Here’s the trailer for Michael Che Matters. It starts streaming on Netflix on November 25th.

So much crazy stuff has happened this election just in the past month that it seems crazy that the rest of it even happened.

You probably even forgot that Jason Selvig and Davram Stiefler starred in a faux documentary where they went along the election campaign trail as two “undecideds” and attempted to see what each campaign was about as well as prank the likes of Jeb Bush, Trump, Clinton, Rubio, Ben Carson, etc. Aasif Mandvi and Jena Friedman from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart are pushing them along the whole way in this crazy journey captured in Undecided: The Movie.

Along with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog’s election coverage, you might feel slightly less on edge leading up to November 8th with this doc. It’s available to stream now on Netflix.

Chris Rock Will Do Two Comedy Specials at Netflix for $40 Million

How often will Netflix be outspending HBO?

When it comes to Chris Rock comedy specials, it almost went without saying that HBO was the place that it would be.

That all changed today with Rock reportedly getting a $40 million deal for two comedy specials.

The times have indeed changed and Netflix not only is gaining in on HBO prestige with their increasing number of critically acclaimed and award winning series and specials, but it seems like they’ve got the money to keep this pace up.

This deal puts Rock on the Forbes list for top earning comedians for the next two years by the way.

Above all, we’re happy to hear that the latest stand-up from Chris Rock will be two new hours rather than just a host monologue or a couple of minutes as an awards show presenter.

Over the last few years, Birbiglia has very successfully performed, adapted, and released My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend, Sleepwalk with Me and Don’t Think Twice in various platforms and media.

Birbiglia is now on to his latest comedy special, almost like clockwork, that will cap off the nationwide tour of “Thank God for Jokes. The special will start streaming on Netflix sometime next year.

For now, if you’re in Brooklyn/NYC, you can get tickets for the taping that’s happening on November 4th & 5th at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Harvey Theater.

Mike Drucker To Be Head Comedy Writer on New Bill Nye Show on Netflix

Well, Bill Nye will be in good hands, comedy wise.

First off, you should be happy that Bill Nye is going to have another show, Bill Nye Saves the World, in a dire 2016 where there are people who think the earth is flat, staunchly deny climate change, and are more skeptical of science than we’ve been in recent memory.

Secondly, you should be happy that there’s a designated head comedy writer for the show and that gig has been bestowed on the very funny and clever Mike Drucker. Drucker is a great stand-up and his written for such big cultural institutions as Nintendo and The Tonight Show.

Thirdly, you should be happy it’ll be on Netflix, so you can watch over and over when you want.

Arguably, the father of mockumentaries, Christopher Guest, has his latest film coming very soon to Netflix.

After covering the worlds of hair metal, dog shows, folk music, and more, Guest points his focus towards the world of mascots with his usual suspects of Fred Willard, Jennifer Coolidge, and Parker Posey as well as the delightful Zach Woods, Bob Balaban, Sarah Baker, Christopher O’Dowd, Jane Lynch, Ed Begley Jr., and more.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise, but this is one of the funniest trailers we’ve seen in awhile.

Look for Mascots to start streaming on October 13th on Netflix.

Netflix has built up its comedy branding so well, especially when it comes to comedy specials, that they now almost deal exclusively in big names.

It’s great to see Quinn having one of his solo shows get turned into a special it’ll also be fascinating to see what Watts does with the freedom of a Netflix special given that his last hour was done live in Central Park.

Boyish Girl Interrupted, I’m Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine), and Neither Here Nor There are now available for the “listening-inclined”.

If you’re either the sort of person that prefers their stand-up with audio only or one that doesn’t have an HBO or Netflix account/password, you can now get to listen to three comedy specials from three of our favorite comedians making the rounds these days.

Tig Notaro’s Boyish Girl Interrupted, first premiered as an HBO special, is now on iTunes.

Jen Kirkman’s I’m Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine), first premiered as a Netflix special, is also now available on iTunes.

Henry Phillips’ Neither Here Nor There is set to premiere as a comedy special on Vimeo On Demand on August 15th, but you can stream the audio version on Audible’s streaming service, Channels, if you’re an Audible member right now. On August 19th, the album version will be available digitally at iTunes and wherever else digital albums or sold.

So, get in on all of these, especially for the fact that you can now probably clock in three new hours of fine comedy while working.

Mitch Hurwitz Has Finished Recutting Season 4 of Arrested Development Into 22 Episodes

Two years ago, there was talk of Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz recutting season 4 of the show.

Turns out that Hurwitz has indeed finished that project, which happens to include new Ron Howard narration over 22 episodes that run 22 minutes long, a la a typical sitcom running time in contrast to the varying length of the original 15 episodes of season 4 that went over a half hour. There is no word on if or when these “2.0 version” episodes of season 4 might find their way to Netflix, but, with knowledge of their existence, they’re probably bound to come out before too long.

Netflix Lands Chuck Lorre/David Javerbaum Pot Comedy Series ‘Disjointed’ Starring Kathy Bates

Multicam sitcom mogul Chuck Lorre (Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Dharma and Greg, Mom) plus the brilliant David Javerbaum of The Daily Show, An Act of God, and so much more, plus Kathy Bates plus a pot dispensary equals one of the more intriguing series pick-ups for this entire year.

So many worlds colliding here that we’re very curious to see what they’ll come up with and we don’t have any good guesses as to what it may indeed look like.
