The prospect of Kids in the Hall’s Kevin McDonald doing a new anything is definitely worth your time, attention, and money. The more elevated prospect of him doing a full on rock opera that’s based on “totally true events” should make it somehow more imperative for you to buy tickets and go to The Bell House on Thurs. Aug. 31st at 7PM.

Come this August, neither is just a fabricated scenario. Kevin McDonald and @ThisMyShowPresents will be premiering Kevin McDonald Superstar (A Rock Opera) at Brooklyn’s Bell House that’s all sourced from the life and times of Kevin McDonald. Joining him will be a treasure trove of NYC comedy including KITH’s Dave Foley, Dave Hill, Julie Klausner, Kevin McDonald, Jean Grae, and John Wlaysweski.

We’re pretty sure this is going to sell out way in advance, so go get your tickets for $30.57 a pop here right now.

Pick of the Day: Julie Klausner: Medleys and Other New Variants (in LA) 4/29-5/1

News
hotel cafe, julie klausner, los angeles comedy, musical comedy

The charmingly sardonic wit of Julie Klausner is usually reserved for NYC where she resides, leaving Angelenos to just obsess over her podcast, Double Threat, and TV show, Difficult People and experience her from afar.

Thankfully, Julie’s got a new shiny show she’s taking around including three nights at The Hotel Cafe in the heart of Hollywood. Called Medleys and Other New Variants, Julie has dug up some of the most delightfully obscure songs (one being from Kate Bush’s Silence of the Lambs musical for starters) and whipped some of her own “clevleys” (clever medleys) as well.

It’s such a special thing that Klausner is bringing to the City of Angels that the first two nights, 4/29 & 4/30 have sold out and there are only tickets for May 1st. You best get your tickets for $41.50 (includes fees) quick right here.

New episodes will be streaming every Tuesday.

Difficult People Season 3′s Trailer Hints at Wildest, Albeit Still Cynical, Season Yet

The crux of Difficult People relies on the mutual interest of Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner‘s characters standing from a distance to revel in their cynical judgment of others.

With that said, it looks like the third season of the show delightfully coerces them into possibly their most brightly colored misadventures yet.

See for yourself here, then look for episodes of season 3 of Difficult People to start streaming on Tuesday, August 8th.

For Spiderman, the maxim goes, “With great power, comes great responsibility.”

See for yourself as Julie and Billy get a little bit of a break and how they abuse it in the season 2 trailer for Difficult People.

Look for the new season to start streaming on July 12th on Hulu.

In a way, Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner get to live out the sort of loud, frustrating type of people that seems like fun as long we’re not doing any of the outbursts or being personally subjected to them.

Just look what they do to a brand new intern in this clip from season 2.

After that, look for episodes of season 2 of Difficult People to start streaming on Hulu on Tuesday, July 12th.

Once, it was a pilot at the USA Network, but now, Difficult People with Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner has gone straight to series over at Hulu.

Amy Poehler is still on board as an executive producer and the show merely follows whatever the hell Eichner and Klausner get themselves into in NYC.

So, all the elements of this show (the cast, producers, premise, and it being at Hulu) promise something that has the potential to be pretty fantastic.
