britney Spears, and Randall Park and Joe Lo Truglio play Eminem and Mark Wahlberg, which turns out to be as ridiculous and great as you think it would be.

“Maron” Shows What Trying To Pick an Agent Can Be Like

As you’ve probably gathered from even watching a clip of Entourage, dealing with entertainment agencies can be difficult. Even if you’re just picking one to have represent you in order to move your career forward, trying to figure which one is best is sometimes like trying to pick between apples and other apples of similar, but different shades.

This clip from Maron gives a pretty good estimation of that experience.

Scheer-RL Relives When TRL Did a Sit Down with Marilyn and When an Uninvited Mariah Carey Came with a Popsicle Cart

Paul Scheer’s Scheer-RL continues to roll out with recreating some of the crazier moments that have happened on any sort of show, much less a music video countdown show like Total Request Live.

These latest episodes recount the times when Marilyn Manson, played by here Brett Gelman, fielded weird questions from Carson Daly and audience members about his controversial music and when Mariah Carey, played by Kumail Nanjiani, just bizarrely showed up without any prior booking or invitation along with a popsicle cart right before they cut to commercial.

Though exaggerated, stuff like Mariah interrupting TRL really did happen and Scheer-RL does well in playing up what many of us were thinking when that was happening live.

Amy Schumer Deftly Satirized Late Night Talk Show Interviews of Women

As you saw with Tina Fey and the last fancy dress she’ll ever wear on Letterman, many women that make an appearance on a late night talk show go through a bunch of hoops, specifically in regards to their looks and what they’re wearing, in order to promote their movie, tv show, etc.

Inside Amy Schumer’s latest sketch summarizes the phenomenon with a little NSFW exaggeration pretty well.

Also, seeing Bill Hader as late night talk show host caricature is pretty great too.

This might do for crowdfunding what Colbert did for Super PACs.

The very funny Moshe Kasher has started a GoFundMe campaign with the simple goal of paying his rent for this June. To be clear, Moshe is not in dire straights and is actually keeping busy with his increasingly more successful active acting career, but he makes one hell of a “great” crowdfunding pitch.

Read it here and maybe consider supporting someone that is doing quite alright.

Paul Scheer Is Now Re-creating Episodes of TRL Called “Scheer-RL”

This first one is a doozy with Ryan Hansen and Thomas Middleditch playing members 98 Degrees.

Remember when Paul Scheer recreated some of the craziest moments on The Arsenio Hall Show from the 90s and called it “The ArScheerio Paul Show”?

Well, Paul’s giving hit music video countdown show Total Request Live the same treatment on JASH as Scheer-RL, though, this time he’s getting a little more creative with the recreations rather than exactly reenacting what happened.

This first episode features one of the more awkward appearances on TRL with the boy band 98 Degrees, exaggerated perfectly.

“Inside Amy Schumer” Does a Remake of “12 Angry Men” About Women in Entertainment in Place of Murder

The 90s remake of 12 Angry Men should have been exactly like this.

Amy Schumer and company continue to back up their Peabody win with this sketch that breaks down Hollywood’s ridiculous expectations of leading ladies in the framework of the classic film 12 Angry Men, which originally had a jury arguing over a murder case.

Jeff Goldblum, Paul Giamatti, Chris Gethard, Kumail Nanjiani, Dennis Quaid, Nick Di Paolo, Henry Zebrowski, and more make a fantastic cast as well.

Good call on the season 4 renewal, Comedy Central.

Season 3 of Inside Amy Schumer premiered last night and is in as great a form as it’s ever been.

It would be pretty great if stuff like this was on The Food Network, TLC, or The Cooking Channel.

Cooking For Vegans and Other Horrible People takes cooking for people that have special restrictions with their diets and puts a sharp, satiric edge on it at every angle. Host Rachel Staman also teaches actual recipes, which look kind of appetizing.

Per the description of the web series, “Join Rachel Staman as she cooks for Vegans and Other Horri – nice, horribly nice wonderful people who have no reason to come after us for any reason.”

In the three episodes thus far, Staman cooks for vegans, pregnant women, and ISIS, which, before you get heated about the idea of those three groups being lumped together, you should just watch it first.

If you’re missing the absurd side of cooking as it’s been awhile since a new Henry’s Kitchen has popped up, Cooking For Vegans and Other Horrible People should fix that right up.

Before you even ask, it is more annoying and cumbersome to everyone else. You can see for yourself right here.

Even if you’re a longtime listener to WTF, you might not even be aware that Marc and a guest are “ignoring” a co-host, Nate Fernald, the whole time.

Fernald was gracious enough to dig up an unedited episode featuring guest Chris D’Elia and none of Nate being cut out. Listen here.

Also, the phone calls, according to the description, are real.

Mark made a spot-on late night stand-up debut on Conan last night sailing smoothly delightfully through jokes into a rap song he’s “famous” for.

Watch his set here and hope he ends up spending more time in the U.S. than in Canada soon.

Yeah, Cocktail is much better and makes more sense like this.

Mr. Show writer Mike Upchurch has been deftly parodying various movies and TV shows by putting actors and dialogue that aren’t in either, but somehow make sense and make the overall finished product better.

He’s done Dragnet.

Now, as a proof-of-concept for what he’s calling Electric Television, he has a parody of the movie Cocktail with the great Chris Fairbanks in it a la all those newsreel clips that Forrest Gump was somehow in.

Enjoy.

That’s what SNL was thinking lat night when they made a trailer for something that’s a Fast and Furious 7 meets a live action Bambi with The Rock wearing deer ears and a fur vest and Taran Killam in a muscle suit and bunny ears.

Yes, they have plenty of pun “kill lines” too.

As far as board games go, The Settlers of Brooklyn is decidedly less of an escape from your everyday life and more of foretelling of how an up and coming neighborhood comes about.

What better way to explain gentrification than through a complex board game meant for adults with way too many rules and conditions? That’s why Above Average parodied the popular Settlers of Catan and made The Settlers of Brooklyn.

Maybe they’ll make a “Dungeons and Your Credit Score” next?
