Amy Schumer Gets Bill Nye To Try To Explain The Universe, Imagines a Bill Cosby Trial, and Appears on “The Bachelorette”

Uncategorized

Amy Schumer is continuing to excellently back her Peabody win.

In the latest round of Amy Schumer’s rounds on TV, she got Bill Nye The Science Guy to get frustrated about how most people casually think about the universe as well as satirize the silent majority that somehow, almost inexplicably, still attends Bill Cosby shows all on Inside Amy Schumer.

On top of all of that, she was one of a few comedians that put the Bachelorette contestants through the ringer on the latest date.

All in all, it seems like a routine week in the year of Amy Schumer.

HBO Orders a Pilot of “The Gorburger Show”

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

Your favorite blue demon talk show host is back and possibly better than ever as they might be on HBO.

One of the gems on TJ Miller’s resume that probably doesn’t get enough shine is The Gorburger Show where he played a blue demon that looks like it fresh out of Big Trouble in Little China and switched off between terrifying employees of the studio he invaded and chatting with a musicians. Somehow, it’s less absurdist than The Eric Andre Show.

Now, HBO has ordered a pilot where Miller gets to return as Gorburger and will talk to the likes of Ed Helms and Johnny Knoxville and get to do even more crazy segments that blur the line between Miller’s genuine curiosity and the bloodlust of Gorburger.

Keep your fingers crossed that HBO gets more into the TJ Miller business.

Complete Box Set of “Parks and Recreation” Coming Out Next Week

With TV headed more and more towards online streaming and disc drives are slowly disappearing on any sort of computer that isn’t a desktop, DVD box sets of your favorite shows are quickly going the way of vinyl records as collector items.

Already, The Simpsons have discontinued DVD box set production.

That being said, having the entire series of Parks and Recreation would still be pretty great. It’s probably a perfect gift for plenty of people you know. NBC is releasing a box set of the complete series, currently priced at $149.98, next week on Jun. 2nd.

At the very least, you can ensure a better chance of still being able to watch Parks and Rec if the “singularity” ever happens.

You can pre-order the box set here.

In His Spare Time, Jon Stewart Has Been Helping Veterans Break Into The TV Business

When Stewart departs from The Daily Show this Summer, he’ll have even more time to do amazing stuff like this.

For awhile now, Jon Stewart has been secretly running a program through The Daily Show that’s designed to teach veterans the ins and outs of working in television. Vets have gone on from the program to not only work on The Daily Show, but elsewhere as producers and other behind-the-scenes positions.

Coupled with directing the highly underrated Rosewater, Stewart should be up for some sort of humanitarian prize.

Considering how much of a following he has on Twitter, 1.1 million, largely built up here in the U.S., it’s a curiosity what was taking so long for Catastrophe to find a home here for American viewers.

Either way, Amazon Prime subscribers will get to enjoy the series following an unplanned pregnancy of Horgan by Delaney starting Fri. Jun. 19th.

If you haven’t already had a nice Memorial Day Weekend, this news should do the trick.

According to our sources, Netflix has ordered an original series from Maria Bamford, Mitchell Hurwitz, and Pam Brady (South Park, Team America).

Hurwitz, who made Bamford one of the most memorable parts of season 4 of Arrested Development, and Brady created the series as a starring vehicle for Maria who will also be writer and an executive producer. Details on the plot are being kept under wraps at this time.

Though we’re in the dark on the story, we are still completely on board for pretty much anything starring Maria.

To Watch “Conan In Cuba” In Cuba, You Have To Bootleg It

May 25, 2015
Uncategorized

Even though sanctions have been lifted, there are some Cuban bans on U.S. TV that still have yet to be done away with.

Two months ago, Conan O’Brien beat everyone in television to doing the first big time American TV appearance in Cuba in decades. It was a landmark moment for U.S.-Cuba relations as well as a highly anticipated fantastic hour of television.

With that being said, the Cuban people, probably many of whom were featured in the Conan in Cuba episode, couldn’t legally watch any of Conan’s visit as watching many American TV programs are highly frowned upon by the Cuban government.

We say “frowned upon” because many street vendors seem to get away with openly selling bootlegged DVDs of various American TV series, which coincidentally also includes Conan in Cuba.

So, watch Cuban folks buy bootlegs of Conan in Cuba in Cuba here.

Watch, enjoy, and make your own jokes to go with the ridiculous graphics the Last Week Tonight team comes up with.

She deservedly got her star this week, which means you could see it still in its new condition before taking the pounding from millions of tourists.

We’re guessing that McHale will feel a little more comfortable doing roast jokes of professional athletes than having to do roast jokes about journalists and politicians, then follow President Obama in front of some of the world’s most powerful people.

The ESPYs are returning in July and they have gotten Joel McHale to come aboard for host the night’s festivities. You’ll get to see it broadcast live on ABC, which will undoubtedly will make for some memorable moments, both planned and unplanned.

The ESPYs have only had Samuel L. Jackson return as host, but we’ll all see if McHale pulls off a hosting job that will have him back on July 15th.

The symbolic gesture of Chris Gethard being literally carried on the backs of fans happened this week and was indeed successful.

As you’d expect, all of Gethard’s fans make for a interesting bunch.

Watch how Chris made it from Brooklyn to Manhattan being carried without the litter of a monarch.

You can expect more of this kind of fun on The Chris Gethard Show’s premiere on Fusion on May 28th at 10PM.
