Hopefully, this will have echoes of Old School.

In “The House”, Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler play a couple that try to win back their daughter’s college tuition via an off-the-books casino. You wouldn’t be surprised to know that Jason Mantzoukas’ character has a lot to do with suggesting that idea.

So far, this has all the makings of the comedies of yesteryear that made Ferrell into the household name he is today. We can’t wait to see a trailer to see if that holds true.

In any other hands, the premise of having to raise money for a daughter’s college fund might go over-the-top in a way that’s been overplayed over the last several years.

However, Will Ferrell returning to a sort of Old School vibe in such a movie, with a starring role no less, might be worth keeping tabs on.

So, we’ll just wait and see what a trailer for what will be called The House soon enough after their shoot this Summer and we can only they don’t play all the funniest bits in said trailer.
