Paul Rudd Manages To Pull Off ‘Clip Prank’ on Conan Yet Again

July 17, 2015

At this point, Paul Rudd has pranked Conan O’Brien by playing the same clip from Mac and Me rather than a clip from a movie that he’s promoting.

He’s done it so many times that we’re all expecting it.

So, how can Rudd still make the same joke surprising, especially when Conan brings up the history of Rudd, Conan, and Mac and Me?

Well, just watch Rudd do it again flawlessly while promoting one of his biggest movies to date, Ant-Man.

According to this latest edition of Bill Tull’s budget tips, he writes these tips himself.

In preparation for Conan O’Brien’s trip to Comic-Con, propmaster Bill Tull opted to make a new edition of his budget tips, this time focusing on cosplay.

Due to time restraints, the segment didn’t make air. Thankfully, Tull “fought” to have them shown on air in last night’s episode.

We’re fully expecting to see these cosplay tips be put into practice very soon.

If you’ve ever wondered how Conan O’Brien came to be the renowned talk show host that he is (besides the oft-documented story of working on The Simpsons then replacing Letterman at Late Night), then watch his “official” origin story that he presented at his second day at Comic-Con.

Also, in the same day, Conan ran into a bit of problem with a very surprising appearance by Chris Parnell apparently cosplaying as Game of Thrones author George RR Martin who had a very surprising book cover on the books the was signing.

Having already done zombie bits with a Walking Dead episode of Conan in the past, we can’t imagine what he’s going to pull on tonight’s episode with the cast of the Walking Dead.

Conan O’Brien kicked off his week at Comic-Con appropriately with taking Mad Max: Fury Road’s Doof Wagon down from LA to San Diego.

On top of that, he found “secret” audition tapes for the new Wolverine that will soon replace Hugh Jackman which includes Hannibal Buress, Patton Oswalt, Larry King, and more.

Even more impressive than that, O’Brien passed a “Comic-Con Citizenship Test” proctored by none other than the Nerdist himself, Chris Hardwick.

This was all just Conan’s first day at Comic-Con and we can only imagine the possibilities of what’s to come. Let’s hope for special editions of Clueless Gamer and a walk from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on the Comic-Con floor.

John Roy took the stage at Conan for a great set in 2012 with a dark hoodie and a red t-shirt.

Three years later, he did pretty much the same thing with what looks to be the same hoodie and t-shirt combo and another great set. Maybe he’ll make it a tradition?

Karen Kilgariff and Drennon Davis have been two of our favorites for some time on their own, but they’ve recently joined their brilliant musical comedy stylings together and make hilarious and wondrous music together.

Now, the whole country got to see what we’ve been lucky to see for the last few months when they played an anthem for getting too high on Conan.

Perhaps, after, we can all be “masters of our domain” and conserve all the water we need here in California.

To Watch “Conan In Cuba” In Cuba, You Have To Bootleg It

May 25, 2015
Uncategorized

Even though sanctions have been lifted, there are some Cuban bans on U.S. TV that still have yet to be done away with.

Two months ago, Conan O’Brien beat everyone in television to doing the first big time American TV appearance in Cuba in decades. It was a landmark moment for U.S.-Cuba relations as well as a highly anticipated fantastic hour of television.

With that being said, the Cuban people, probably many of whom were featured in the Conan in Cuba episode, couldn’t legally watch any of Conan’s visit as watching many American TV programs are highly frowned upon by the Cuban government.

We say “frowned upon” because many street vendors seem to get away with openly selling bootlegged DVDs of various American TV series, which coincidentally also includes Conan in Cuba.

So, watch Cuban folks buy bootlegs of Conan in Cuba in Cuba here.

With Conan O’Brien personally conducting the performance reviews, how well do you think Associate Producer Jordan Schlansky fared?

Conan donned a pair of intimidating glasses and the title of CEO of Conaco to give his staff a performance review.

As working at Conan isn’t like most jobs, these performance reviews were a little different from the norm (i.e. preparedness to save O’Brien in the event of an emergency). Obviously, O’Brien pays a visit to Jordan Schlansky to see what his worth to Conaco is.

On top of all of that, Andy Richter’s performance review is even more touchy than the rest and also pretty priceless.

Conan O’Brien To Go on Six Week Long Remote Trips Next Year

(via Brian Steinberg/@bristei)

Whether they read this thing we wrote awhile back, we’re thrilled to hear that Conan is going to roam more “in the wild” so to speak in 2016.

Probably one of the best parts of this era of Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show career is when he steps away from the desk and couch and goes out into the world. For years, O’Brien has made situations that wouldn’t seem to have any inherent comedy in them like delivering Chinese food, going into doll store, or doing commercial auditions, and make something absolutely hysterical. It’s comedy alchemy making comedy gold from seemingly nothing.

Conan’s trip to Cuba is proof positive of how doing an entire show of remotes would work quite well.

So, ahead of what is sure to be a memorable week at Comic-Con for Conan and company next month, we all have way more remote segments to look forward to from Conan in the form of six week-long trips starting next year.

Hopefully, this means more trips to breweries, distilleries, etc. where Conan tries to shorten the guided tour to get to drinking.
