In case you weren’t aware, Erica Oyama wrote and created Burning Love.

Though there isn’t much details to “Schooled” available right now, but the backing of Poehler’s Paperkite Productions with both Amy Poehler and Brooke Posch attached as producers and Oyama set to write this high school teacher centric comedy should prove to be something to look out for.

Megan also tries to make naked eggs with acrylic nails on.

So, please give it a watch, enjoy, and learn here.

You’re going to see long lines near Sunset and Western all week long.

Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts, and Matt Besser are putting together an in-house variety series that they’re calling The UCB Show.

Though the line-ups haven’t been announced, you can probably bet on most of the folks who have their photo hung in the lobbies of any of the four UCB theatres might be on the show like James Adomian.

The tapings are 7:30PM/9:30PM tonight through Thurs. at UCB Sunset. They’re free, but all the reservations are currently full. However, as with most UCB shows, there will be a stand by line.

Fortunately, because this is a taping, you’ll very likely get to see what the lucky hundred or so people will get to see this week.

Watch the first episode of EXPERIMENTING with Megan Amram here.

We’re counting on one hell of a halftime speech.

Ike Barinholtz, who is in Poehler’s upcoming Sisters at Universal, co-wrote the next Poehler vehicle with David Stassen. They’ve put Amy at the center of a huddle to be the head coach of a NBA team.

Don’t be surprised to see pictures of Leslie Knope photoshopped at court side very soon.

Throwing a party as one last hurrah has been the premise for many a comedy movie, but Sisters, from SNL’s Paula Pell and Pitch Perfect’s Jason Moore, has one of America’s favorite comedy duos, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, presiding over the over-the-top festivities this time around.

Though they’ve finished with hosting The Golden Globes, you’ll be able to watch Fey and Poehler together again on Dec. 18th thrash a house with their party.

Watch the trailer here, then look for it in theaters this holiday season on Dec. 18th.

Underground Casino Comedy “The House” Will Have Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, and Jason Mantzoukas

Hopefully, this will have echoes of Old School.

In “The House”, Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler play a couple that try to win back their daughter’s college tuition via an off-the-books casino. You wouldn’t be surprised to know that Jason Mantzoukas’ character has a lot to do with suggesting that idea.

So far, this has all the makings of the comedies of yesteryear that made Ferrell into the household name he is today. We can’t wait to see a trailer to see if that holds true.

You know the drill by now. Shut up and take our money.

The upcoming San Diego Comic-Con will have exclusive action figures of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in suits as they were when they co-anchored Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update.

It’ll come complete with The Weekend Update desk, so you can inevitably have a desk on your desk as these action figures will probably mostly be on display at either your home or work office.

Be sure to pick up one if you’re at SDCC this year.

Disney Trying a Special Tues. Screening of “Inside Out” in Hundreds of Theaters Across The Country

While theater chains have midnight screenings on Thursdays and sometimes a little earlier, very rarely do you hear of a big studio movie, especially one of potential animated summer juggernaut “Inside Out” playing in several theaters a few days before the official theatrical release date.

Turns out that Disney is giving this special theater events (RiffTrax, Opera at The Met) a try.

On Tues. Jun. 16th (three days before actual release), Disney Pixar’s Inside Out will have one special screening in participating theaters around the U.S. that will include the usual short film as well as a satellite broadcasted Q&A with the director Pete Docter and Amy Poehler as her character Joy.

Our guess is that it will probably sell out in advance and probably encourage more pre-release events in the future.

Bill Murray and Sofia Coppola Christmas Special Will Follow Murray Avoiding Getting Representation and Will Have Clooney, Poehler, Etc.

So, that Christmas special that will star Bill Murray and be directed by Sofia Coppola is coming together.

First off, Murray will play himself as will George Clooney, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, and more. Then, eschewing more traditional holiday tropes in the majority of Christmas specials, the story will center on Bill avoiding by someone signing him as his representation in what we can only assume to be a Lost In Translation-esque romp through LA.

So, we were already on board for this and now, we’re even more on board if that’s possible.

No word on where this will end up, but we’re thinking HBO, AMC, IFC, FX, Netflix, Amazon, etc.

Disney Pixar’s latest Inside Out, which features Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Lewis Black, Bill Hader, and Phyllis Smith as the voice of adorably anthropomorphized emotions got a new trailer today.

From the looks of it, it looks like this will be another home run with the creative and cleverly imagined world and fully realized, charming non-human characters. Also, it’s almost too perfect that Poehler is the voice of Joy.

Inside Out is set for a Jun. 19th release.

The Cast of “Parks and Recreation” Say Goodbye The Only Way They Know How on Late Night

Right after the finale of Parks and Recreation aired last night, the entire cast as well as co-creator Mike Schur (and a special guest that came to “Jamm” things up) appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to relive all the memories.

Of course, the goodbye, perhaps the last time all of them will be in a room together went as memorable and as in the spirit-of-Parks-and-Rec as it could be.

There was a barely rehearsed song for Seth Meyers.

