In the Spoken Word category, Stephen Colbert, Carol Burnett, David Sedaris, and Billy Crystal also do well to represent comedy at The Grammy Awards.
That’s right, wonderful public radio comedy variety show Wits with John Moe was able to uncover and book the enemy band of Yo La Tengo, Si Se Tango as led by Paul F. Tompkins and have them thrown down in an impromptu battle of the bands.
Your Monday will be made a thousand times better by watching this.

Sundance 2014 Adds Nick Offerman, Amy Poehler, and More David Cross to Its Lineup
Sundance should be thrilled that David Cross’ Hits and Nick Offerman’s American Ham directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts are coming to Park City, UT next year.
That’s right: Offerman has apparently made American Ham, his traveling stage show, into a movie.
After, well, everything that’s Community has been through, Community is back for its 5th season on Jan. 2nd on NBC.

Jason Bateman’s upcoming Bad Words is another spelling bee movie, but thankfully done in a turn for more dark comedy as opposed to uplifting feel good movie.

NBC could definitely make up for letting Mulaney go by having one of our favorite comedians that America is going to know and love very soon, Jerrod Carmichael, have a series.
Let’s all hope this gets picked up very soon.
As teased last week, Broad City will be premiering in Jan. on Comedy Central. Now we know that it’s going to be Wed. Jan. 22nd 10:30PM. So, mark whatever you need to mark to remember.

30 Rock, Arrested Development, Veep and More Grab SAG Awards Nominations
The SAG Awards just announced their nominations and you might be not surprised that 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Modern Family, and Veep got nominations.
However, it was nice to see Bruce Dern and James Gandolfini get nominated for Nebraska and Enough Said, respectively.
Randy Liedtke, who some of you might know as the mastermind behind the Kyle Kinane vs. Pace Foods Twitter fight, is up to his next “piece” if you want to think of his pranks as works of art (that’s how we see it anyway).
He baked cookies in the shape and decorated them in the color of an iPhone (a post on his blog that went viral), then decided to see what would happen if he drove around like he was illegally on his phone.
Well, it turns out, he might possibly be in trouble with the police. More on this story/prank as it develops/unfolds.

Rob Reiner To Produce & Direct Series Adaptation Of Novel ‘Basket Case’ For Spike
The great Rob Reiner is preparing to do a TV series that could be just another procedural/detective thriller type show save for the fact that Rob Reiner is producing and directing it.
As it turns out, Andy Kindler deciding the fate of a dispute between two children continues to be hilarious as evidenced by the second episode of Kids Court at Nerdist.

Jack Black, Fred Armisen to Star in MOCAtv Web Comedy Series
Apparently, Fred Armisen will be playing a superhero named Ambiance Man and Jack Black will be his complimentary villain Unidentifiable Odor. All of this is for a web series through the upcoming YouTube Channel of MOCA (Museum Of Contemporary Art) in LA.
So, we’ll have to wait until next Friday to see what this is exactly, but we’re pretty into it without a teaser or set photos.
Jimmy Kimmel Live gave a sneak peak of the new season of Billy On The Street that doesn’t premiere until March.
Thankfully, aggressively quizzing people with Christmas carols along with Amy Poehler is pretty amazing so it’ll kill some to most of the time until the premiere. Watch the clip here.
