From either side of the comedy spectrum, Netflix has got you covered.

The UK’s Jimmy Carr new hour special Funny Business and the Judd Apatow-produced and John Lee-directed Pee-wee’s Big Holiday movie are Netflix’s latest comedy offerings.

If you’ve finished up with Netflix’s Characters and Love, binge watching the two might actually be less of a time commitment than going through an entire first season of a Netflix series.

Valentine’s Day may be past us all (thankfully), but that doesn’t mean you can still reexamine the complexities and futilities of modern relationships and romance by binge watching the latest Netflix series.

All 10 episodes of Love, from Apatow, Arfin, and Rust with Rust and Gillian Jacobs starring are now streaming on Netflix.

HBO Orders Pete Holmes’ “Crashing” to Series, Executive Produced by Judd Apatow

(via Deadline)

HBO isn’t going without a Judd Apatow-produced series on their line-up.

Pete Holmes will indeed be returning to TV, this time with a single camera comedy based on his life rather than a talk show. Crashing will follow the portion of his life following his divorce where he crashed on comedians’ couches around NYC. Fans of Holmes’ podcast You Made It Weird should be more than familiar with the subject.

Holmes created the show and will star and Judd Apatow directed the pilot and is on board as an executive producer.

This counts as three series that Judd will be overseeing this year, the other ones being the upcoming Love at Netflix and Girls, which will be coming to a close in the not so distant future.

Here’s a Full Trailer for Apatow/Rust/Arfin’s New Netflix Series “Love”

Judd Apatow’s next series after Girls, that he’s overseeing along with Paul Rust and Lesley Arfin, is coming to Netflix and seems to seems to stay in that somewhat grounded reality of questioning the old template we have for relationships and relationship dynamics.

Paul Rust and Gillian Jacobs also seem like a fun pairing as well.

Watch the trailer for Love here, then look for all episodes to start streaming on Feb. 19th.

The Judd Apatow/Lesley Arfin/Paul Rust series Love starring Paul Rust and Gillian Jacobs coming to Netflix has our interest peaked, especially since Girls is coming to a close soon.

From the looks of these promos, those of you who fell in love with Master of None and are fans of Catastrophe, Togetherness, Transparent, and You’re The Worst, Netflix has got another romantic dramedy on their hands that you’ll probably want to check out.

All the episodes start streaming on Feb. 19th.

Also, we’re pretty sure that’s Kyle Kinane getting sucker punched at the end of the promo above.

Teaser for Judd Apatow, Lesley Arfin, and Paul Rust’s “Love” Teases 2016 Resolutions

There isn’t any footage from the show or any footage of anything at all really in this teaser for Netflix’s new comedy series Love from Judd Apatow, Lesley Arfin, and Paul Rust.

Instead, there’s a montage of title cards that offer some more realistic resolutions. We’re guessing that’s a list of issues that are going to come up in the series between its stars Paul Rust and Gillian Jacobs. Let your imagination run wild with that until a proper trailer drops.

Look for Love to start streaming on Feb. 19th (note how that’s five whole days after Valentine’s Day).

Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon’s “Big Sick” Goes Into Production with Judd Apatow Producing and Michael Showalter Directing

It’s like we’re playing ‘Christmas Present Madlibs for Comedy Nerds’.

All the names above, Kumail, Emily, Apatow, and Michael Showalter, are essentially buzzwords for those in-the-comedy-know, especially when it comes to The Meltdown, Stella, and Undeclared. Now they’re all teaming up with a script from Nanjiani and Gordon with Apatow as well as the very accomplished producer Barry Mendel attached to produce and Showalter directing.

FilmNation is set to release and finance the production of what is called Big Sick and that’s all that we know about the project at this time. Still, just knowing all the people involved here is good enough for you to go along with whatever movie they’re cooking up.

HBO Orders Pete Holmes Comedy Pilot “Crashing” To Be Directed and Produced by Judd Apatow

We knew it was only a matter of time before Pete Holmes got another show.

Pete Holmes has written a pilot about the time in his life where he just gotten divorced and was crashing on a couch of comedian friends, hence the title.

You’ve probably heard plenty about this on Pete’s podcast You Made It Weird, but seeing it actually played out on a sitcom is very intriguing.

It would seem more than probably that Pete would have all his friends on the show, which would mean we’d all get to see Kumail Nanjiani on yet another premium cable show.

Judd Apatow To Produce Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s HBO Anthology Series

(via Sydney Morning Herald)

Though still largely under wraps, the series that Jemaine and Taika have been working on seems to be coming together.

Similar to the way American Horror Story uses the same cast for different stories, the episodes of this series from Clement and Waititi will use the same cast for stories ranging from time travel to dance contests.

The addition of Apatow should mean that this project is picking up steam and hopefully that will bring the series to the screen relatively soon.

“The Nightly Show” and Judd Apatow on “The Tonight Show” Torched Bill Cosby

As Hannibal Buress really brought to light the allegations of Bill Cosby’s rapes and sexual assaults, comedy was certainly going to keep that torch burning after that damning 2005 deposition was recently released in full.

So, The Nightly Show pretty much dedicated their entire show last night to taking down Cosby with a few, great incendiary bars rapped by The Nightly Show’s own Holly Walker…

…Larry’s opening segment going through the aforementioned 2005 deposition…

…and having a panel really break down why everyone needs to let go of their nostalgia of Bill Cosby.