There were toasts from one cast member to another one picked from a hat.

There was even another song that was supposed to be a final rendetion of “Bye, Bye Li’l Sebastian”, but Jim O’Heir, Aubrey Plaza, and Jon Glaser had other plans.

The SNL 40th Anniversary Special Brings Back “Celebrity Jeopardy”, Got 23 Million People Watching, and Is Perfect Boost For SNL App

The Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special was the gigantic, nostalgic whirlwind of a walk down Studio 8H that we were led to believe it was.

Cast members, hosts, writers, etc. from the show in 1975 until now were in attendance to pay homage to SNL not only as a show, but a cultural institution.

There was a big ol’ musical revue kicked off by Martin Short and Maya Rudolph as Beyonce, Weekend Update anchored by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Jane Curtin, a touching In Memoriam tribute (that also has a pretty great burn at the end), and rare glimpses into auditions of SNL cast members as well as some folks that should have been cast members like Stephen Colbert.

Also, SNL’s Celebrity Jeopardy lived once more, complete with Darrell Hammond as Sean Connery and Norm MacDonald as Burt Reynolds,  and was every bit as glorious during its run in the late 90’s through the 2000s.

It should come as no surprise that this special scored a record 23 million viewers from last night (via Variety) and will probably have millions watching several of the clips over at Hulu and YouTube.

With all of the reminiscing of seasons past, it’s perfect timing on SNL’s part to push their SNL app that gives access to thousands of clips from the past 40 seasons.

If you didn’t catch the special last night, hopefully you’ll have today off to catch up.

Kroll Show is also premiering its final season, though it’s only the third for Kroll, on Comedy Cetnral at 10:30PM.

The Antics of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig Make Golden Globes Worth Watching

Last night’s Golden Globes was the third and last time that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosted the ceremony and they did not disappoint. Their monologue had all their jokes and bits hit so well, as you’d expect for the room and over the telecast. They also didn’t shy away from the Bill Cosby jokes they said they were going to, an incredibly bold move for an awards show monologue.

This makes us think that they’re idea that this would be the last Golden Globes one worth entertaining.

However, it would also be worth entertaining the presenter segment with Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. Come to think of it, they would be a pretty great hosting duo as well, wouldn’t they? #GoldenGlobesSeason2?

The feature “Sisters” (formerly called The Nest), set to come out Christmas 2015, is one good example. Give the very first teaser a watch here.

If you’re in LA right now, the rain couldn’t have come at more perfect time if you were looking more reasons to stay in tonight. Already, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will be serving their hosting duties at The Golden Globes at 8PM on NBC. Twitter should be full on non-stop live-tweeting from both comedy folk and non-comedy folk that might be worth perusing from the comfort of your own home.

On top of that, Girls returns for its fourth season at HBO at 9PM and the series premiere of The Duplass Brothers’ Togetherness follows right after at 9:30PM. To cap off the evening, there’s also the season four premiere of Episodes on Showtime at 10:30PM.

So, get comfy make plans/DVR accordingly.

So, whoever had a Wet Hot American Summer closet shrine that was constantly praying for a sequel of some kind, it worked and we thank you for that.

There has been a lot of build up to Disney Pixar’s latest original animated feature Inside Out over the last year or so, especially since with how the movie depicts how human thoughts and emotions work through an adorable set of characters voiced by the likes of Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, and more.

The teaser gave us a little taste of what that might be like as well as a rundown of Disney Pixar’s filmography.

Now, the first full trailer is here and we think that Disney Pixar has got another heartwarming, funny hit on their hands.

Inside Out hits theaters Jun. 19th, 2015.

Once, it was a pilot at the USA Network, but now, Difficult People with Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner has gone straight to series over at Hulu.

Amy Poehler is still on board as an executive producer and the show merely follows whatever the hell Eichner and Klausner get themselves into in NYC.

So, all the elements of this show (the cast, producers, premise, and it being at Hulu) promise something that has the potential to be pretty fantastic.

Yesterday, you might have heard that Comedy Central has gotten Amazon’s Sarah Babineau to come on board to develop original series on the East Coast.

That move might have something do with the fact that Comedy Central is now losing one of their own execs in Brooke Posch to Amy Poehler’s production company, Paper Kite Productions.

Posch has worked closely with Poehler at Comedy Central, specifically on Broad City and will no doubt help bring up similarly great things via Paper Kite.

2015 Might Be The Last Time Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Host the Golden Globes

October 31, 2014
Uncategorized

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

This January, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will have taken the stage at The Golden Globes as the evening’s host for the third time. According to Poehler in a recent interview on The Today Show, she’s leaning towards the idea of it be the duo’s last go around for the gig as she’s worried that it might be going “downhill” if she continues.

The two have been the best hosts of an awards show in quite some time and it would be sad for them to stop. Still, just because she and Tina won’t host The Golden Globes again, doesn’t mean they couldn’t host any number of other awards shows including The Oscars, Emmys, MTV Movie Awards, etc. etc.

Let’s hope that happens.
