Dan Harmon’s Krapopolis Gets a Third Season Renewal Order Before Even Premiering
At this point, we’ve been teased plenty for Dan Harmon’s non-Rick & Morty animated series, Krapopolis, that has set to premiere on Fox indefinintely. That’s the thing; it hasn’t even premiered yet. Despite years of first looks, exclusive clips, and even exclusive NFT Krapopolis content, the show itself has actually hit the air/streaming platforms and, this week, Fox announced that Krapopolis will be getting a third season.
Fox has long since been a network titan when it comes to adult animation and continue to do so with a programming block of The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, The Great North, and Family Guy. Adult Swim and Netflix have made their mark with several series from Aqua Teen Hunger Force to Big Mouth, but they haven’t lasted as long as the dynasty that is Fox Animation. With that in mind, it’s quite the to see top brass at Fox, especially in a time where TV is shrinking their production and programming slates for cost saving measures, to hand out a third season to Harmon’s show that envisions the pettiest version of various gods across cultures trying to make the ideal human city.
As astounding as that is, it’s hopeful to see a broadcast network actually have faith enough in their product to give it room to grow, evolve, and, perhaps, become another legacy adult animated series to follow in the footsteps left by Matt Groening and Loren Bouchard.