Then, on The Tonight Show, a show that Bill Cosby has very memorably frequented over decades, let Judd Apatow do a stand-up set where he closed with a fine, scorching send-up of Cosby.

In case you weren’t aware, comedy isn’t going to let one of its former heroes have a mere fall from grace. Rather, it’s going to kick him all the way down and keep kicking.

While on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Mike Birbiglia talked the ins-and-outs of being in Amy Schumer and Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck, which is, apparently, a little like getting a hotel bill after watching a bunch of porn in your room and then having an older sibling be better than you at whatever you’re best at.

Watch his interview on Late Night here.

Also, make sure to watch Trainwreck this weekend. You’ll laugh really hard at how Birbiglia is used in the movie.

In case you were wondering, Amy Schumer, Judd Apatow, Dave Attell, Colin Quinn, Vanessa Bayer and Mike Birbiglia are having plenty of fun on The Trainwreck Comedy Tour.

For instance, a fan left a copy of Judd Apatow’s new book Sick In The Head on stage with a message inside requesting that he graciously autograph the book. However, the book was discovered while Mike Birbiglia was on stage and Mike, for a funny moment, gave a surprising reaction. It was the sort of surprise that Apatow felt needed a revenge.

Judd Apatow Is Co-Writing Comedy About Soldiers in The Iraq War

A quick glance at Apatow’s IMDB page will show you that he’s venturing into new territory, which could be a good change of pace.

During a chat with Pete Holmes on his You Made It Weird podcast, Apatow announced that he’s working with award winning writer who wrote Redeployment, Phil Klay, on writing an original dramedy following the lives of the troops deployed during the Iraq War.

If anything there’s to look forward to, it’s the fact that there will probably a better comedy focused on the troops that have gone to Iraq than Delta Farce.

Last night’s Night of Too Many Stars on Comedy Central was one wild, raucous, probably NSFW ride all in support of autism programs.

Such things as Louis C.K. taking an auction winner to take a bow at a Broadway play they weren’t in and Sarah Silverman confronting other auction winners like she would confront her parents all really happened.

Though the special is over, you can still support the charity via donation here or through entering into contests to win tickets to the last taping of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, tickets to The Roast of Justin Beiber, having a Vine video directed by Judd Apatow, be drawn into The Simpsons, or have a White Castle slider named after you.

If you were honest with yourself, you’d probably just pay and enter these contests without supporting any charity, so get on donating/entering now.

Amy Schumer is putting her own stamp on the romantic comedy genre as the writer and star of Trainwreck. With Judd Apatow directing as well as Bill Hader, Vanessa Bayer, and LeBron James co-starring (as well as some nice cameos from Colin Quinn, Dave Attell, and Tilda Swinton), Schumer definitely is going to bring hew own raunchier persona to the normal genre tropes. It’s scheduled for release on July 17th and has the potential to be a hit R-rated comedy of the summer.

See for yourself in the red band trailer for Trainwreck.

Judd Apatow Wrote a Spec Script For The Simpsons Right at The Start That Is Now Going to Be a Real Episode

(via TV Guide)

Only after a few episodes of The Simpsons had aired, Judd Apatow opted to write a spec script of the show and send it around. That was almost 25 years ago and it’s now going to be made into an actual episode.

This so rarely happens with spec scripts that are current, but Apatow’s stature in comedy and love of The Simpsons make a good case for this.

So, almost a quarter of a century later, on Jan. 11th, Apatow’s dream of writing a Simpsons episode will finally come true.

Netflix has already nabbed up The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt from NBC and now they’ve gotten distribution rights from Universal, the film side of NBC Universal, to the upcoming Pee-wee Herman movie that will start shooting sometime next year.

Judd Apatow is producing and Paul Reubens and Paul Rust are co-writing the movie together, which makes for another big score for the online streaming giant and yet another sign of where movie and TV distribution is headed.

While Craig Ferguson is set to end his run of The Late Late Show on Dec. 19th and James Corden isn’t taking over the role of host until Mar. 9th, CBS will still continue The Late Late Show with a grouping of guests hosts.

Announced today, Jim Gaffigan, Judd Apatow, Will Arnett, Thomas Lennon, and more will fill in during the winter at The Late Late Show.

As John Oliver’s run as host at The Daily Show ended up being a test run for his own show, perhaps the very same thing could happen during any of the weeks that any of the aforementioned interim hosts.

However, there is no word on whether there will be interim Geoff Petersons.

Even if the project ends up being something else, the idea of something between The League, Girls, and Enlightened, with a dash of Team America/South Park sounds pretty great.

Netflix Orders 2 Seasons of Judd Apatow Series “Love” Starring Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust

Not only has Netflix set up the return of Judd Apatow at the head of his own TV show (remember Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared?) with a nice top billing of Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust, but they’re not wasting any more time in development by ordering Love straight to series and doubling down with two seasons.

Currently, there are few details about Love other than it will explore the sort of fragile, counterintuitive relationships that Apatow loves delving into.

So, with that, Netflix must know something great that we all don’t know with two seasons ordered.

Hulu Could Possibly Land a Show Written by Judd Apatow, Lesley Arfin, and Paul Rust Starring Gillian Jacobs

As far as Hulu’s original series go, this would be a great get. A pilot entitled Love, which is produced by Judd Apatow and co-written by Judd Apatow, Lesley Arfin, and Paul Rust might move forward with Gillian Jacobs as its star pending a few potential contractual and scheduling conflicts.

Basically, we’ll have to see what happens with Community to find out what happens with Love.
